Google Chrome Not Connecting

Google Chrome Not Connecting Recently, I have experiencing some issues with using my Google Chrome browser. It keeps popping up a "Bad Request" notification stating that my browser sent a request the server could not understand.

What could be the cause of this problem?

Whenever, you are having this type of issue with your phone browser, it is always advisable that you check your internet connection to be pretty sure that it is not disconnected. Also, ensuring that there is strong network is one other way to solve this type of issue.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with my internet connection because I made sure to check it on multiple occasions and I saw no problem with it. I even had to switch to the use of Wi-Fi connection and it still kept doing the same thing. I have even updated the Chrome browser but it still didn't solve the problem for me. What else can I do?

It could be that you don't have internet connection or you have very poor signal, in some cases a virus might have corrupted a file.

Try uninstalling it and then reinstall a new one from playstore, I think that would solve your problem. Also try deleting your cache and cleaning your apps and your phone.

It was never anything to do with my internet connection. I'm the type of person that hates it so madly when I have slow or dull internet connection. Sometimes, I would be forced to subscribe 3 different networks on monthly basis in order to avoid getting stuck with a poor network. I actually uninstalled and updated my anti virus software and had the system properly scanned.

I don't have problem with my Google chrome. Everyday I used this browser. This is the best browser in the internet world. You can almost find anything here.

I think deleting the cookies will help, because maybe there are some corrupt files on your system, and much better to delete the individual cookies that returning the bad request. I have the same problem before, and I was also asking for some health through online.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Cleaning the cookies? I haven't tried that solution yet. I'm going to try it tonight and see if it helps to resolve the issue for me. It's very frustrating having such hitches with my favorite browser. If it's on the other browsers I have, I wouldn't care at all.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Oh, why health instead of help? tsk. Google Chrome Not Connecting That what I used to do right now, if my browser or google chrome not working properly, I always clear the data and cookies, and sometimes clear the browsing history.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
There are some sites that makes it compulsory to accept the site cookies as it's part of its privacy before they allow you to make use of the contents on the site. If you fail to accept the cookies, you won't be granted access to the site. And most times, these cookies affects the other connection capabilities of other sites. I now understand the reason why it's very important to clear these site cookies from time to time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
Your suggestion is very helpful @aeon. I actually didn't know that cookies can cause problems in browsers. Probably the reason why some websites warn me that they need to use cookies in order to give better service.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

aeon
Nice to hear that it's also works for you. Yeah, your right, I actually ignored this cookies before every time its pop ups to my browser until I encounter the same problem and starting to look for some solutions online, honestly I don't know how the cookies works. lol.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
Same. I actually always click "I agree" whenever a website I'm accessing is warning me that they'll use cookies in order to give me a better experience of their website. However, now I am a little bit hesitant after reading your suggestion. And yeah, same, I also don't know how cookies work. I was actually shocked when I first read cookies in websites because I thought it's a kind of food or something lol.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

aeon
Sometimes I afraid to agree if the website asking me about the cookies, because I think it's possible for them to hack my account, and somehow I think it's just a fishing sites.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I have experiencing such in some sites and when I refuse to accept these cookies, I get locked out from accessing the site, so most times I end up accepting the cookies. But the moment I get a whif of the site not being trustworthy, I'm quitting it immediately.

Last Thursday, we were having a problem with Chrome. But unknown to us, the modem of the internet provider was out of order. I was actually working on a website when suddenly I lost connection. It was fortunate that when my husband came home, he suspected that the modem was not working because the browser of his tablet couldn't access the internet either. And sadly, it took the provider 3 days to restore our internet connection. My husband was right, the modem was the culprit. It was replaced and now it's working all right.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
This is another way that we should check to be really sure that the situation is not from the browser. Trying to open other browsers will prove if the matter is from that end or from another. Also, there is need for one to have an alternative way of connecting to the network so that when one way fails, we can make use of the other one.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
My case isn't the same thing because I don't use a modem for my internet connection. If that was the case, I would have possibly taken a look into it but it's not so. I think it's a problem with the page in particular because other pages connects or loads very well. I even tried using another browser called opera mini, it still did the same thing. I'm considering unintalling the browser and download it again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DenisP
If you tried out the page on another browser and it still didn't work, then it is more than likely the site itself is having connection issues. Does this happen with just one particular web page or multiple pages and sites? Maybe ask a friend or someone online if they can connect to the website, in order to narrow down the issue. I don't mean to alarm you, but you should probably do a virus scan of your computer as well. Some viruses are known to block certain types of connections which could be causing issues when connecting to certain sites.

Keep us updated, please, and I hope it works out!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Thanks once again @DenisP, all you guys suggestions were helpful in solving this Google Chrome browser problem of mine. Everything works well now, as I can connect to any site now without getting the bad request error.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

aeon
Yeah, that's right, turning on and off your modem will help a lot, but in my case, I can't call to the service provider because I'm not legitimate subscriber, I just bought my modem a second hands modem, and normal LTE sim. I need to become resourceful by fixing my own connection.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I will keep that in mind the next time I experience such problems but I'm sure it's nothing to do with my modem as it's connection has never been a problem for me ever since I started using it. Although most times, I make use of my mobile hot-spot for all my internet connection. Subscribing modem separately and my mobile devices as well, is too expensive for me to do.

Have you tried visiting the same pages with other browsers? This is the first thing I usually do in order to confirm if it is an issue with the browser or with the network itself. Once you've confirmed that it's just the browser, then you can start taking measures. The first thing I do is clear the history of all data, including sites visited, cached files, and cookies. This is almost always guaranteed to solve the problem right away. If it doesn't, the next step is to make sure I've updated the browser to the latest version. If that doesn't work, the last course of action is to uninstall and then reinstall the browser. If all has failed, it probably means that the site has done something to screw up its compatibility with your browser, and you're probably not alone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Thanks so much for all your assistance and helpful contributions, it all really helped me with sorting this aching issue out. I couldn't say for sure what particularly would have been the cause of this problem but I took it upon myself to apply all the measures suggested by everyone on the platform, at least the ones which I could do by myself.

I had all my browsing history, cookies, cache cleared. I also uninstalled all the browsers which I use and had my system thoroughly scanned before downloading all these browsers once again. And after all these, everything is working perfectly well now. I appreciate all of your help and support.

Thank you all.

DenisP's suggestions were all really helpful - as someone who used to work for a large finance company, our IT department would tell us to check all of those things too before they would send someone to physically check our PC. Usually those tips would fix it pretty quickly though!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes of course, the suggestions given to me my DenisP are indeed very helpful for other purposes even though it's not used mainly for this particular problem, it's still very helpful because I learnt a lot from it on how take care of other problems I might meet online.

Maybe try out a different browser. If your getting the same error that means there is something wrong with your internet. If not,try reinstalling google chrome or reinstalling windows if you need Google Chrome that much.I think you can just try and use other browsers like mozilla.

Thanks for the suggestion of trying to use Mozilla Firefox. To be honest, that browser is most hated browser to me. It takes time to connect and lags so much that it frustrates me when using it. I have already taken care of the problem with uninstalling the browser, scan my system for any possible virus that might disrupt my connection to some sites and have the browsers downloaded once more.

clear your browsing history. Go to Google chrome, at the right hand side, top, you see the 3 dots, click there, go to history, clear browsing history , select all time,.

This is one sure that the device can get free space to work better. Another way is just to delete the software and download it again to see how it is going to work. It is not always easy, but I am hopeful that there is nothing impossible when we are talking about getting the device to work better once more.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I don't think that the problem have anything to do with freeing up memory space by clearing out the browser history or cache and cookies even though I did both. It was something more than that which took me a lot of time and other tricks before I was able to get it sorted out. Had to uninstall, upgrade or update my anti virus and firewall, scan the system and download the latest version of Chrome before it started running properly.

I've seen on your screen shot that you do not use windows. It shows you use Ubuntu. This may be the main problem that you face. I've never used Ubuntu. I don't actually know of anyone who uses it. Google chrome maybe more compatible with windows. Another problem maybe your updates. How often do you get updates on Ubuntu?I'm not hating, just saying. Also check your internet connection.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
I use Chrome on my windows and I can say that I've got no issues since I began using it. Maybe it is as a result of not always updating the softwares that brought about the issue and nothing more. I would advise him to make use of windows OS for a better browsing experience.

Thanks for advice my friend, I have taken care of this problem with the none connection of my Google Chrome browser. It maybe true that it's as a result of using Ubuntu, who knows? But it's been taken care of. I do get upgrades very often and it wasn't an issue with internet connection.

The problem that I encountered before with my google chrome is that whenever I tried to open the browser it doesn't open and make any response. It remains idle even if you already click it for several times already. The important solutions that I discovered for that particular error or malfunction was just to restart your PC and close all possible programs that are running and after that everything was back on track and runs smoothly which I really didn't expect to happen.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Wow, that's one odd experience that you had there with your own Google Chrome. I think that the issue with yours was a RAM issue, it's probably that your computer system RAM was over loaded and it hanged when trying to use your chrome browser. So therefore, when you had the system reboot, it freed some space on the RAM, thereby enabling it to open again.

It looks like an error that is specific to one site because of the bit at the bottom about the servers. Have you tried visiting various different sites and seeing whether the error appears for other sites as well? If not, it might be something to do with your internet actually.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I don't think that it has anything to do with my internet connection because from all indications, I have a very stable internet connection. I believe that it's more of the site problem which I'm trying to get into or possibly my chrome browser server issues. But anyways, I have taken care of it now and thanks for the suggestion by the way.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

No problem, I'm glad that you finally managed to get the problem sorted. Do you know what it was exactly that was causing the error or did it just manage to sort it self out?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Seriously, I couldn't pinpoint the exact issue that caused the problem. I wasn't sure if the problem came from the site which I was trying to access or it was a virus problem. I'm sure it's not a network problem because I made sure to check my internet connection settings and everything worked fine. I just carried out series of tasks and the problem was sorted out.

If the problem is not whiting your internet connection,PC,server connectivity then you might want to contact their support and ask them about your problem. In the mean time, you can find alternative browsers to use and maybe you'll find a better one then Chrome. In my opinion,Mozilla works better for me.Try to contact support, they will guide you.Good luck.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Thanks for the suggestion my friend but I don't think it has anything to do with contacting support. It was definitely not a problem from my internet connection because I had everything checked out, as well as used other browsers to connect to the internet. I had reasons to believe that it was either the site problem or a malware in my system that is preventing my connecting to a particular site but all is well now, as I have already taken care of the problem.

I think the only cause is a slow internet connection. Just refresh it a couple of times. If nothing happen, just restart your internet connection. I believe this is connection problem.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It wasn't anything to do with internet connection @bienn05 because I had that part well covered in making sure to always use a stable internet connection for my online job, and being into transcription job, one really needs a strong and stable internet connection. But internet connection wasn't the but thanks anyways for your suggestion, know that I have already taken care of this problem and it works well now.

Have you tried other web browsers? I always install an alternative browser to check if the problem is specific in my main browser. You should also check your Google Chrome plugins if there are any that are causing the problem. Clearing the browser's cache could sometimes help. You can also check if the website itself is experiencing server side problems by asking other users or checking websites like isitdownrightnow.com.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Yes, I did tried out using other browsers to connect to the page and it was successful, so I presume that the problem was actually from my Google Chrome browser specifically. I have done most of the suggestion given to me like cleaning up the cache page, browser history etc and it's working perfectly now.

That is sometimes the problem with notifications that pops up whenever something is not working, it is hard to understand the errors especially if you are not really an I.T. person.

Cleaning the cache/ cookies also helps me whenever I encounter a problem. If this doesn't solve the problem, I restart the computer. Most of the time it works. Other than cleaning and restarting, I also tried looking at the Internet connection. I often receive errors when connection is slow. Just like you, I will try checking if other sites will work and if it does, I would just think that the site that is receiving errors is the problem. Try visiting it on a later time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
It's true what you just mentioned about having error in connection especially when you have a poor and unstable internet connection. It normally gives me the error response of "Error 404". Once I see this particular error notification, I know right away that it's as a result of poor internet connection. But this particular case is different. This one says that my browser gave a response the server cannot understand. Even though I have taken care of it, it has nothing to do with poor internet connection.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Marako0406
Same here, If I encountered a problem I just check the connection first and try to resolve it and if nothing happens, my next step would be clearing cookies and cache and if this does not fix the problem the computer needs to be restarted and check the wires of your internet. if it still ain't working then try uninstalling chrome and reinstall it again. Hope this will help!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I took those steps in that manner my friend and I believe that it was along the lines of doing it that I had the problem sorted and taken care of. Although I looked at virus having an effect on that as well, so I had to scan the system, my hardware and improve my firewall.

Slow connections or maybe some signal interference. Just check the internet module you have there and see if there is something wrong. You can also call the company you being subscribed.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Thanks for the suggestion my friend, I have already taken care of this problem. Although, it wasn't connection problem, so I had no reason to call the network company I'm subscribed to. All is absolutely well now as I can use the Google Chrome for all my internet business now.

i Think You Have To Check Your Firewall is It Open Or Closed Probably You Download Too Much Tools or You Download Something In Google Well The Problem is You Might Have No Wifi or You Didn't Pay But i Think There's Only 1 Reason That Your Google Chrome is not Connecting Because You Turn off The Data saver.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I had some suspicion that my firewall would be a reason behind the not connecting problem which was why I included upgrading it as well as other features I revamped to take care of problem.

I really don't think that it has anything to do with data saver because I have always used my data saver on and it worked just fine until I experienced this problem. But I'm glad that the problem is now resolved.

It could be a slow connection of the internet. Try consulting to the support team of your internet if the your connection is fine. Try using other browser if Google Chrome is really the problem. Update your Google Chrome. I hoped this helps my friend.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
It has nothing to do with my internet connection, that wasn't even a case for me because I have multiple access to internet connection, so should one fail, I have a very good back up. It's was practically a total different issue that resulted in Google messing my connection to the site up.

Check your ports, maybe its just dusty or something, it still didn't work, contact their customer service to have a replacement.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Can that actually be the cause of this problem? I haven't had such experience with ports being dusty that causes it to affect the connection to a particular site using different browser but still getting bounced back. Well, as the case may be, I have sorted out the problem and all is well now.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Try to check your Internet connection or try to reinstall your google chrome, by doing that, you can change all the settings to default. And maybe it is the reason on why it is happening.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I have done all that now and the good news is that I have taken care of problem. It was very annoying when it happened because it hindered me from doing most of the work I needed to meet deadlines with and I ended up losing some of the work. At times, we just hit a wall in the process of our online business and it cost us a huge chunk of money.

The thing with chrome is that it is internet speed sensitive. If your internet speed is not 5mbps and above then you will have a problem with chrome connecting. If it connects it will also be very slow. For example today my internet speed was 2 mbps, my chrome was taking 10 minutes or longer connecting. In this way I think chrome has a problem. Other web-browsers like safari and opera require very little internet speed to connect. Have an extra web-browser just in case.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I completely agree with you on this one that Google Chrome is internet speed sensitive because recently, I just had to change my data subscription network and the new network I switched to isn't as strong and very fast like the one I was using before. So, when it comes to some sites, when I want to publish new articles that I have written, I will get logged out of the site and will still require login again. This is as a result of the current network not being fast when connecting.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Make sure to check your Internet connection, or do a self-troubleshooting, like try reinstalling the application and try it again. If the problem persists, you should google the specific problem because anything can now be found on the internet.

Google Chrome is the best browser around but sometimes the application fail to work. Your problem might be resolved if your will clean your browser cache or re-installing the application. I also meet this problem when I am using VPN. I use VPN because some sites are not available in my country. Try turning off your VPN and launch your browser again. Hope this help.

The issue of some sites not having its services available in my country is a common thing. I have meet such sites and what I simply do is move past it because even vpn to bypass and enter the site isn't all safe. If you get caught with all the money you have made still stuck on the site, you will get banned and lose all your efforts.

This kind of message on your smartphone or laptop happens sometimes cause of internet issues. Sometimes its getting a slow connection or the modem its not firmly connected to the outlet. Sometimes it cause of too many users are trying to access the same wifi in the area and your connection wont get thru.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
You may be correct with your assessment on the problem being as result of too many users trying to connect to one particular Wi-Fi but unfortunately, I'm not using Wi-Fi internet connection for any of my online task. I make use of data subscription to a mobile network and it's been serving me perfectly. This issue gave me a very serious concern till I had it sorted out.
