forums or blogs ????

I'm certain you guys are already familiar with blogs and forums. Both forums and blogs are great tools for communication, but the differences between the two lend themselves to different uses. Before choosing one or the other, we must think about the audiences, who you are trying to connect with based on our goals. I personally prefer blogs, it identifies the authors as a thought leader, because there are thoughts are so powerful, they can easily get connected with their audiences and built of subscribers can influence the author. Which one do you guys prefer?

Hello Optimismseo
Have a wonderful day.

I prefer forum. Forum users have a mentality to check his thread or new threads or previous threads. Moreover forum user can get the notification about his thread reply. On the other hand blog users can pass time on your blog or they can subscribe for new news notification from you or by blog comments they can see your notification. But on blog your audience is limited and regularly new visitors are coming from search engine result. There have no guarantee that the visitor will come again to your blog. So forum based communication is perfect to me.

Thanks
Centurion

You're right on this. The autocratic way most of the blogs are being run make it difficult for most of the users to really participate or check back to see what others are saying on the blog since the owner is in control of everything.

I do agree, Blogs are like Dictators, there's no freedom. Unlike forums where everyone could make their pitch Blogs are censored.

I have been active writing blogs and participating in forums. The sites where I was writing blogs have closed down and I am now on the lookout for sites that will suit me. I am not for lengthy blogs. I would consider articles to be kind of blogs. I have my own blog which I hope to pursue on a regular basis.

Participation in forums is quite a relaxing activity and I have nothing negative to say about them.

I can't really say that I prefer one over the other because I believe that both of them have their own place and purpose. I feel that blogs are there mostly for writers to post their content, and for other people to join in and comment on it. I think there is less emphasis on the community and more on the writer themselves. On the other hand, forums are a place for community discussion. Unlike blogs where the writer has the highest status, forum discussions have an equal distribution of "power." Someone posts a short topic, and then the community discusses it.

I like both, to be honest.

I've always preferred forums because they are a lot easier to manage because you can leave for a little while, and people can still post in the forum and discuss things. You can't have that with blogs because only you can post on it unless you have staff members or allow unmoderated guest posting. I enjoy forums because it's easier to have large discussions with your users and it's a lot more relaxing. If you're posting topics, they don't have to be particularly long because you can post about different things as the discussion goes on. With a blog, you have to post the whole content in one go. Readers only tend to post what they think about the content as a comment, it's really hard for your users to have a proper discussion via comments.

This is the exact reason I prefer forums. If you build the community up, it'll thrive while you step away for a bit since other people are helping to contribute. My blog would require that I spearhead all of the articles of discussion in order to keep things thriving, which would be a lot of work, and constant work at that.

Depends really on the author or writer or whoever wishes to have one - may it be a blog or a forum. Most people who just want to share stuff and writer articles with solid posts and titles, pertaining to specific things, would often prefer the use of a blog. While some others, who wants to have multiple topics that can be found on the same page, where other people can also interact, would always choose the forums. A forum is a common place for people who wish to share ideas and thoughts on different topics without changing websites, but instead, they would only change sub-forums located at the main forum.

I prefer to post comments on forum sites. I am sick and tired of writing at blog sites and not getting paid. Either the site closes down or ceased paying writers are just driving me nuts. Hence, I am concentrating at forum sites as for now which are easier to maintain, get paid and short sentences to hasten up my pace.

I've always been more of a forum-goer myself. Something about the whole thread and response-based community of a forum just appeals to me. I don't have it in my to publish blog articles on a regular basis and try and draw a community around that, so I'd rather find a niche that I'm passionate about and be a part of that through forums instead.

I like both blogs and forums. I just prefer one of them depending on my needs at the moment. I prefer blogs if I need more information. Blogs generally provide more information since they came from different sources that put ideas together into one article. Blogs are mostly more objective than forums sometimes since they are research based. When I am looking for testimonies and opinions that can match the facts I have seen from blogs, that's the time I read forums. Each time I do my research, I try to get information from facts and experiences/opinions and weigh them down.

I would have to agree that forums and blogs each have their own strengths and things that I like. I like both of them, Blogs because I maintain 2 blogs and I treat it as my kingdom. Forums on the other hand is a hotbed for information and knowledge.

I prefer forums. I love analyzing the ins and outs of forum software and figuring out all of the little gadgets and ways it works. I also enjoy styling forums also with color schemes, graphics and such. Blogs are good too, but forums are just my personal preference.

I'm going with forums any day considering the fact that it gives us the freedom to share our views on diverse matters unlike events that always play out on most of the blogs where you can't disagree with the blog owners without going into their bad books.

Forums are good because you get to interact with many people and share your personal views. You also get to increase your content faster and be able to reach a larger audience. Blogging is good since you can choose to be the only author of your blog or choose to hire writers who can post content for you. I prefer blogs to forums.

I think that's mostly where forums and blogs differ. People share their opinions on forums because it feels more like a community. Whereas on a blog, it feels more like a business. So they expect to be paid for most of their contributions.

In blogs, paying those who write content for you, will prevent them from using the same content somewhere else. It will be like buying posts from them.

In forums, it might not be compulsory to pay members but paying them will make them be more creative and invest their time on your forum without thinking about leaving.

I think paying contributors for your blog or site is fine. But visitors who're simply there to chill, chat and have a good time are extremely important also. The contributors who get paid to pitch in content are going to need folks to read and comment on their content, while giving their honest opinion on it and the authors writing skills. So both forum visitors and site contributors are important.

I love this both things. But still it depends upon a certain person whether he love forums or blogs. This two things are great because they are working no the same for those other that doesn't working.

You can't freely participate on blogs, unlike forums plus forums offer a lot of topics and the freedom to create topics as well as to comment in various topics, which doesn't happen on a blog. I choose forums because it offers a wide range of topics.
