Was there a book that change your perspective or opinion?

In my entire life, I have encountered a lot of wonderful and amazing books. I have also met some intriguing and interesting books that made me stay awake at night. I can say that books made a huge impact in me and so many times in my life books made me to change my perspective about something. One of those great books is "A Leader in the Making" by Joyce Meyer. It teaches me a lot of things and give me a lot of insights about leadership. It gives me a different perspective on what leadership is all about.

Yes. I have read many books that have changed my perspective on many things. However the book that has influenced my life most is Dr Wayne Dyers, The Power of Intention. I read it when I was going through a very bad time. I was being bullied at work. It completely changed my outlook on life and empowered me. I left my job and decided to become an Entrepreneur. It helped me a lot on my self-esteem.

48 laws of power by Robert Greene was that book that I won't regret reading. It ended up opening up a bit of how we should always behave in some situations when we are trying to acquire power from the rest of the people that are around us.

".... 48 laws of power by Robert Greene... "

This book is something else. Seriously, the kind of information that you get to access in this book 48 Laws of Power is so intense that if you are not careful it would even throw you off your balance.

I tried rushing the book and it almost drove me mad, so I had to stop and regain my sanity. It's such a powerful book.

I only read the shorter version of the book and it really did not give me that much insight as you claim to have gotten from it. I think taht I need to look for the real and longer copy to understand the deep meaning of all the laws.

Maybe I'm just going check out the possibility of getting the book to read. I don't know if it's available in ebook? It would a lot easier for me to get it as ebook.

Pearls of Wisdom is one book that will never be easily forgotten in my entire life because it added so much value to my life in every aspect.

It helped to change how I felt, how I think, my attitude, and how I react with anything I do in my life. The book was a big inspiration for me.

I think that there was a book by Chinky Tan that I read before about saving and on how to gain more financial freedom which influenced my perspective and opinion about certain things. He is well known you tuber and a blogger as well who gives advises and tips into certain things. It was really a big help because I didn't know that I can make a saving out of simple things that I really did not give much importance about. It made me realizes that time is gold and we should not waste it for nonsense things. I was been transformed into a business minded people after reading his books which is really amazing and very informative as well because you will really learned a lot from it.

Yes, there are books which can be very inspiring and change our whole perspective towards life and our goals. I think the book that inspired me and changed the course of my life is a book titled " The Art Of Living". This book has been authored by William Hart and it describes in detail about an ancient meditation technique called Vipassana. After reading the book I was motivated to join the course of Vipassana. Once I successfully completed the course, it changed my whole life. Reading this book brought about the most positive changes in my life.

I think the book that changed my perspective in life is Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. I had read it during the time when I was graduating in college. It was one book that had a great impact on me because I used to be more on the negative in my opinion of things in general. It is nice to be positive with everything although it is hard to attain sometimes when people wanted to spite you with their harsh words.

I've been reading a book lately called The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. Yes, I have read a book that has a title "I am not a gog" it was really a beautiful book, about a middle age woman who has been bullied and rape in her college days, one day she got a mental breakdown and killed a person that was part of the football team in her college, which was the team that bullied her so much.
"It links you together, you see. Your laughter was the consummation of their bullying. If nobody laughed, they wouldn’t bully. It’s not just guilt by association. You were part of a system. The guilt was shared by all the parts"

That part of the book really hit me hard.

Wow, it seems like a shocking read. It's so interesting to read the perspective of someone that did something they regret, and how they narrate what happened from their perspective. People usually don't see that others can snap quickly, but because of a lot of issues that have accumulated over the years.

If I want to talk about books influencing my thinking and my way of living I use an acronym. B.E.D. It stands for Bible, Encyclopedia, and Dictionary. Those are the reading materials my mothers made sure was in our house. Any other books, we could go to the public library or a book store. But she insisted on having the Bible, a current set of encyclopedias, and a dictionary.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I really like that acronym! It certainly covers the important books to have - you can find the answers to just about any questions with those three books. I always used encyclopedias at home growing up for school projects and such, before the internet was such a big thing.

If there is a book that changed my perspective in life, it should be Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. I know that almost everyone is afraid of death and I am one of those who doesn't even want to think about it. But after reading this book, I realized that we should not be afraid of death. We need to accept it as part of our lives and embrace the reality of death.

I think even if you're not a book reader there are still other good mediums to find things to change your life. One thing I love and get inspired by are podcasts. I don't always have the time to read a book, but I can listen to a podcast if I am driving somewhere. TED Talks in particular are very inspiring and I learn a lot from them.

There is a book written by Lenin. Don't remember the title because I don't have the book anymore. Reading this book changed my opinion about one thing.

In Czarist Russia it would be hard to imagine that communism would have any impact. Nonetheless the Bolsheviks despite the fact odds of effecting change in Russia were very slim, eventually got what they wanted. It had me realize that nothing is impossible and even if it appears so, you just should do your best to accomplish your goal.

People always said studying widens one's perspective and that is exactly what books can make to one's life, it changes our lives by giving us new ideas, make better decisions etc. Most of the time the ideas in the book will become practical and useful in tackling daily chores and prepare us to handle daily demands. I believe reading books always provide significant change through constant introspection.

Books are good not only because they know how to move us to a new universe. Sometimes they change our reality. I think that you know that feeling in which you look away from the very last sentence of a book and you realize that something special has happened to you. Just as there are books that can teach you history or biology, there are others that can change your vision about life. The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, has been translated into more than 100 languages. It tells the story of an aviator who, after suffering an accident in the Sahara desert, meets a child who comes from an asteroid. The book will tell you the story of the Little Prince's journey through several planets in search of a true friend until he reaches Earth, where he will finally understand the true meaning of love and friendship. For me, this book deals in an unequaled way with topics such as love, friendship, the meaning of life, the behavior of modern civilization, etc.

At the age of eighteen and in my last year at school I decided I was an existentialist and read every book I could find by Jean Paul Satre. Eventually, I borrowed a tome from the library called "Being and Nothingness." This coincided with my writing in the margins (sorry!) as every paragraph I read seemed to have me thinking "but Jesus said." I was not a Christian at the time, but had been thinking about Christianity and reading the gospels. I concluded what Jesus said was a whole lot more sensible. I suppose that you could say reading "Being and Nothingness" by Jean Paul Satre changed my thinking by making me think opposite to everything that was written in it.

I also read the "entire Malthus Essay on the Theory of Population" and "War and Peace" in that year. Heaven only knows why!

After reading a post in facebook on how to become rich in which the writer recommended a book called Rich Dad and Poor Dad. I told myself that I won't lose anything if I give it a glance and so I did and it's the book that have set my foundation in Financial Knowledge.
It changed my whole perspective about getting rich.
I thought that in order for me to become rich, I just have to study hard and have a decent work but I was wrong. The book encouraged me to start saving and earning while I'm still young. I don't need to have big earnings I just need to have discipline and set a certain amount for savings that I can't spend ever. I'm planning to save then invest it so that I'm more secured even before I graduate. I still have a lot to learn and I know that it's not going to be easy but I'll never stop.

Hey there.
To be honest, I'm a pretty stubborn person. Barely anything can change my opinion except myself.
However, I must add, that reading several books gave me an additional insight about our world. Such books were Sherlock Holmes etudes. The way the main protagonist analyses things teaches you how to apply the same methods in real life. Usually I was hot tempered, but it teached me that you should always be cool prior to any decision.

The Bible is one of the most influential book of all time I suppose. Personally, books of history are the ones which changes my perspective in life. I am always wondering how people live their life before. What is wrong before which is kind of right nowadays and vice versa which makes me think that maybe there is no right or wrong, it's just a matter of preference and what do we believe in. If you believe it is right, then do the right thing. If you believe it's wrong and you're still doing it, that's the time someone becomes wrong.
