Here is Why Anyone Can Write an Ebook In Under One Year

The average length of an ebook is determined by several factors" the genre, subject matter covered, etc., etc. Assuming you intend to write an ebook that is over 100 pages it is possible to get the job done in under 2 months.

How?

Simply write 1000 words a day and before the end of the second month you would have hit your target. Actually that is how some novelists write their books. They set their goal, 500 words a day, and they do it every day.

For someone who can spare an hour or two a day, how easy is it to write only 200 words a day? Do it for 300 days. That's 60,000 words!

If you've ever wanted to write an ebook but thought you didn't have the time for it, fact is as long as you can write only 200 words a day, you could write an ebook in a year.

I like the way you explained it. Basically, writing even a hundred words a day would constitute to 36,500 words a year. If a page contains 500 words then one can write a 73 page eBook in a year or if one would write 200 words a day then that would amount to a 146 page eBook. Upon reading your article, I feel motivated in finishing my eBooks.

That sounds way more achievable and manageable than I would have expected. Writing that much a day is straight forward and breaking it up into smaller chunks definitely makes the overall goal seem attainable.

I think so too. It's often that we exaggerate stuff to the point of being impossible to accomplish. But as we've all realized, anything can be done with enough motivation and determination.

Doing the bare minimum stuff is a start. We'll gradually grow more accustomed to writing regularly until we exceed our own expectations.

I agree. Dividing a work into a smaller pieces will be much better. It will also help you to pay more attention to what you have think that could help your E-book.

One thing that I have known well ever since I started working online as a freelancer is that determination and dedication as well as commitment are what you require to have in abundance before you can succeed in anything that you are working on. Even if it requires more than 500 words to be written in a day before you can finish your ebook, as long as you are willing to see it to the end, you will be able to succeed.

I had wanted to see if I will write a 200-page ebook with 250 words per page making 250k words in 10 days. That is about 5,000 words a day. Is it achievable?

I believe that you can do it if you have the words and story. There was a time I was doing some blogs and I could average about 6000 words each day although I had to strain sometimes.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
@stbrians it really depends on how much time you have to dedicate to writing that much and how well you know the content. I think it's definitely doable if you've got 8 hours a day to sit and write. For me though, at this point in my life there's no way I could get 5000 words a day completed with my other commitments.

My friend let me tell you there are no impossibilities in this world but barriers that we put on ourselves. If you believe you can do it let me tell you it might not be possible in the first day but eventually you will.

Write 5000 words a day.

It is possible to get that done if you've done all your research beforehand. However if you have to do the research first before you write, you still can but it will be a lot harder.

To find out if you can do it, you really have to try it. One month writing challenges like national novel writing month are a good way to test yourself.

I agree with you. It is very helpful to have a daily goal as you can be more productive daily and in the future

I agree with you, but it is really hard to be consistent.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree that initially it will be hard. What you'll be aiming for is acquiring the habit of writing every day. That won't be too hard. You just need to keep in mind your long-term goals or have some way to reward yourself each time you write at least 200 or so words a day. With the right motivation, there is nothing you can't do no matter how hard it seems to be.

Yeah but i think that this is way easier said than done. You don't just have to write the words down - every body can do that. Those words and sentences have to have a meaning and have to have a point.

It shouldn't be just about writing so you can have an ebook written within a set period of time.

Yes, I've read some books which the authors shouldn't have bothered to write in the first place but if you have the desire to write something but feel that you can't because the task is too daunting then you might need to do this slowly. Page by page, every day, the whole year. And at the end of it all you'd have accomplished your goal.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That was really achievable if you are a copywriter. If you just type the words in your computer without creating and editing of the contents. However, that figure made us feel that writing an ebook is not that hard to do.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

theresajane
That's a very helpful technique. Well, it really is achievable, especially if you plspend your time, passion and attention to what you write. It would be hard though if you have a lot of workload.

When it comes to how many words in an article that I write in a day, it's way over 1000 words.

I'm simply not focusing much of my attention in writing and completing my ebook but sooner than later, I'm most likely going to get it done.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you,but it still depends on your hard work and skills.

It depends on the type of E-book you are going to do. There are some talented people who can write such stories within a day, and those people might spend their whole day thinking or working on that certain job. Unlike some people who are just spending for around 2 to 3 hours on working for their stories. It is really possible for a person to be able to write an E-book in a year. A year is long time to write actually, it will give you enough space and time to think for you story. As long as you will pay attention to it and give effort, nothing would be impossible.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

A year seems quite a long time to write a book. It needs patience really. I will give up a long the way. I went to take the shortest possible time

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ajahcuizon
Well, that may depend on the person. Some person are in capable of doing it in just months and some are years. If you would be much comfortable by doing it in a short possible time, then it is good for you since you found the time length that you would want to use.

I know a preacher who writes a book each month. The book is about 140 pages long and it is usually written in a week or less.

It appears that if what you are writing about is something you know very well, then it wouldn't take long to write any non-fiction book. Fiction books would take a little longer to complete because there's much you have to get right.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, I have a friend who has a really talented hand and can write numerous good short story in just one day.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ajahcuizon
That's a very nice talent. I, personally, usually have a hard time in creating such stories. Your friend is very lucky to have such talent. I always want to be able to write a number of stories in just one day but seems to be impossible for me because of my busy schedule.

That's a good way of fulfilling one's desire to write an e-book. Spending a few words in a few hours will definitely be a success in due time. This will also minimize or lessen one's work. It will also spare from laziness. Aside from time, devotion and determination. I also believe that an inspiration contributes a good factor to produce a good e-book or article.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

A determined person will break every barrier. Sometimes it just takes willpower to be able to produce a very good ebook. Writing is fun with devotion o ones work.

Currently, I'm still working on my first ebook and hopefully by the middle of next year 2019, I'm definitely going to be publishing my first work.

It's not something too big or out of the ordinary but it's concise and compact. I'm simply taking my time not to rush it.

Well good luck! I really hope it is going to be a successful book. As for the author of the discussion: I have never written an E-book because of lack of time. Maybe I will write it during the summer break. Thank you for motivating me!

I hope that you'll not give up and be able to inish what you're writing on or before your own deadline. But, always make sure that quality is over anything else. Good luck!

Good luck with that, it's ok if you go slow as long as the ebook has a high quality content.

This is something that I’ve actually thought about recently. I always thought that writing an eBook would be some unconquerable task for myself, because I never imagined myself being able to say that I actually wrote a book. But then I did some calculating.

I’m interested in writing a book that would be considered in the self-help genre. After a quick Google search, I found that such books typically consist of an average of about 50,000 words. At 1,000 words a day, the writing process alone would take me just under two months.

Sure, that doesn’t include all the editing, research and content gathering, but two months isn’t a very long time. It made me realize that with a little dedication and some talent/skill, anyone can write their own book.

Embark on the project soon. You will make it. Am sure by March the book will be available on the eshop.

Thank you for the encouraging words and positivity! We could always use more of such a positive attitude on the internet. I actually do intend on starting the planning phase of the project this December once I finish up some other projects I’m working on.

I’m hoping to have the first draft of my book written by the end of the first quarter of next year, and the finished product released somewhere in the third quarter along with a new website I want to start.

It sounds great! It seems pretty manageable and achievable. However, we can't deny the fact that they need to gathering informations, editing and other stuff. We are talking about authors and writers and not just data encoders. The analysis was good but only for data encoders or copy paste writers and not for authors.

This is a really great strategy if you want to finish an ebook at this span of time. But this strategy required discpline and devotion to your work. You need to have a really good time management to make this strategy work. Also, you should have a way of getting rid of headaches as you write. You passion is one of the key to make this work too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you. It is never easy to continue something that you've started especially if it takes so much time to get it done. Patience is the key.

Sounds feasible. Would have been great if you included the phase that happens before the actual writing itself begins. There is a lot of thought and research that goes into any book before it actually gets written. This often varies with the subject the writer intends to tackle. It could take months in some cases for a complete idea to be formed and a decision to be made on exactly how the book will be written and structured. This phase might make the writing process longer.

That said, setting out particular times to write as well as word limits to be written everyday is a great way to effectively get writing done. Pro writers actually use this a lot, as it is easy to procastinate writing for any number of reasons. It could be for a date, or because you are too tired to write, or maybe because you are just not in the mood. Writing is no easy task, and demands a lot of discipline if one is to be successful at it.

Ah, yes - that's a good point. It's rare that many of us would proceed into writing a large ebook without some kind of game plan or structure in place, and when I'm planning out such a large body of work I've often got pages and pages of notes before I start.

Well, anyone can write an e-book if they will put their heart and efforts into it.

Writing a book is hard, no doubt. It honestly depends on several factors, even our daily routines.

But overall, I type faster than I write, by a lot. So I'd say you're right, writing an ebook for me personally would be a lot faster.
Perhaps there are people who write faster than type, but I can be 99% sure that it's the older generation.

This idea is very good in setting your mind to have an specific goal per day. The only problem I see here is the motivation to do so and how would you make yourself disciplined. This is great if it's already a habit. You won't mind doing it. But if you are new with this kind of strategy, I think you'll spend days or weeks before you'll be able to do this on a regular basis unless you are determined or motivated everyday.

Wow that is really a good idea and a strategy since I have never knew that there is something like that way for us to have an eBook in just or less than a year. It is really good to have a set of goals everyday for us to easily finished the eBook that we really want. Having a daily set of words is very helpful since we can easily monitor if we are doing a good job or not.

This would work for those who are really determined to write their books. Writing everyday may be rather difficult for those who write on whims, with plots and topics scattered all over. But if you have a clear view on how your book would go, if you have a clear topic, then it really is very achievable. But if you are the type of writer who is more of figure as you go, then this might not really be that achievable.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree that this is very doable. I think that this type of targeting for anyone who wants to write a book is very helpful. All you need to do is set aside some time and commit to write everyday, before you know it, you would have written a whole book. You are always told the hardest process is begging, once you begin you are good to go.You can work out all the details in editing.

Good mindset you had. Having a goal is a really good one when it comes writing a ebook, "but" in writting on that many words, can you express and convey the feelings you want to convey in it? Its really crucial.

I am not pretending to be a writer so I can admit that I cannot write an article of 1,000 words every day much more if it is an e-book for a novel. Writers can easily do that because I have known some veteran writers who spend nights until dawn of writing more than 1,000 words per day. But after a week of writing, they look exhausted and I wonder where they get their ideas when they have mental fatigue from too much writing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I'd definitely need to incorporate days where I could let my mind have a break if I was writing that much. I think it's important to have those kinds of days in your schedule, so that you don't end up getting writer's block and losing motivation. Sometimes you've really got to have balance in order to work most effectively.

Before wattpad, I usually read ebooks whch are available even without internet you just have to download it and you're good to go.

I think the reason why my grades is not that good because I spent most of my time reading the life of a fiction characted that I forgot that I have my own life too which is in reality.

Well, that is very true, setting a target and trying your best to achieve it every day can certainly help you in achieving your goals when it comes to creating any sort of content which needs a lot of your time and effort. This technique can especially be very useful when you are writing an ebook on a particular subject. However, only an experienced writer can be able to complete such targets when it comes to any kind of creative work like writing a novel.
