What was the first book you've got hooked into?

Before I became a writer I was a book lover. I read a lot of wonderful and amazing books. I invested my younger years in the world created by the authors. I have learned a lot of things from them. However, there was one particular book that I got hooked into. It was "The Greatest Salesman in the World 2". Yes, it was the second part that I first got hooked into because I have read it first before the part 1. I got hooked into this book by the amazing creativity and imagination of the author Og Mandino. I was impressed how Og inserted Bible times in his story. It was a real adventure to read.

Amazingly, as a young child, I was instantly hooked to the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. The main character's insight into the world and his mannerisms were very interesting to read, plus the storytelling of Arthur C. Doyle was priceless. For me, the many perils and challenges faced by Sherlock and Watson were exciting, and how they inevitably overcame their adversaries was a joy to read.

One of the very first books I got hooked in to reading are the Earth Chronicles, the books written by late Zechariah Sitchin which discussed the possibility that aliens have visited our planet in the past, directing man's evolution and progress.

I used to be a book reader when I was young but I don't remember what was the first book that got me hooked and I don't even remember my favorite books although I know that it was the romance books that I was reading. There was this book about oddities that I forgot the title. It was like a documentary of mysterious things like the pyramids of Egypt and the aliens. It was a nice read and it really got me hooked that I was not able to return the book to the owner for a long time.

Yes I agree with you and we have the same experience, I am not also remembering anymore those books that hooks me instantly. I really love reading from my childhood times until now that I already grown up because I learned many knowledge that are out of my expectation.I really like reading books about treasure hunting and the search for amulet because I have a vast interest in this particular topic. I was hooked up by these ideas because I want to know if some treasure is really true and as well as the amulet surcease I heard a lot of rumors about them and I need to figure the truth behind it.

When I was a child I absolutely loved Anne of Green Gables. I could have read that book over and over (and I did!)

I actually would like to re-read it now as an adult - I'm sure it'd bring back a lot of nostalgia and good memories.

I've seen the movie too, is there an anime version? I didn't know that! The movie is good but I had no idea there was an anime version too. I'll have to see if I can find it online.

I love this book too and I even watched the cartoon series of Anne of Green Gables. It reminds me of my childhood and I will never forget it. I hope I can find this book because I tried to find this before in a local store and found nothing.

I too love this book (and the others as well!). I was around 12 when I first read this and I just instantly fell for the story. I remember borrowing the books from a high school student I know because my mom refused to spend money on books.

I picked up a book in our home library and it was about the life of Sammy Davis Jr. I was intrigued because it had a picture of him as a little boy performing. It told his life story. He was working, singing, dancing and performing from the time he was a little boy and he always stole the show. It was very interesting and got me hooked on reading biographies and autobiographies.

I really love biographies and autobiographies too. It's always nice to hear from celebrities or other people in the public eye and read about the trials and tribulations they went through to get to where they are today.

It certainly makes those celebs seem more human and like the rest of us!

I also tend to love biographies since they show the manner in which a person was able to navigate various challenges in life to become who they are especially the icons in the society. It gives both lessons and encouragement.

The first book that I read and I was hooked up was the Our daily bread. I was fascinated by what was written there and it was good to wake up in the morning reading it.

After Comic Books, I got hooked with spy novels in high school. I only read Tom Clancy Books and it was really expensive so I had to save a lot of my allowances just to buy one book. The first book I bought was The Hunt For Red October and then The Cardinal of the Kremlin. I was addicted to Jack Ryan's exploits.

The South Sea Adventure by Willard Price. I'd not read adventure stories before but when I read this book, the story was so good that I wanted more of the same. I did read the book several times afterwards and though it is targeted at kids I read it a few times as an adult.

It's this book that had me read more books written by Price. The other books weren't as good as "The South Sea adventure" IMO but they are not that bad.

It is always nice to see how we are being motivated by books. This is something which is pretty okay and nice. I have not read that book, but it seems that it is one that can inspire and motivate those of us that are looking for this kind of motivation.

Harry Potter. Harry Potter change my life. As a child I never really love reading. But after watching my first Harry Potter movie, I became curious what would happened next so I beg my mother to buy me the book and that how I became a bookworm. It change my life in so many ways. I didn’t know how books turn your imagination, how can you vividly imagine scenarios through the words of the author. It aspire me to write, to write and hopefully to inspire others the way books change my life. It created a world for me where I can be me, I can dream, imagine and also create a different world that would someday be a place for other dream, maybe.

Harry Potter is also one of the books thay caught my attention. Eventhough reading it might take time because of its full of adventure story, I can say it will really bring you to an another magical world of wizardry. This series also taught me on how to make an attention catcher story that everyone could get hooked to.

Dante's Inferno is one that comes to mind as well. It is one of the best-known books that exist, and the premise is beyond intriguing. The author takes the reader on a tour of what might happen after death, all with an imaginary vision of what would be hell or heaven. I just could not put it down!

The first book that I got hooked on is "The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown. That was the first book I ever read and I really got fascinated on how Dan Brown made such great novel. From then on, I collected books and novels of Dan Brown. Haven't read it all, but I feel so happy whenever I got to see them complete in my table. I like its story as it have so many puzzles and mysteries that I can't even pause while reading. I felt the intensity of the story. The climax and plot twist is really undeniable surprising.

That first book I read lead me to my second book entitled Mortal Instrument, I finished the whole series though I am not sure if it is 6 books all in all.
The story is great, they even made a movie from that book which is also great because the lead role was given to Lily Collins and she is so gorgeous.
The leading man also is so hot just like what I have imagined. I wish they could make another part because I stil want to watch it.

The first book I really got hooked onto was The Diary of a Wimpy Kid. This book brings a lot of good memories for me actually. When there were times in school where I really got nothing to do or my best friends were absent for that day so I got no one to hangout with, I just started to read my book. It was so fun and great to imagine especially when it came to the adventures that Greg had. It was like you were really reading what he has gone throughout his whole life. It was very interesting and enjoyable to read and if I get the money I would buy the whole book series at my local bookstore once more.

As a kid (7-12 years old) I hated books! (Insane, I know!) Then I read a book called "The girl on paper" written by Guillaume Musso. After that I read a few other books written by him, Amanda Quick, Nora Roberts and Sandra Brown and became hooked to books!

THE UNDERGROUND RAILROUD

The Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 is caked in jargon. The gist of it is this: a slave is a slave no matter where she is. South Carolina or Massachusetts. If she has run away and is caught, she is to be returned. She is a carefully labeled piece of luggage. In my opinion the best book of all time, if you haven’t read it, i suggest you to do so!

The first book that I've been hooked to is a history book about the origin of organisms. I got so addicted I even draw the creatures at the back of my notebook. It felt so good to know things that others don't know yet. I am able to use that on school when we had tackled the topic. On the other hand, the first novel I've been hooked was Harry Potter.
