How I handled a pushy buyer

There are times when I am really bogged down with work. I have many articles to write, and other things that I need to get done, and just can not take on anymore, or can not up the deadlines just because a buyer wants the work faster. I have encountered a very pushy buyer that asked me to push his stuff up to the front of the line to get done because he wanted it asap. At first I told him no, that was not possible. He persisted with the please, I am a good customer. He was, but I still did not think that just because he wanted it asap, he should get it when I had others in front of him. I finally told him that if he wanted the work, he would pay a rush fee for it of $20. He agreed. So I did do the work that day for him. None of my other clients suffered as they were not expecting their work for a few more days, and that work was done on time. In the end we all ended up happy, and I made an extra $20 from it.

Hello Taffy
Have a wonderful day.

You made a nice job by maintaining other clients remaining to the works. The buyer was urgent necessesity for your works. You did a good job and made $20. We all do same technique. When big budget project come than we manage the other clients for some more time and than do the big budget work fast. This is called professionalism. You had shown a good professionalism.

Thanks

Don't you think it's kind of unfair for the others? I mean, well they have their own deadlines but what if they also wanted their tasks to be done as soon as possible just like that pushy buyer? Well I guess if they do want to have their jobs done asap, they should message you and tell them that it is a rush. I don't know I just thought of it. How I handled a pushy buyer

I wouldn't have a problem with delivering in 24 hours or less on an order if the buyer is willing to pay extra for the fast service. That's normally how it works in every facet of society. Including when you're sending packages or mail to people. If it's important and needs to be there in 24 hours then you have to pay extra for the hurried service.

If I were in that situation that I think the asap work will ruin my schedule, I wouldn't be coerced with additional fees. It doesn't matter if he pays more because what matters is my schedule for the day. But surely, you had your way and it looks like you are happy with the fast work you have done and the extra money that you received. Perhaps it's the good effect of being motivated and surely that extra pay is a great motivating factor.

One key factor that I've come to realize about cusomters and clients management is the need to understand the emotional part of them. This is as a result of the fact that it is always difficult to please everyone at the same time, so when there is one that is acting pushy, the best way to handle such situation is to talk it out with them and get the best option they want. Another thing is that talking with them will now make them realize their mistakes from the beginning and the need to do things right the next time.
