Content Generation Idea: Using Article Sites like EzineArticles and ConstantContent
You know, article submission sites aren't just for people that want to submit some articles in the hopes that people will take those articles and put them on their site as content in the hope they will keep the author bio details and links intact within those articles. Article sites can also be used for coming up with tons of content for your own site. And the great thing about using article sites for content for your own site or blog? They have already been written for you! Content Generation Idea: Using Article Sites like EzineArticles and ConstantContent

Now you can either post those articles onto your site if you wish. And as long as the content within those articles is related to your site then that wouldn't be too bad an idea. But you will have to keep the authors bio and links within them and that means more outgoing links on your site and a possible loss in while people click them and are taken to a competitors site!

So the thing to do? Well if possible, you should rewrite those articles in your own words. The good thing about article rewriting is that if it's already been said, it's much easier sometimes to rewrite them in your own words. To do this, just break down all the sentences and then read them and then rewrite them in your own words, with your own unique angle and tone of voice.

Of course, if you don't want to rewrite them yourself, either because you don't have the skills (unlikely if you're a blogger) or you don't have the time (likely if you're a blogger) then you can always get someone else to rewrite them for you. You will just need to hire a freelance copywriter. A professional and good copywriter will be able to provide you with fresh unique content for; sales letters and landing pages, email campaigns and newsletters, advertisements, product descriptions, web content (blog content) etc etc and much more!

Hiring a Freelance Copywriter

  • You could create a WTB on here looking to pay someone to rewrite some articles for you.
  • You could create a WTB on SEOClerks (more people, more chance of finding someone quicker).
  • You could search the marketplace here (or on SEOClerks) to find an existing copywriting service.
Article Sites to Use for This Purpose

Some of the biggest and best (most used) article sites are best to use for this purpose simply because they have so many thousands of people submitting articles to them every day. The more people there are submitting articles to these article sites, the more chance you have of finding content that is related to your niche / industry and website. And that would make sense too since you will want to find content (even though you rewrite it) that is related to your website in some way. The only thing with doing this is that some articles are written in such a way to direct people into doing something. And some of them can sound very bias as well. So you will have to be picky and choosy about which ones you use!

Some good article sites to find content on are;

  • EzineArticles.com
  • Constant-Content.com
  • SeekingAlpha.com
  • eHow.com
  • Hubpages.com
  • Buzzle.com
  • BrightHub.com
  • SooperArticles.com
  • Writerhub.co.uk
  • ArticleCube.com
  • Pubarticles.com
  • Largearticle.com
  • Articlesxpert.com
  • ArticleCity.com
  • Artipot.com

If you need more, just do a Google search for "top article sites".

Do you use article submission sites for coming up with content ideas?

Do you rewrite them or just publish them to your site 'as is'?

I do not mean to cause offense and my intent is certainly not to be insulting, but I am slightly concerned regarding the advice to rewrite articles belonging to someone else. I feel that is bordering plagiarism, if not actually crossing the line into stealing another writer's work. There is nothing wrong with reading content from others and looking through ezines for ideas but I would stop far short of actually trying to reword the articles in an attempt to use them for free. Use the content for inspiration if necessary then write an original piece without trying to simply restate the same information. If the content is of high quality or perfect for a specific blog then purchase the rights to use it or contact the author to work out an agreement to use it for free in return for exposure.

I prefer words than pictures. Words can express all the topics friday night funkin better than analyzing what the picture is about. Pictures can lead to misunderstanding while words can be spoken directly without any misinterpretations.

Maybe I can also do some checking on other blogs that I follow because the table of contents usually can give me an idea of what to write. But then again, the sites you mentioned seemed to be a fertile place that I can right now pick up something for writing. Not bad eh. Just click on the link and there you go.

Great tips. @NERLJ, I completely agree with you. There is something to be said for having these sites as a resource especially for research purposes. The danger though is plagiarism. What are the chances that you will copy ideas from the article? Very high! What's the use of writing, if you're just going to re-write articles. This discourages your own creativity which in my opinion is your power and separates you from thousands and thousands of freelance writers.

I think thats Plagiarism but if you can give the article a good spin then it could be a good one posted on your blog page. I'll check out your list of sites soon. Hope I can find a good site that I can sell my articles in.

I agree@kakashi2020. The danger is using all these sites is that you can get caught up in the plagiarism. I guess you can use them to get ideas. However I prefer to get ideas organically e.g from real life problems and real life questions. All you need to do is listen to people in real life, on radio, television, forums and blogs. Writing content for the internet is tricky, you need to be as original as possible to get any traction and to get your content ranked well. Remember they are many people writing the same thing as you, so you need to stand out from the crowd.

Well if you are able to get inspiration from the variety of articles that are present on all these sites then there is no reason to hesitate using these sites for generating good quality content. However one should not copy paste the entire articles or even parts of it. If you are able to add your own perspective and value to the different topics that are discussed, then you should go ahead and use these articles for generating good quality content for your website.

One way to generate content is to look at the posts that are getting a lot of engagement. If you find people are engaging with posts about cats, post about resume genius preferably something these people haven't seen before. That's how it works on the internet!

Sites you mentioned above are very good, but a lot more time taking. So any of you want to speed up the process they need to spend their time on Reddit, and Quora; they are a gold mine for content generation ideas. It has more genuine users which are actively talking about the products, and services that you sell, or work in the same industry. I know it has been going long, but here's a much faster way to find out. Hold tight.

Google Auto suggest that is so far the best method to find ideas which you can write on. You can find way way better ideas than to look on these user generated sites, and I have been finding keywords for Architects Bali through Quora which are already ranking in the top 10; if they are ranking on the top search query so it would be a better chance to go on to the topic because you can easily outrank them within a week.
