What email do you use?

Hello!

Nowadays, almost any person has an email, even an old lady in a far away rural area village.
The most common email is Gmail, but I've been wondering, what other emails do people use and why?

Gmail seems to be the most simple one.
What are your reasons for using a different one? For example yahoo and etc.

I've used Yahoo mail before but I changed to Gmail. I like Gmail better because it is very user-friendly and easier than yahoo for me. I don't like that every time you log in to your yahoo mail, you are redirected to there search engine. I want to go to my email and not search. I worked better with Gmail.

Me too. Didn't like yahoo very much. Plus with gmail, you have an google account and Youtube. I don't remember having that with yahoo. My sister has a Hotmail, she says it is very good.

I agree with you, I used yahoo before and it is really hard to recover a yahoo account compare to a Gmail account.

Gmail for sure. It’s got such a convenient interface and for a freelancer I love using it - particularly for file sharing and editing things in Google Docs as collaborative pieces.

I used Yahoo before because of the simple reason that it was the only thing I know. It's easy to use and reliable. I really missed the Yahoo messenger days. I used Gmail now because of its benefits. It's user-friendly, easy to access and reliable.

Why is it that Ivdo not see the goodness of Gmail? I use it but my main one is yahoo. Gmail filters mail so much that you miss some important mail.

I used Gmail currently, and I can use it to sign in on my android phone and it's very safe and secured.

Oh, my? This is a good question. Yahoo is my mail. I have Gmail and Live but it is not as efficient as Yahoo. Yahoo has served me well.

I used Hotmail for personal emails. However, since they made the change to Outlook, I have avoided it. It has too many bugs, sometimes an email won't arrive for at least an hour, and it basically stopped working. I use Gmail now.

Yahoo mail was the popular option in some parts of the world at a time. I think most people like myself use both the yahoo mail and Gmail email services. It doesn't hurt to benefit from the best of both worlds. To be fair though, Gmail is in the frontline and gaining even more ground like you rightly mentioned.

My first email was Hotmail which has a storage limitation that I have to delete the mails I had read otherwise the new emails will not come into the mailbox. When I learned that Yahoo has a bigger storage space, I tried it and it was better because I only delete some mails when there are more than 50 so as to give space for the incoming mails. But later on the storage got bigger and now there is practically no storage limit. I have tried Gmail but I am not comfortable so I am sticking it out with Yahoo until now.

I have also a Gmail account but then most of the time I am using Yahoo mail because it is more convenient and easy for me to use. I find yahoo mail to become simple and very attractive to use.

Before Gmail was widely accepted, I used Yahoo and Hotmail. In any communication with my colleagues and friends, I have been using these two mails (especially Yahoo mail). Therefore, the cost of changing to gmail is very high to me as I have to inform every one that I have changed and also have to make sure that every contact of mine sends to the gmail. It will become very tedious and annoying. That is the main reason I still use Yahoo mail although the features in gmail are far richer than Yahoo mail.

Aside from gmail I still use the yahoo. I have not change my email address yet and what I know is that Yahoo before was more popular than gmail so until now the reason why I still use yahoo as I haven't change my email address yet but I do have accounts in gmail since it's more convenient for me to use it.

I have used Yahoo before but I am using Gmail and I love it. I think this is the most common emails that people use. It has a larger storage than other emails and can access it anywhere. So far, I have no complaints about using Gmail.

I am telling you my friend with Gmail it's like the famous saying that when you go black then there is no going back. Once you start using Gmail you get hooked.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
@youngshark I totally get that! I used to be all about hotmail, but once I finally started using my gmail more regularly I just can't imagine going back. I still have my hotmail accounts and do still check them regularly, but for most my work stuff I use gmail now. So much easier and more convenient to use!

Tell me about it my friend. I forgot even my logins to Yahoo and even if you paid me to keep receiving mails there it would still be hard to find me using it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That is right and I totally agree with you. I have been using Gmail for years and I don't find any reason to stop using this mail. And I think even if there is a new email that I can use, I won't stop using Gmail.

Besides Gmail, I am still using my yahoo mail. It is my oldest account and it contains my most archaic contents. But I usually useit for personal alone. Gmail and G+ is for my business.

My main email is gmail but I also have a Yahoo mail. I just use my Yahoo mail though for back up or sometimes for being a recovery email in case I forgot my password from another account. Gmail is very easy to use and making a new one is very easy also unlike Yahoo but still I use them both.

Making use of gmail is something that I have found to be pretty easy to use. There are ways that they setup up the services that you won't just ignore that fact when you are making use of the email services from them.

In general I prefer gmail. Gmail is so easy to use and if you have okay internet speed you have no problem. They are also improving it to such a big extent. It is so easy to use your gmail as a business email. It helps to organize your emails into categories.I have a number of gmail accounts, as an option I also look outlook, which is a close second to gmail. I also have a yahoo address, but I don’t really use it. Yahoo can be quite slow especially when sending an attachment.Gmail is the best for me.

I still have my Yahoo email for some of my social media accounts. But, for security purposes, I use my Gmail for authentication. I also find Gmail easy to load than Yahoo.

I have forgotten the password to my yahoo mail account and all efforts that I took to recover it didn't just work out the way that I wanted it. So, I believe that it is all about getting to make use of gmail and nothing more at the moment.

I mainly use my gmail, but I do have an email from msn which happens to be a really old email since it was the main form of communication back then (anyone remember msn messenger?). I also have an icloud email but I don't use it anymore since my iPhone broke. I did use yahoo but gmail is just much better in my opinion.

I have several accounts on different Email Add company like gmail, yahoo and hotmail. I separate each account depending it's usage. I iike gmail for my youtube activity. I find it convenient and reliable. With my personal account, I rely on hotmail or outlook. I just don't like the upgrading system of hotmail in times. Thou, it is for security purposes but it made me annoyed. Sometimes, having a lot of accounts and password makes me forget.

I think gmail is the best, just appreciate it the most. Outlook is the mail I use but I see a lo of people using Yahoo mail... Don't know why is that.. Gmail in my opinion is the best, it's clean and I think it provides the best security.

It might be because when emails became a trend, Yahoo Mail is the most popular one. Thus, most people use them to create social media accounts that last for many years and they use it for business purposes ever since then. Well, on the rise of Gmail's popularity, surely, these people also created their own Gmail account, but, that can't just leave their Yahoo Mails because they hold important accounts and messages very since then. Even if we can agree that GMail is better, it's still hard to leave Yahoo. I speak based on my experience, by the way.

Outlook is so buggy and slow to load at times, I use it for my company email, and it sucks big time. Like I ask my colleagues to send me the files on Gmail instead of via Microsoft.

Formerly, I use yahoo before gmail. Yahoo was the most convenient before the arrival of gmail. I have only tried changing my gmail once to make it more formal. I am sticking to gmail as my permanent email. All of my accounts are connected to it but I am still planning to change it again someday because there are too many irrelevant accounts connected to it.

I use Yahoo Mail which I think is still the most popularly used email provider in the world. I do have both Yahoo and Gmail but the thing is I really don't trust Gmail.

"... I really don't trust Gmail...."

Please, if I may ask you to indulge me on the main reason why you don't trust Gmail? It also means that you don't trust Google as well because Gmail is an extension of Google brand in mail services.

I think I get what you mean when you say you don't trust Gmail. It happened to me before, and Google is like spying on the keywords you have on your mail to target you with ads. Don't you worry as it's all automated anyway, so it's okay I guess? No?

Currently, I'm a big fan of Gmail. I personally have more than 20 Gmail accounts and I manage all of them on daily basis.

In my opinion, Gmail is the best when it comes to being swift in delivering mails without any delays in seconds.

Twenty?! Dude, are you up to something illegal again? LOL. Like do you also use 20 mobile phone numbers to confirm/verify those accounts?

Gmail is a great source of email to use nowadays. It's so updated and easy to use. You can easily access and see all your messages whether it is on the computer or on your mobile device. The great thing about Gmail is that it is connected to your other social accounts such as Google and YouTube. Using this will have a great advantage. Plus it has Google Drive where you can place documents or files for later on sending or for other work purposes.

The only thing that annoys me with using the gmail is the very slow in terms of loading while opening the site. Unlike in yahoo mail that it is very fast which makes me more amaze than the gmail. But still I am using the gmail for my freelancing activities to be updated on some of my online sites and it is good to have a sort of alternative whenever yahoo would experience some problems in the future.

It really is annoying! At first I thought that maybe my data connection was slow. But after upgrading my plan, gmail still loads slow. I sometimes switch to basic html, just get to my mails faster.

I haven't experienced those on my laptop nor my smartphone. Maybe you're using an outdated app or browser hence the lousy service. I'm not sure.

Actually the my first email account was on yahoomail. i still maintain that email account on yahoo. However Gmail is certainly one of the best email service providers which is more user friendly and offers multiple functions to the user. Gmail is naturally the most prefered email for everyone and it is way ahead of all its competitors.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Concerning technology specifically email, it's always best to have different ones for variety and functionality. For example, you use a Gmail account if you also want to have access to its other services like Google Drive. You use a Yahoo account to have an alt, like for personal use and stuff. Yandex if you don't want to have your mobile number listed. Etc.

I only use one email because I'm forgetful, I hate to memorize another email and password because I always get confused and often times forget it.

I like it when I open my email and all replies or email that I received is already there.

Use a naming convention for your passwords. Like try to memorize a sentence and use the initials on it to make one. Just friendly advice, hope it helps.
