Anyone use Grammarly?

For anyone that does not know anything about it, Grammarly is a free grammar checker that can be download onto your browser as an extension. For me, it is a lot better than the recommendations that Google gives you which is probably why it has a 5-star rating on the Google Chrome web store. I'm using it right now whilst writing this post and it's already given me a few suggestions. It's amazing if you are running a blog or just doing paid posting because it ensures that you do not have any mistakes in your posts. This is especially great for any quick typers out there like me. Anyone else uses the app?

I'm working at a university and the school has recently subscribed to a paid version of grammarly. The research department is in charge of this. The grammarly premium account is used to check the research papers submitted by students. It checks the percentage of plagiarized material, the number of grammatical errors, and a lot more. The tool isn't very accurate though. It sometimes suggests grammar corrections for sentences that are correct and doesn't suggest corrections for sentences that have wrong grammar. It's a great tool but still has a lot of flaws.

Ah yes! Someone mentioned that Grammarly had a plagiarism checker. I have never used it for that purpose. If you have used it, what has been your experience?

I have used Grammarly for many years and would highly recommend it to other writers. Grammarly throughly catches mistakes and gives detailed explanations and suggestions for better writing. I have used it when blogging as well as for long projects like writing a book. In both scenarios it has served me well and helped me to edit along the way successfully.

The five star rating is well deserved. I will continue to use it for all my writing needs!

Hi, Everyone

I also use Grammarly for many months now, I love this program, and as soon as I can I will be buying the pro version of it. The one thing I don't like is that I can not use it offline, however, I am not sure if I just have not figured out how to do this or if the paid version offers it. I am hoping so for I am writing stories and books offline. If anyone knows if Grammarly works offline please let me know thanks!

I believe you can actually use it offline. I'm not sure if it is available for Mac as well but you can actually download it for Windows so that it acts as sort of a desktop application and you can then use it offline.

I have been using Grammarly for a few months now and I have to admit that this chrome extension/add-on is beyond amazing. It is easily the best grammar checking tool I have ever used.

The tools that I have tried in the past were just too A.I. based and never considered the full context of sentences to correct certain mistakes and so on.

I came across Grammarly by complete luck because I saw an ad while watching a YouTube video. I only use the free version but it is really the smartest and most optimized grammar checker ever. It doesn't only check your grammar correctness but other things like prepositions, spelling, tenses and more. I truly recommend it to anybody... Even to the non-writers.

I am using Grammarly as I write this post right now and I must say that it is the best grammar checking tool I have ever used.I have tried other tools out there, and I must say that Grammarly is second to none. I would recommend for someone to upgrade to the Premium version though. The free version does not offer all the features.Grammarly is especially useful if you are a professional writer or a freelancer. It catches the mistakes that you make and best of all offers solutions with numerous examples.I have been using Grammarly for some time, and I have never been disappointed.

I have heard a lot about Grammarly but have never tried it. Your post is motivating me to try my hands on it. Everything that I have heard about it is all positive so I feel there is no harm in using it.

But I do most of my forum postings via my Android phone only. So can you please tell me if this app is available for an Android phone or not?

Grammarly really helps specially those aspiring writers who wish to have near perfect or even perfect grammar specially if they are majoring English. And you are right, there is no harm in using it and at the end of the day, you are the one who will always benefit from it. Anyone use Grammarly? I doubt that they have a mobile version but I am certain that you can also find another similar one that offers a portable mobile version too.

I think you are using a laptop for typing this post. I downloaded Grammarly but failed to understand it's working. I will have to spare some time so as to adapt to working with it.

Does it work everywhere we type or we have to type the text therein first?

I find Grammarly very useful as a writer. It is applicable in pretty much any situation such as writing emails, penning an article, or even drafting an official letter. I find it convenient as there's no need to use other grammar checkers. I find Microsoft Word's grammar checker to be lacking. However, sometimes such situations cannot be avoided. For instance, my office does not allow us to install any extensions on the company computers. I would resort to grammar checking using other means then.

I've never used Grammarly before, but I might look into getting it. I don't write blog posts, but I do a significant amount of forum posting so it might come in handy. I feel like my grammar has always been a little better than the average person, so I've only ever had to consult online grammar sites for specific, tough questions regarding grammar. What kind of stuff has Grammarly pointed out to you that you weren't aware of before? I feel like it's an extension that could help me become a better writer in general.

You seem to be very good at your grammar so you might not need it anymore. Anyone use Grammarly? They also have an extension if I remember correctly. Last time I checked they had the main browser plug-in thing which just pops out and you can already put whatever you want in there. And I believe they also have a software now to be installed on computers which is really awesome.

Grammarly, now that's a familiar name, but I haven't used it,I wasn't interested in its content and I was, how do you put it, confident in my writing ability, which include grammar, and I wasn't doing anything that required to be checked for perfect grammar, but lately I have started writing professionally so I'm thinking of getting it, since it doesn't only offer grammar checking, there's also plagiarism checking, which is very important to me, I hate plagiarism the most so prefer that my products are as clean as possible, plagiarism checking can provide that.

I had not previously heard of Grammarly, so this was an interesting post to read and the opportunity to learn something new and useful. I think it would have been especially helpful while I was going to college! I do still like to do a lot of writing though, sometimes short like on blogs and sometimes longer writing either for personal reasons or for work. I shall check out Grammarly since it seems like most people on here that have used find it rather helpful.

Definitely, try out. I've been using it for a few months now and it's amazing because you can type really quickly without having to worry too much about spelling and grammar because you know that the plugin will detect any errors and suggest fixes for you. They recommend it for college students and bloggers so this plugin/software would great for you Anyone use Grammarly?.

In my case, I'm just starting to use Grammarly, more than two weeks to be exact. And I find it very helpful, most especially people like me who's not that quite good when it comes to grammars. Because of Grammarly, I find it much easier to post and confident with your own post.

I am actually an English professor, now a part-time one, so I have been grading and correcting grammar for years. In an ideal world, we would all have perfect grammar, and even as someone who has studied it for decades, I must admit that I fail perfect grammar on a pretty regular basis. So, I endorse any program which cann serve as an editor for writers. However, these types of programs do not pick up on many subtleties or usages of the language, so, sometimes, context and meaning can be lost--being correct is awesome--being creative is awesome--however, developing one's own voice is even better.

I sometimes use grammarly and grammarchecker - both can be searched on the Internet. It also depends on what phrase or keywords I am using. Sometimes, those online grammar checkers would also fail depending on the phrase or sentence given so I would always search for personal and expert opinions by people who are sharing their expertise on whichever I am trying to search. In that way, I could also relate to them and would eventually know if this or this sounds awkward to read or this is redundant, etc.

Well, the extension is quite cool but it's doesn't do the needful most times, it has little or no difference from the normal spell check. although the extension functionalities sounds great, but natural language is still notoriously hard for machines to fathom.
The capability of machines to understand natural language is improving all the time, but AI may never be good enough to truly grasp all the double meanings and inventive uses for the English language. For now, you’d be better off buying a grammar and spelling book and learning the old-fashioned way.

Honestly! I don't even have an idea about this Grammarly stuff. Thank you for sharing it my friend, I'm gonna use it to check my grammar before posting my thoughts and ideas online. Because I know that my writing skills in English is not yet perfect and there's a lot of room to improve it. Being a person to write an articles, blogs, forums, poems and poetry without any mistakes is such an inspiration for me to develop my skills in writing.

I stumbled upon Grammarly when I needed an app to check my post grammar. I could use it on my smartphone or laptop but I found it difficult to control. For example, Grammarly might find a certain word incorrect spelling because it doesn't exist in the dictionary. I cannot skip that word, have to change it in order to proceed the next incorrect word.

I've heard of it before but never really paid much attention to it, as I enjoy proof reading anyway and I actually do prefer correcting my own work myself. However, if it helps me get through my work quicker, I think I would have to consider it again and especially so since a lot of the reviews here on it seem to be positive. Thanks for sharing this useful tool with us, I will have to check it out and hopefully in a few days I can come back here and leave my own review on it.

Grammarly is a savior for me! My writing takes place in what I can only describe as manic fits. I suspect this is a product of having been a classical musician since I was a child. Musical inspiration tends to happen in sudden flashes. They're like dreams in that the longer you go after having woken up, the dimmer, and less specific, the dream becomes. You have to get music out fast or you lose it forever! This methodology has followed over into writing for me, and it's the reason I make an atrocious amount of typos. If I didn't have Grammarly to act as an editor for me I sincerely doubt I'd be able to proof read my own work thoroughly enough to continue doing this! It would just take too much time to pour over each work enough to catch them all and still be profitable.

It's not something that I often use, but I don't see any kind of problem in having to use it when I need it (and I don't think - like a lot of people generally think - my writing power will be compromised by it).

If I need help, I have no hesitation in looking for it - no matter where this help will come from - and grammarly is always a great way to get help.

This Grammarly is very helpful for me. I am teaching English language to foreign students and makes me more comfortable giving sample sentences as the Grammarly automatically detects if I mistyped words or prepositions or if I had some grammar issues. This tool is very convenient and easy to use. I also recommended this to my co-teachers. They really find it very useful as well, most especially when our schedules are fully booked that we need to rush in giving comments and feedback to the student's page. That sometimes we made some typo error. But with this Grammarly tool, we can easily identify and go back to the mistyped words and misconstructed sentences. Thanks, Grammarly!

I do always use Grammarly up to this point of my typing. It really helps me correct my mistakes on grammar and spelling. It can improve your writing skills and enhance your vocabulary as they also give you options for the perfect words that you're looking for.

Yes, I do. It's my life-saver every time I write online. Grammarly is free to use and it's pretty doing a lot of edits to my work. It proofreads my grammar and spelling. I can't afford the premium subscription but if I will have the budget in the future to purchase, then I will.

The editing work of grammarly is so interesting with the way it helps with the corrections and putting the sentences in right structure and removing fragmented messages. The developers of grammarly software did a very wonderful job of creating a life saver for writers especially those who English language isn't their first language. They should just try and make it available for Android users.

I used Grammarly when it first came out, and I had a number of problems with it. Perhaps it was because it was installed on my phone. I uninstalled it, but after seeing these posts, I'm willing to give it another try. I also subscribe to a blog called "Grammar Girl." I find that her blog succinctly points out the correct thing to do in various circumstances.

Hmm, that's weird. Since you tried it out when it first came out, I guess they would have had some bugs and issues with their software which is probably why you ended up having a number of problems with it. RIght now, it seems to be working quite well and there doesn't seem to be any sort of problems (I'm using it on my laptop and with Chrome of course, not sure how it is on mobile).

Grammarly on phone? Are you really serious because I haven't seen such application with my own phone device. I have looked and searched for it in the Google play store all to no avail. I saw several other related applications but they are nothing like grammarly. If you don't mind my asking, what kind of phone are you making use of?

I have been using Grammarly for quite some time now and it is a very useful tool. Sometimes I tend to make mistakes when typing and fortunately there is Grammarly the life saver. Grammarly has helped me to perfect my works. I am considering to upgrade to the premium version.

It's been an actual lifesaver, hasn't it? The amazing thing about it is that you don't have to worry about checking for mistakes/spelling errors whilst you are typing because any mistakes will get automatically highlighted by Grammarly. This allows me to keep typing at a fast pace which saves quite a lot time since I can just go back and correct my mistakes once I have finished typing.

What are the exact benefits of the premium version? I've more never really looked at it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

If you want to have a better and wonderful experience with grammarly application, you should go for its premium version. It offers a lot more than what the normal software offers. I have made use of both premium and ordinary grammarly, and I would tell you that the premium version is a lot better.

I have used Grammerly when I was still making use of my old desktop computer, it really helped me a lot with my writing job by ensuring that I have less grammatical errors to worry about.

I really miss using grammarly because now I make use of android devices and tablets and grammarly isn't compatible with the devices and it hurts me so much.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That's such a shame to hear. I checked out the site and did a quick search on Google and I saw that Grammarly does have an app for both Android smartphones and tablets. It's not exactly an app but more of a keyboard which will replace the default Android keyboard. Is the problem that this app is not compatible with your Android devices?

I use Grammarly. It is a good tool to use because no matter how much of a genius you are, you can't edit your own work. You may be an excellent writer but they are some things that you will miss out on. However most people like to use the free version, which I really really don't advise. This corrects your basic grammar which is not enough especially if you have sentence structure problems. It is also good to use more then one editor , so you can use grammarly and something else.

I have recently started using Grammarly for all the content that I write online and I must say I am so glad that I started using it. it is very useful and very easy to use. most of the suggestions that are given are accurate. before using Grammarly I used to read all my stuff after writing and then make corrections wherever necessary. Now I have started saving a lot of time after using Grammarly. I think most of the writers who are newcomers like me or who are not very sure about there grammar should definitely consider using Grammarly.

Yeah, I used it all the time especially when writing a comment or article, it's very helpful and it always corrects what is wrong in the statement I write. This allows me to type really fast ignoring all the misspelled words and I could just go back and Grammarly automatically highlights the mistakes and gives an option to change the wrong text.

I used to use it for proof reading but I've found sometimes it works for me and other times not so much. It can help, but you still need to use your own discretion when it comes to writing novels, because of things like quotes, and also when you are trying to convey something that needs something extra to make it stand out. The software won't pick up on it and so trying to rely on it can seem to robotic. It does help with errors and tenses, so it's useful but one shouldn't blindly follow all the suggestions.
