Content Generation Idea: Using Video Tutorials
Okay now in my last post I spoke and advised you on how you can use written tutorials for coming up with content creation ideas. And in this post, I'm going to speak and advise you on how you can use video tutorials for the same purpose and reason. Now video tutorials are much more visually explaining over written tutorials since written tutorials usually tell you how to do something, video tutorials actually show you! Plus video tutorials can tell you with spoken words too since you can record your voice while you're making the video.

And much more than this! Video tutorials are usually preferred over written tutorials since it means people only have to watch and listen to the video as opposed to actually read them. It's still good to have written tutorials and some people still prefer them as they are usually step by step based instructions. But whether you prefer written or video tutorials is neither here nor there and irrelevant to the point of this post. Since this post is going to explain to you how you can use video tutorials for content creation ideas!

And it's basically the same process involved in using video tutorials for content creation ideas as it is for using written tutorials. You just need to think about some things that you can make a video tutorial for and then make it! The good thing about video tutorials is that they can have a double whammy affect since it's a video that you can upload to YouTube and out on your site or blog too.

How to come up with video tutorial ideas?

Try to think about what some of the things that really people that use your brand or site, product or service are. Some of the things those people need to do once they have purchased it. This would vary from niche to niche but there would likely be things those people do regardless of the niche anyway. These could be things like using your site, checking out or even subscribing to your newsletter. And those things might sound obvious to do and might not need much explaining. But it doesn't mean you shouldn't make a video showing people how to do it as there is always some people that would like to know and once they do, they'll be more inclined to actually do it! How to make video tutorials?

Okay this one will require some basic technical skills on the computer. You'll need some video creation software. There are both free and paid software out there you can use for this. You may already have it on your PC. But if not you'll need to find something good to use. Some free screen recording software is freeware today. One good such app to use is HyperCam as it free and doesn't watermark your video and lets you record audio at the same time. It has a very small learning curve to it too. All you have to do is record your screen while doing something that the tutorial is on. Whether it's on using some other software to do something or something else altogether.

Then when you've made the video, you might want to do some editing if it. You may want to add an intro with your site, business or company brand logo in it and an outro to it too. You can do this really quickly and easily in just Windows Movie Maker! Or there are also some other great (free and paid) video editing software tools you can find for this reason and purpose too.

Adding the video tutorial to your site.

After you've uploaded the video to YouTube. Be sure to create a post about it on your site. You don't have to put the full tutorial on words just a bit about what it actually is a tutorial on, why people would want to watch it, how it can help people etc. That's your content right there! Can't do that yourself or don't have the time to learn how to do it yourself?

If you can't or don't have the time to learn how to do that for your video yourself, and you don't have someone in your team or company that you can have do it for you. You can always hire a freelancer for this sort of thing! Just check out the video category on seoclerks or even create a WTB there to hire someone that can do it for you.

Conclusion
Creating video tutorials isn't and doesn't need to be hard to do and can be a lot of fun making them too. Plus they are super helpful both to the people that need to know how to do something and to your business too as you can upload them to YouTube. That way, they can be used to pull in more people to your site as well. A true double whammy! Content Generation Idea: Using Video Tutorials

I did used Windows Movie Maker for my recipe blog. I took pictures of the recipe, link them one after another in the video as still pictures with subtitles and instructions. Upload at Youtube, received a few hundreds of view and a few comments. Very useful to have tutorial videos for my blog.

Anymore, you see simple and brief cooking videos taking social media by storm. Video is such a powerful tool, especially if you're teaching someone how to do something like cook a unique or tasty meal! If you could couple your recipe blog consistently with video tutorials on how to make the dishes, you'd be a hit.

I, for one, like being able to see a quick instructional video on what to do rather than reading a list of steps when I try a new recipe.

I think this is an amazing idea. Video tutorials are good especially for SEO purposes. I also think it's a good way to avoid the popular Google Algorithm. I know people prefer to watch a tutorials then to read about one. You know exactly how long it is so you can plan ahead. You can also watch it in a restaurant or while you're traveling. This is an excellent way to spread content.

This is a great idea, especially if you have unique or innovative ideas and tips that you could share with an audience. Being that I come from a photography and video background, I follow a lot of channels on YouTube and Vimeo that are aimed at teaching me how to be a better photographer and videographer.

The ideas behind these channels is essentially what you're suggesting here: they're making tutorial videos on how to improve your craft. Making video that are short, concise, and give you pointers in a "listicle" format are really popular right now, especially on social media.

That's a nice article. Video tutorial for me are the best because it is more easy to understand than reading it. Watching is more detailed because you can grasp immediately if what the speaker want to say. Every time I am searching for something I always look for any available video tutorials first before looking for written one.
