What Scares you the most?

Holloween, All Souls Day, Day of the Dead, it will all happen in a few days time.  And during this season one thing is common, fear.  Not in a bad way but in a novelty kind of way.  With all the scary decorations and costumes during the festivities and with all the horror flicks being shown this season, I would say that people loves to be afraid.  Having said that, what do you really fear most?

I am assuming that we are talking about scary characters and not events like accidents or sickness. When I was younger, I was so scared of vampires because there was a hype on vampires whenever there was a movie about it in the cinema. Even the news reports were rife of such fiction stories that children tend to believe. But when I became an adult, the only real scary character is the ghost. I had some close encounter and I'd say I was really scared because of the actuation of my companions.

I relate to you. I used to be afraid of vampires too when I was young. But when I got older I was more afraid of real people than those kind of things since people can hurt you so bad.

I know what you mean. When I was young and scared of ghost and everything, my mom would always say "fear those who are living and not the dead". Realized it was true when I had some encounter with bad guys.

yes, I think ghost are just illusion s we shouldn't be afraid to them, however people are real and can hurt us, so its people that we should afraid of.

Vampires were made to be scary. Imagine them sucking blood from a human who in turn becomes a vampire. It is scary enough.

I wonder whose imagination it was. Dragons, unicorns, fairies, aswangs and many others were imagined tol.

Not all vampires are bound to be scary. Maybe before like Dracula. But now they make hot looking vampires to be a leading man in some movies. Who would be scared of that?

I felt like the same way too. Even going outside of the house for a while alone really scared me. That was a really effective way of making children sleep early at night.

Me too, there is a point before I sleep the clothes or bedding needs to have any clothed to cover my neck. Lol

I don't really fear ghosts or monsters. I could always fight them in my head and counter that they weren't real. But surprisingly, I got scared when I entered the horror house even though I know that they were people in custumes from the start. Haha. So I guess my greatest fear is materialization of monsters in my head. haha. I couldn't care less if they are in my head, I could fight them. But feeling like they could touch me or harm me physically, then it is when I begin to get scared.

Well, I'm scared of dying. Though it is a given fact that we'll all die, and we have no choice but to accept it, I still am afraid of it. Particularly on when will I die. That question still lurks in our minds and it is kind ofof scary because we don't know when our time would end. It sould be tomorrow (which I hope not) and our plans would not be put to actiom because we cannot do it anymore. Nothing scares me more than that.

I do feel distressed whenever I watch paranormal shows especially during Halloween and All Souls Day. But I try not to get scared because this is the time we celebrate and honor our loved ones who have gone before us. The time we pray for our departed relatives so they may rest in peace. What I fear most is losing everything and everyone I love. I don't think I would be able to move on if that happens.

I don't really watched horror movies since I get scared easily and I'll be sleepless if that happen.

I don't celebrate All Souls Day. Although the Halloween holiday does not scare me, I do like to look at scary movies just for fun.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Same idea as mine. They all looks just for fun that makes my mind think they are not real. And that is the reason it don't scares me. Movies sometimes makes shock when there are scenes like cat suddenly drop from above.

You have brought back a childhood memory because I do remember when watching movies about vampires and werewolves and Frankenstein really frightened me. I was so relieved when my big sister told me they weren't real. Nevertheless when I became a parent, there were certain scary movies I did not allow my kids to watch until they reached a certain age. I didn't want them having bad dreams.

I am honestly scared about coffins ever since when I was a child, I am afraid whenever I see a coffin and I can't sleep well at night whenever I am thinking that way. But for now I am trying my best to overcome that fear so that it cannot affects me so much. I know that it will be an easy task but I am willing to do everything to overcome it.

What scares me the most is the day of judgment; when the Lord Jesus Christ will judge both the living and the dead, based on how they lived their lives while on earth. The scariest part about this is that you'll either receive eternal life or eternal damnation.

I really don't get scared of Halloween thingy. I only see those ghost, frankenstein, witch, and a lot more as their mascots. They look really scary but it was just a costume. Maybe if I am going to see real thing of that I would be jumping off my feet.

You can laugh at me for this but I have seen a ghost when I was a kid. How did I know it was true? Even the kids beside me saw and felt it. You get the chills for just a second and immediately your eye catches the ghost. When you come to your senses, you don't know how much time went by but it felt longer than it should. The ghost was gone. Ever since then, I felt scared of ghosts.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Corzhens
That is surely a scary experience especially for a kid because the belief in a scary ghost is very strong unlike when you are an adult that you can get hold of your fear. I remember being so scared at night when the tv show was a horror movie. Add to that the teasing of my siblings that the monster will get me when I fall asleep. It was truly a scary night.

There was this show early 2000s called Kabakabakaba. It aired on GMA. I can't find clips online but when I was a kid, all the graphics and sounds looked life like. One scene I can remember to this day is a cursed man turning into a crippled horse on his bed because it's a full moon.

What really freaks me out are bad dreams. There where times in the past when I used to have bad scary dreams. It's like lucid dreaming, im aware that I'm dreaming but I can't move my physical body. It's like being paralyzed. It happened to me thrice already. There where always vampires, werewolves and other monsters chasing me, then I would wake up and I would be paralyze for a minute or so. It always scares me whenever that happens.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

rlpzbeermoney
That's called sleep paralysis and I experienced that a couple of times already. I'd wake up thinking was that real or not. Since I am paralyzed, I just try to close my eyes in hopes that it's over. Sometimes I think of it as not real and so I start to imagine things.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have experience it too, and it was really scary. I am glad that it stopped because I used to be scared of sleeping because I don't wanna experience it anymore.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Got scared experiencing that too. I woke up and can see my siblings walking around my bed but I can't move and can't even shout to call for help. When I close my eyes back, it felt like the bed is eating me up down to darkness. It was only when I was already working that I found out that it is called sleep paralysis. It seems common. When I tell friends of my experience, they will answer back that they have experienced it too at some point. Even my nephew who is 10 years old had the same experience. He too got scared that he asked his mom to let him sleep with her for a week.

The other thing that scares me is a flying cockroach. I'm not afraid on a cockroach that is crawling on the ground, but when that cockroach crawls on the wall and starts to prepare its wings to fly, that's the time I will run and start to panic. Because I feel like that cockroach will lay to my body and that really disgust me.

I panic every time a cockroach comes near me as well. I almost fell off a chair when I was younger because a cockroach crawled on my back. It felt like micro-fingers with sharp nails tapping on my skin. It was traumatic for me.

What scares me the most is when the time I will completely lost my motivation in my passion which I think I'm going there anytime soon. I know that my passion gives me the right path to my career but, it seems like I'm already losing my track and it really scares me a lot. What scares me the most is ending up bankrupt, all the life I've devoted my time and effort in school while my other friends dropped out of high school and continued their path drinking and living with their parents. This is definitely something that I am always scared about and avoiding through constant hustles. I am afraid that some members of my family will suffer eternally in hell. The Bible says those who do not believe in Christ is condemned already and are doomed to hell. I know what you mean. It is the ultimate truth. The truly inevitable thing in this world. A lot of people are told to embrace it rather than fear it. They say that its purpose is to give meaning to life.

Because life without end in this world is simply torture. The true home that awaits us all is Heaven. But only if we're worthy of it.

I suppose this is also what makes others feel scared. If you don't believe in the afterlife, then you'd be terrified of the end as nothing. Just emptiness and non-existence.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jeffreyjose48
I believe that we should not have fear. Always we can read do not fear from the Bible. We are to fear God instead.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree. He is the ultimate truth in all things. So he has the power over all the exists in this world and the one outside of it. The spiritual journey is our true goal. We must be worthy of Heaven if we ever wish to enter it someday.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you. He alone is to be feared. He is the maker of heaven and earth. He alone is worthy to be praised in all the earth.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I'm probably scared most by the afterlife. Particularly, the image of Hell. For all its many metaphors and nightmarish depictions, it certainly is the place you never want to be. It's very difficult to earn your place in Heaven. So I can only hope that when the time comes, I'll be worthy of entering eternal paradise.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Haha, look at my fellow catholic christian. It's good to be weary of the afterlife because with all the Bible information about hell fire, it's very scary to imagine spending eternity in the flames of hell. It's better to live a righteous life and save one's soul from eternal damnation in hell fire.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I'm happy to find someone who's Catholic as well. I feel like many forum members here are too. It's obvious that Hell is the true place of fear.

It's just scary to think that after you've lived your life, you may not go to heaven. The better option would be purgatory. At least, then, you'd have a chance to go to paradise. But I've read that the cleansing fires of purgatory is much worse than hell.

That's because it symbolizes purification. And usually, it's not a pleasant experience. Much like relinquishing all ties in the physical world. Particularly, materialistic tendencies.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I am also a Catholic and I am thinking the same thing. I am also afraid of what will happen after death. Everyone would love to go to heaven and have a peaceful life.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Me too. It's just that only few will succeed. It's terrifying. I feel like there's a high standard for those who will be chose to go to Heaven. Let's do good on Earth and avoid stuff that will lead us down the wrong path.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

superlicca
I am not sure of the standards that we should meet to go to heaven. I believe that everyone commits a mistake. But life is full of mystery and we will never know what will happen until it happens.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
That's true. In a way, the best we can do is to hope and be as good as we can be. Small acts of kindness improve our chances little by little.

That's why letting go of vices means a lot. Because once we get rid of bad habits, we're one step closer to being worthy of Heaven.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Bible description of hell has made very scary to many sometimes I just feel death is a scary thing because no one know what will happen next after he is dead but one think is very sure, hell is a really bad place to be and with what the Bible has preached about, we need to be scared so that when we are going against the will of God, we can come back to order and live a good life that pleases God not humans.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
That's true. We should be afraid of committing sins instead of other people's opinion. It's what matters most. Our souls are the eternal treasures. We must keep it safe against evil and all that tries to bring us down towards the inferno.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
So do I, that is most of the people fear I guess especially those people who do nothing but bad things to others. Heaven is the best place afterlife based on what I have read about it and what the Bible says also. Everyone wanted to go in Heaven but only few are qualified.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Yes, that's the scariest truth there is. Everyone wants to be there. But only the select few are truly worthy of it. It makes me cry internally whenever I realize this. I wish that we may live a long and fruitful life. That we may do good and avoid evil.

So much about this world is rooted in sin. That's why following God is the most difficult yet rewarding path of all.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I hate to be a naysayer but without disrespecting your comment my friend that has been a constant believe for centuries. There are many people who have from time and time even had superstitions that Jesus is coming again but the sun shines on the next day and the world keeps on moving. I think that one should do good because they want to and for the sake of other humanity not just aiming to go to heaven which may be just but a fallacy.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
It's okay. Maybe what we wrote came across a different way. We do want to do good because it's the right thing. We want to be good for others. But most of all, we want to be good because we believe in God.

We're not really thinking the end is near or anything like that. We really hope for the best. Thank you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Okay my friend. Now I understand you. I find the idea fascinating but anyways this is neither the forum or place for such a discussion and as such, I would rather we leave it at that note. Thanks for the clarification.

You are also a great person to engage in a healthy conversation and argument with my friend. It is really good to be hopeful about the future but it is only after death that we will know what is beyond.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, that's true. Everything beyond our life here is a mystery. It's exciting and terrifying at the same time.

Let's enjoy the life we have right now. It's a gift that must be treasured and valued.

Something that's unique and priceless.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Speaking of few being qualified, I don't think anyone is even qualified to go to heaven. Heaven is a place where no man can enter with sins therefore everyone must be born again but aside that, no individual can live a day without sin.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
There are different kind of sins. I believe that those who have not so heavy sins are qualified to go in Heaven. God will weigh in every peoples sin and He will decide which one you will go.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
That is true. That's why even small acts of kindness help us become better persons. Everything we do adds up. So let's be good even when there's no worldly reward. It's part of the test.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
It's okay. We all have different beliefs. The only true judge of that is God. The best we can do is to do good while here on Earth. Repentance is also a constant thing where we confess our sins and do penance for them.

When the time comes, only He will know whether we're worthy of Heaven. I hope we get to do that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
Yeah Lets do good and we will be rewarded by Him. I understand that we are just human, there are times that we commit mistakes, the only thing that should do is ask His forgiveness by praying.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

me too my friend. There are many things that still have not been discovered about what happens after one has died and the thought of that scares me. I do not know what simply happens after the eyes are shut and I refuse to believe in the current myths.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
You are right. But lets do good to others and follow His words and for sure we will not ever loose our way to Him. As long as we are doing right no need to fear anything.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Me too. That's why a life of simplicity is hard to choose. Because it would mean abandoning all unnecessary stuff. Especially, worldly pleasures. Like the excessive lifestyles that add no real meaning to our lives.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
I agree with you on that. We cant live this life the way that it should be. Living simply is hard to do especially today that all things are upgrading and technology keeps on changing,it is very hard. People who would not follow the modern changes seems like ignorant in the end.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I feel like anything that's truly rewarding is difficult to achieve. Do you remember the line about the way to heaven being a narrow path?

I'm touched by the words of the gospel. It's already revealed that being on the right path is never easy. But true enough, once you make it through to the end, you will receive eternal salvation.

That's also part of the challenge. It would seem that those who prefer a simple life are missing on out on what's trending.

But there is freedom to be found in a humble living. You're no longer burdened by the constant stream of technology and media that causes stress and anxiety in many people.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
Yeah I remember that. I read that in a gospel magazine when I was in grade school. There were questions there also which path you wanted to choose, the narrow path where you would suffer all burdens in life then after you reach the end of pathway you would receive the eternal life and the straight path where no burden at all but in the end you would suffer something.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I find that funny. I can relate. I guess we've both read our fair share of gospel magazines. I enjoyed the parables and stories written there.

There's so much truth to be found in the written word of God.

Well, I am not afraid of ghosts. Although I do believe in the existence of ghosts I have not seen one till now :} so it is difficult to be afraid of something which one has not felt or seen. However, the biggest fear of my life has to be the fear of losing my near and dear ones. I think death is the biggest reality of life but facing the death of our loved ones can be the most difficult and fearsome things for most of us.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
As human beings, we are all familiar with what death is all about especially when you have seen fatal accidents that caused lost of so many lives and properties, it's definitely supposed to scare you when you hear about death.

As of ghosts, I have had my encounter with it one time in the past and I must confess that it's not a pleasant experience which I would never like to have for the second time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

So creepy. I dont like to see ghost. But how will I know if its true if I have not seen anyone yet. I would rather not see it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
You don't need to see it to believe it. Just their presence alone can be felt by the living. So you need only be aware of your surroundings. The thing that blinds us is deliberate ignorance.

It's when you pretend that something doesn't exist. Because believing in it scares you more than anything.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
Yeah you are right on that. The more we scare to the ghost the more chance they will appear on us and try to scare us. I heard that the more negative energy the people have the ghost will scare you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think it's true. They really are attracted to negative energy. That's why they stay in places where horrible stuff occurred. They don't like areas where peace and happiness are overflowing.

In short, we'll have all that we need with God by our side. So always have faith.

I do not think that such things exist and I would only believe when I see one with my own eyes. I think that some things have been blown out of proportion while they are just mere superstitions that became too famous. This is however not an invitation to anyone wishing to have me haunted. hahaha.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
In a way, it doesn't matter whether we believe in them or not. The truth will show itself in time. It's like dark matter. Just because you can't see or feel it immediately doesn't mean it's not there.

Also, it's funny when people who don't believe in ghosts finally see one for themselves. It's like their whole world is turned upside down.

I have a lot of relatives who said the same thing. The moment they experienced the mildest paranormal activities, they bolted out of the house and never went back.

It may be a coping mechanism of sorts. Because if we don't believe they're real, then it's okay to not be scared. But the moment we see undeniable proof of their existence firsthand, our world changes forever.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I'm sure it was scary. Mine had me running down the stairs so fast. I almost tripped. Good thing I haven't seen one again since then. I do my best to avoid potential haunted areas.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I agree. Death is probably the second most terrifying thing in life. The scariest for me is eternal damnation. You cannot imagine the horrors that await you there.

I've seen ghosts myself. So I'm sure they're real.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mdayrit
How we create ghosts in our head is what makes them scary. One of my friends who is into supernatural studies and claims to see ghosts said that he sees ghost like normal people walking around. They have a different world and they cannot see us just like we don't see them. There are only instances where one accidentaly see the ghost if they have a partially open third eye.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
That's probably why we can't see them. It's so weird to think about alternate planes of existence. That someone can be within your reach but you just can't see them. And that it's a different yet identical world altogether.

The way you described it reminds me of Fringe. It's a science fiction TV series about parallel worlds.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I'm not sure if much scares me because I'm a good fan of horror stories or anything that gives people the creep. Personally, I have experienced ghost in real life and still survived the incident but when it comes to Halloween, there are some alien extreme make ups that can scare me a little.

Maybe a dumb question (but I'm always curious when people see ghosts), did it look like a real person? Transparent? Were there any giveaways that it was a ghost and not a real person?

It creeps me out but I always want to know more when people have seen ghosts before.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I can help you out with that. My personal experience was brief but slightly traumatizing. I was in school back then. It was after dismissal. Imagine walking down stairs with lots of corridors and dark halls.

If you wanted to go to the ground floor, you had to walk through a hallway before arriving at another set of stairs. Nearly all the lights had been turned off. You could barely walk down without tripping.

I had been staying in the library longer than most students. Because of this, I had to go down alone. As I've said, it was very dark. Right in the middle of the stairway, I turned around.

I was shocked to find a white lady behind me. I dare not look longer more than a moment. I didn't want to be frozen in fear. Much of the ghost's appearance has been lost to me for some time now.

But I am certain of what I saw. It wasn't transparent. It was more translucent and ethereal in appearance. As if it was occupying the space yet not being physically present at all.

The biggest giveaway was its timing and the way it looked. I had just walked through the hallway where it appeared. It wasn't there before I turned around. And the colors it gave off was the literal description of a mysterious pale aura. Just like how it's depicted.

This is the same thing here. I don't always look at how difficult that it is going to be when we lose people that really cared about us. This is one of the things that I fear, but I know that everything will always work for good at the end for all of us.

A good movie to watch this coming Halloween would be 'The Sixth Sense' which stars Bruce Willis. The film is about a boy who gets haunted by ghosts all the time, realizing there's a reason behind each apparition and these ghosts only want some help.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I've seen that movie. I was surprised the first time I watched it. I never saw that coming. I had to ask my fellow movie watchers what just happened. I couldn't believe that the character he was talking to was already dead.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I know right, the twist at the end is the climax of the film. That's why the boy in the film (Haley Joel Osment) was afraid of him at first, not realizing he was dead as well.

So true. And that's how M. Night Shyamalan became known for his shocking twists. Many say that his movies are either hit or miss. But this one is such a classic. Definitely a hit.

And the unforgettable line about seeing dead people. I couldn't stop laughing. It's because one of the characters said that in Scary Movie.

"I can see dead people" - catchphrase did become a household term.

M. Night Shyamalan was a genius in those days. One of the best horror movies of all time, great story, brilliant ending and superb acting. Still scares me a lot, a true classic.

You're welcome. It's a good film to watch. I find the ending the heartbreaking. It's so very unfortunate.

You'll find out why once you've seen it. But it does sound funny when you think about the concept used in the film. It can be applied in real life.

It could be that others have experienced malevolent spirits. Not all ghosts are neutral or friendly. Others make a point of terrorizing living beings. I don't know why. But prayer does help them. I hope they get to leave Earth since they're no longer alive.

I believe in the presence of ghosts and I don't really like to see ghosts. I am so scared of ghosts even if I never got the chance to see them. I don't even like to watch horror movies although I like listening to some horror stories from friends and others. They say that every house has a ghost but I don't want to believe this belief because sometimes, I am alone in our house. Do you guys also believe that all houses have a ghost? And not just everyone has the 6th sense to see and feel them.

I've never seen one before so I'm on the fence about whether or not they really exist. I guess though it's a bit like faith. Even though you may not see a ghost or a spirit, it's more of a presence perhaps rather than an actual physical manifestation of a person.

Some people I know though swear by the fact that they've seen ghosts before, so who knows!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think you are right! I know some people who have the ability to see ghosts and I think it is really scary to have that ability. I would never want to be like them. I don't know if I will have a normal life if I always see ghosts.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have seen one. It can be traumatizing depending on how and when they appear. Mine was when I was still at school. Long story short, I saw a white lady while going down the stairs.

The funny thing is that had I not turned around, I probably wouldn't have seen the ghost. I just knew to look behind me due to sensing a presence.

That was scary! Schools have a lot of ghosts too! Even in our school before had a lot of scary stories. White lady, dwarf, and more. The guard said before that he saw a group of people that were having a party at the stage. And it was 8:00 in the evening. They looked like normal people but they vanished when the guard tried to approach them.

That's creepy. I imagine others having experienced the same as him. Only it's more common to have that thing where you see them and then they're gone.

Like in Horror movies. Once you turn around, they suddenly disappear. I hope you never experience something like that.

I do believe in ghosts and I've seen a lot of unexplained things in my life including moving shadows, silhouettes, things floating and moving on their own, voices, globes of light in the night, and other things which are paranormal in nature. Some houses that I've gone to where also plagued by ghosts or malevolent beings, one time I was sleeping in a friend's house, the stand fan in the room suddenly became bent in a 90 degree angle while I was staring at it. That made me leave at the middle of the night. Later on I was told that the room was the room of a recently deseased relative.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

superlicca
That was really scary. There are real reasons behind the scary stories in every house. What I experienced before was I was laying on my bed with my eyes closed but not sleeping. Then I felt that somebody jumped to my bed. I thought it was my cat but it scared me when I found nothing. I looked around to see if my cat was in the room. I was really scared at that time. And it was weird because it happened in the morning. I thought ghosts are active at night. ;-)

Okay that's super freaky! I would have left too...there's no way I would have been able to get back to sleep after that. It's a bit too much of a coincidence for something like that to happen and then to be told that the room belonged to someone who had recently passed away. So creepy!

It's one event that I can never forget and the worst part of having experienced it, is that I always remember what happened whenever I'm alone at night and it always scares me. I too have an experience which at first never thought of it as a ghost. I was walking home not so late at night. A dog blocks my way and keeps barking at me. What O did was to stop and look around for someone who can walk with me until I get passed the dog. I saw a man behind me standing at the corner of a tree and a wall. Looking down and just standing still. I don't recognize him as someone from our neigborhood but knowing that someone is there with me gave me the courage to walk pass the dog. When I look back at the man, it was not there anymore. There was no other way that he can turn or hide that fast. Suddenly realizing that it might be a ghost, I ran fast till I reach home. That is just one of the other experiences that I have. Experienced toys or TV suddenly turning on and a whole plastic of bread moving from my side to my back.

Your story really scared me. If that will happen to me, I would not want to walk alone anymore at night on the street. I have never seen any ghost but I can feel them and I felt them many times in different houses that we lived in. I am still glad that I can just feel them and not see.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Sometimes it's scarier to just feel them. You always know there's a hidden presence with you. So you're going to be a little unsettled every now and then. And then one day you'll be shocked to find what's lurking behind you.

I've experienced this and it was terrifying.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That could be it. These subtle experiences hint at the hidden world of the supernatural. Sometimes we can't avoid it. Especially, if we live somewhere filled with paranormal activities.

Have faith and pray for the peace of lost souls.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Friendly or not, I think I will choose not to see one again. My friend who's into supernatural asked me to try walking on a different route but since that is the only way I have no choice. I just tried not to look that way whenever I am on my way home.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I'd probably do the same. We can never be sure of the spirits we encounter. We're lucky if they're friendly or neutral. But once we catch their attention, it's better to avoid further contact.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
That's terrifying. I guess you can call yourself an experienced individual when it comes to paranormal activities. No one would want anything like that to happen to them.

I wonder why it mostly happens when we're alone. That's why others are skeptic about ghosts. Until they see spirits for themselves.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

One experience that I have of moving objects on their own happened when I was with a friend. Asked her if she sees it while it was happening and she said yes and do not mind it because the more I give it attention, the more it might play with us.

I am not saying that I actually believe in ghosts because I still don't. Just don't know what to call that experience. Whenever I hear toys or TV turning on by its own, I just consider it as a malfunction. Seeing things that looks like ghost, I count it as only part of my imagination. But moving objects, I am still thinking of a reason of how it can happen without connecting it to supernaturals.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
It's funny that we don't want to believe in the supernatural despite every possible evidence. I prefer to think of it as real. Many have already experienced near death experiences.

So they have some idea about what lies ahead after we pass on from this life to another. I remember being with my relative when a supernatural being scared the living life out of us. It emitted a loud guttural sound behind a closed door.

Suffice to say, we dared not enter the supposedly empty bedroom anymore.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

allyn2017
wow, that was creepy maybe it was just an illusion or a coincidence? Like the wind blows too hard or something?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I don't think a wind could explain something like that. Though, I'd like to think that we're not experiencing something menacing most times.

It's just that we can't avoid supernatural events. Telling ourselves not to be scared is a good idea. But a better one would be to pray for the spirit's peace and protection from being harmed by them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Definitely, the unknown is supposed to invite fear to any reasonable and rational human being because you can only plan for what you have knowledge of and be left helpless with what you have no clue about how it is or how it works.

But for Christian's, the afterlife don't really bother them much especially for those that have faith in their Christian doctrines.

Since Halloween is fast approaching fear has become the main topic in discussions in the web today. There are many kinds of fear which are common during Halloween season in which many businesses have taken advantage of. Here are some of this.

1. Fear of ghosts- according to Wikipedia this is sometimes referred as phasmophobia. Movie outfits is taking advantage of this trend as seen in horror movies being released during this season.
2. Fear of evil- This is in fact the most scariest thing during Halloween season. Top grossing movies like "IT" and Conjuring have this kind elemental being as antagonist. This kind of fear is simple to overcome. You just have to have faith in God and all these evil things will go away.
3. And the most scariest of all in my own opinion- It is the fear of my wife. Just kidding....

I feel the same way as a parent. I’ve also found since becoming a parent that little things that never scared me before have become something that makes me nervous. Is this in general or in relation to Halloween. I will take it in relation to Halloween. What scares me the most is any costume that is Gothic. Any costume that has whiskers and anything that looks devilish. I know that Halloween is Halloween, but don't you think that it carries some ugly spirit and karma. All those devils going around the whole night. Isn't anyone scared? I certainly am. I hate it when you are walking around on Halloween and someone jumps out of somewhere with the devils face.

In a serious note, another thing that scares me is "the future." I mean, what does it holds for us, individually and as a group. There was a time that I was really disturbed. I feel like ghosts were always there at night. Now I grew up and finally overcome that fear. But something happened and I felt like my fear is coming back. Months ago, I had sleep paralysis and it occurred several times. It happened to me consecutively. Not just every night, but after waking from a sleep paralysis, another sleep paralysis would occur. In that experience, I am not sure if there was a demon or ghost who was really near me. I couldn't move and I couldn't speak. As I try to shout, my own voice keeps ringing on my own ears and in my own head. Even if I have come across three sleep paralysis in one night, I am not afraid anymore and it made me even stronger I guess.

For a long time I didn't have much of an answer to this question. I've seen so many horror movies, read horror books, played horror games, etc. and I always came to the conclusion that, even if something startled me in the sense of a surprise, I was never deeply scared or disturbed by anything. Not monsters, zombies, ghosts, serial killers, nothing I've seen in any conventional horror setting. Not even common phobias like spiders, heights, drowning, etc. not even death.

However, recently I binged a show called Black Mirror. Amazing series, one of my favorite shows. I enjoyed every episode. There is one in particular which is by far my favorite episode, but I don't think I can ever watch it again because it disturbed me so deeply. It's called Playtest.

I won't give away anything in case anyone hasn't seen it and would like to, but I've never felt so much intense anxiety from anything on film. I'm not sure the specific reason it disturbed me so much, but I think it comes down to two concepts that I must be subconsciously mortified by:

1. Feeling like the entire world may be deeply conspiring against you and there's literally no one to trust
2. Losing control of your mind to such an intense degree that there is no coming back to any semblance of reality

It may have brought up some sort of repressed drug experience from my youth, but I'm not certain. Either way, I had to stop watching the show for an entire day because it messed me up so much.

When I'm sleeping I dreamt of running because of zombies following me and when I'm awake I imagine things will happen in reality and its very chilling for me until I decided to stop watching the zombie series.
