Content Generation Idea: Using Related Forums for Content Ideas

Okay, this is my 2nd post out of what might be just about 100 content generation ideas by the time I'm finished. And some of these content generation ideas might seem obvious to you, you might wonder how you didn't think of them since they are usually right under your nose all along. Well, sometimes it's the closest things we don't see when we're looking out into the distance!

One other thing that I'd like to mention here, is that these ideas can't just be used to come up with ideas for content, but you can actually make use of these ideas to promote and market yourself as well, your business, services or products. Since most of the ideas and ways I'll post about usually revolve around finding out about peoples problems and then being able to "go in" and then share your solution or answer to that problem in the form of your own content in those places. Content Generation Idea 2: Using Related forum for Content Generation Ideas

Forums are one of the oldest ways for people to talk together today. But they are still going as strong as they always have been. Despite Q&A sites like Quora, Yahoo! Answers etc and social media sites, groups and communities (but that's for another idea).

And using forums is one of the best ways to come up with content generation ideas as well. And it's so simple to do this and find ideas using forums that you might just smack yourself for not adopting and making use of this method for this purpose!

All it really takes is going to Google and searching for something like "KEYWORD + forums". Where KEYWORD is a word that's related to your industry. So let's say your blog is about dog training, (a great example I often use). Well you would then go to Google and search for something like "dog training forums".

Content Generation Idea: Using Related Forums for Content Ideas

As you can see from the search, Google returns tons of forums in that niche. 3.5,000,000 to be precise! Some of these forums are very active and have thousands of users on them all posting great articles or answering other peoples questions they've asked. All you have to do is go onto these forums and view the thread and posts people have made. From that, you should be able to find some truly great topics to cover in your content. Just read through peoples replies to those threads and you can use that to form your content.

Just keep a notepad open and make a note of the forum topic and URL. Jot down some things that you can cover in your content. Some threads are more popular than others, these are usually great topics to cover (very popular). The thing you can bet on here is that if they're that popular topics on those forums, they'll be super great topics to cover in your content too.

And that's basically content generation idea 2. Using related user forums for content generation ideas. The crazy thing is, this is one of the best ways to come up with content ideas. But many writers who hit writers block don't think about using them! How crazy is that?

I always use forums as a source for my new and drafted articles. I find that I would learn a lot from reading various forums with the same relevant niche and put all together the important details and key notes. That way, I could come up with something different by mixing them all and adding my own personal touches too at the same time - to the point that I hit the block which is really frustrating sometimes.

One thing why I enjoy forums is because I learn from the boards. Especially when I linger to check on the topics, there’s always something new to me. And if getting ideas for writing is the problem, I’m sure the forums can be of great help. All you need to do is to open the thread that attracts you and read the contents. If there are no interesting comments, go to the next topic that is relevant to your niche. Give it a run through and more likely you will read something that will spark an idea for you.

Good tip and it's easy to apply too. Getting new ideas from forum topics is sweet, and also one of the fastest tricks in getting new ideas. What I usually do is to evolve a certain topic I like making it a whole new one.

This is true in the sense that we get to learn more about our niche from related forums. It is by visiting these forums that we get to see some topics that we can rewrite and use for our own site and that has been a good way of generating contents for our site. The thing also is that you find out more about what to write on topics you are not really familiar with.

I've generated topics from one forum to another and used it as guest blogging as well as on other forums. I mean that checking out most of the most engaging topics on some forums can be a better way to generate some topics.

What I always do is get to know more about the topic I've discovered, research more on it and use that to make my contents for some blogs that I work on as well as some of the forums that I'm a member of.

In the last five months I have delved into the affiliate marketing world. The number one currency of successful affiliate marketing is good content. Good content in my opinion is content that is original. Forums are the best place to find out what genuine everyday people think about real life issues. This is material from new and original content. If you can concentrate and write on this, I'm sure you will have some of the best content around.

Reading topics and comments from forums is a good way to get ideas for your blog. Even I use this technique whenever im looking for new material and topics to write. Whenever I see or read something that I feel could be a good topic I'll take a snapshot to save it.

I am still learning about forums. Before I found this discussion, I found a related post in this same forum. (Link below.) I will use both for reference. They will be very useful since I was asked to write articles at two forums.
