Where Do You Write Your Content or articles?

Some write daily for a hobby or business to other related objectives. But my question is what is your purpose and where do you put your content?

For me, I love the whole internet, as a blogger and a forum owner myself and own a variety of social media pages. Such as Facebook groups to Subreddits on Reddit and so much more. I daily push content out there which backs up my blogs and posts to even forum threads and so much more.

Write For the Readers

If you want your content to be seen from articles to any other source of content on the internet here is my tip. Get into your mind "Don't think about writing because you HAVE to write because you want to" Sounds pretty simple doesn't it but also try writing for the readers as well as for your self!

You got to ask your self when writing good quality content, "Would I want to read this?". Some of these might sound silly but the more you write for the readers the more the readers will like and view your content!

Allow Interactions

But of course, write for your self as well, but put in the effort to think about what your readers might like or dislike. If your blogging and writing a good quality length blog post drop id questions which will get the readers involved in also make sure you have a comments box. Let them Interact with you and your work. You may get people giving you suggestions which will be ideal for your next Article!

Maybe you run a forum and need success with it, maybe you have made some content but either need more ideas or you want to work with your members. It is good to get a clear insight from your members, reach out to them. Make a thread on your forum call it feedback and suggestions. This will allow them to give suggestions about your forum or they might suggest topics to go with your forum theme.

This will allow more drive on your site and give you insight and motivation. Some forums die pretty quick "hell I hold my hands up some mine died", but I learned through the years and now own a much better one. It also depends on the niche, choose something you know well about. Don't make a forum about cars if you do not have a clue about them. It stands to reason these will flop, That is like a plumber making a forum about electric or someone who likes gardening but making one about IT, or SEO. You get the point right. But yeah they might make it a success but it will take a lot of hard work.

Conclusion

So the key is not only to write for your self but make sure it is also suitable for the readers. Dedicate time to write and find out what inspires you. Passion is the main thing write because you want to and not because you have to. If you have no passion then it won't last very long as a writer.

Currently, I write in many forums and this keeps me busy for some hours daily. However, contrary to what many others would think, I love doing this and for me it's something very pleasurable because I do one of the things that I like most in this world: writing.

I am the same way! I really like frequenting the forums, and I like it when I see the same folks there, like you, in different forums. It's really cool because we learn so much from one another in these threads, and, also, these forums make us feel less lonely as freelancers--I know this might be a bit "emo", but I think that it is true. I think the forums also give us very natural and needed daily practice in terms of our writing, and they are always out there waiting like an assignment for us to try our craft upon.

Personally, I think I write daily in more than 10 forums and 3 blogs and it consumes more than 10 hours of my 24 hours in a day. I don't just post good content, but also get interactive with those who visited and commented on my article. If always feel the need to respond to their opinion and get things flowing.

I started in forums too, and although I now have many different avenues for writing, I still come back to the forums as they are very fun to do and doesn't take too much of my time, perfect to rest in between the more difficult sessions.

I used to be a guest blogger and I must say that I learnt the hard way on how to also bring the readers into perceptive when we write. It's a long story, but I learnt that the readers are kings when it comes to what we write.

Readers are definitely one of the most important people, especially for blogs. They are your customers unless of course, you are not doing it for the money. You need to impress them and you need to keep them happy because if not then they may just end up leaving and not coming back to visit your blog. It always helps to write content and articles that are of some interest to these readers.

That's what I'm saying in the sense that keeping them happy should be the top of the agenda of anyone running a blog.

Writers have to think that every reader is a critic. Sometimes they will love your writing, and sometimes they'll hate it. But I think that if a writer would do the job, by trying to like to everybody, then there will be no writing at all. So, as a writer we have to accept critics, and thank the reader for taking time and effort to check our work. That is the whole point to write, to express our opinions, points of view, stories, and also to wake up feelings and responses from readers.

This is so true @Barida, if you are just writing for yourself, it would get to a point where your content wouldn't have any meaning to anyone thereby making it a useless piece of writing. But when you have your readers in mind when putting down your content write up, it's definitely going to get more people to take interest in whatever you put out for them, and in return makes you an authority to them.

I haven't started writing properly yet because my project is yet to launch to the public. But when it does I will be mainly writing as a hobby and business. My site will be a social gaming platform and because of how much I love gaming it will sort of be a hobby but at the same time it will also be a business because of the fact that I hope to grow and develop it to something where I can earn a steady stream of income to increase my disposable income.

I also have a plan to have my own blog but not now because my hands are full with other work. In the beginning, the planned blog is for a hobby since the niche is my passion. But now that I have been learning a lot from the forums then I am thinking of creating a blog for the money. With the ways and means that are being discussed in this site, it looks like so easy for the blog to earn by gathering a lot of readers from the social media. It's free so it is an attractive way to do the marketing.

One thing that I have learnt about writing is that it's not in the writer's interest to write for himself, it's only going to favor him more when he does his piece for the benefit and use of other/readers because, they are likely the horde you are trying to pass an information to. If the writing is for the writer alone, then there is no need of publishing it for the general public.

I write my own blog on Blogger and though it doesn't get tons of views, it gets some. In fact, when I first started it I thought no one would read it at all, but lo and behold, two years later and its had over 20,000 reads. Now this mightnot be a lot considering what others get but for me it is huge. My biggest problem though is letting people know about it. Because it is very personal and deals with my relationship with a much younger man who I have been with for almost eight years, I avoided hyping it on Facebook because I didn't really want people close to me reading it. This has left very little for me to push it on. I also am a little worried that its not good enough to go around advertising.
I will admit to suggesting a few of my posts on Google Plus though and that has had some response recently with others G+ the posts and following me on Google Plus of all things. Perhaps its time I stop allowing my blog to be buried under the piles of others out there and promote it a little. Any suggestions as to where I could promote it?

I am on several forums and writing sites where I get to write. I have my own blog that I am expected to update regularly. Some sites have requesters that ask for articles on specific topics - iwriter is one such site. I have written many articles there.

This is basically the life of most active freelancer, they take pride in writing more than 30 articles or content on daily basis. I actually set a work task for myself on daily basis to hit more than 20 post everyday. This constant writing helps me get better with my writing on several subjects.

When it comes to writing, that's exactly how I always feel: I can never get tired of writing. The more I write, the more I want to write. It's like it's a part of the fuel I need to live, haha. I think that only those people who also like to write can understand me.

I have 2 blogs at blogger about recipes. Not much traffic but I link my other articles at hubpages, blogjob and literacy base

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DarthHazard
Are the two blogs the same in terms of recipes? Would it not be a good idea to combine the two so that you only have to concentrate on one blog? At the moment, I'm sure your workload is quite a lot because of the fact that you have to work on both blogs separately. But if you combine the two then you can concentrate on one blog and make sure that you do everything correctly. And you also only have to focus on advertising once

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Good idea, I have already removed all the recipes on one blog and transfer them into the first recipe blog. Now, I am thinking of turning the 2nd recipe blog into an art blog where I am talented for drawing cartoons . As for the advertising, should I just put in adsense ads? How many in my blog?

I currently write content and articles for myself - my own blog and different clients that I acquire through the freelancing platforms. I also have two private, offline people that contact me whenever they need an article written which is around 2-3 times per week and they pay really nice money so I'm quite happy where I am right now. I feel like it's good to write for more than just one person because you learn a lot.

Tronia,
I think that it is really cool that you have so many venues going on at once, and I think that that is a very smart way to conduct your business and to market yourself. As a writer, you can spread yourself across many different markets and explore many different genres and niches. I think the only thing that could limit you in this department would be your ability to research well and your creativity in terms of style.

I own my own blog and I write all of my content and right now I have been doing build blog posts but its not doing anything for drawing members. So I am going to be changing it up and I am going to start writing how to guess after I finish my current build project. Hopefully the how to guides will start to draw people in.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think that's a good idea. I have always first focused on creating good, high-quality content before investing too much of my attention and energy into attracting masses of readers. I believe that if you first create the content and then focus on getting more visitors it's far easier!

I don't blog, but I've considered writing articles for other people before. If I were to have my own blog, then I would definitely write all of my own content, at least at first. My spelling and grammar is up to par, and if the blog is on a topic that I'm familiar with, I wouldn't have a problem publishing articles on my own for a while. But I think the ideal thing would be to bring in people with similar interests and knowledge to myself and all of us work together to publish articles on the blog.

I've been a content writer for quite some time and I enjoy it. Sharing your thoughts and learning from others. a two-way relationship if you are involved in a lot of forums.

I post at several forums every day, and I also "guest blog" on friend's blogs at times. I also do some writing or content on social media. I have two of my own blogs, but one of them mainly supports the work of other writers, so I don't really produce a lot of content of my own there. However, the other blog I work on is solely my original content, and I am starting to build a pretty good following, albeit slowly but surely (mainly slowly, lol). I have also done a bit of freelancing here and there, but this has been quite sporadic. I am interested in writing more articles, but I need to find the time to do the research that would entail if I am going to produce quality content.

I have been writing articles for different sites and clients but before that, I used to write more on my blog. I never wrote for readers and only wrote because I had something to write. Thanks to your educative posts, I will now write for readers since I want more views and feedback.

I also write for forums and it has enabled me to improve my writing skills and level of interaction.

I like to express myself in any way and any format that I can, and it's not always going to be in the same way. Sometimes I just want to write forum posts for site owners and engage in discussions with people all over the internet. Other times my discussions with people may inspire me, and I'll stumble upon a topic that makes me want to write a full blown article. Some days I work on the ebook which I've started on. Like with any form of art, there are many mediums to express yourself and I don't always feel like using the same one every day. The important thing is to just keep that desire to express yourself burning, because without it, you won't really want to do anything, anywhere.

DenisP,
I feel the same as you here--I just love to write. I find that different forums have a different feel to them, and I also find that I respond to different types of subject matter in different types of ways. My voice and tone changes, to a certain degree. depending upon what I am writing about. I do feel a sense of community with many of my forum mates, and this also changes the way I write in terms of audience. I am like you, as well, in that I always have several simultaneous writing projects going on at the same time, and each one of them seems to have its own "flavor" or unique feel.

"My voice and tone changes, to a certain degree. depending upon what I am writing about."

I definitely understand that. Not every subject is going to be suited to the same tone. It's the same thing with regards to the sound of one's actual voice in real life. Different subjects are best addressed in different tones and platforms. Sometimes a topic calls for a short, informal discussion on a forum, while other times it warrants greater attention and elaboration, which results in an article. It's good to be versatile and be able to address different topics in different ways.

Recently I have reactivate my own WordPress blog where I write my tutorials and other articles related to what I do, namely web design and graphics. I also have some blogs on Blogger on different niches, sadly I don't update them often.
I also write my contents on several pay for content sites. Lately, I have joined at least two forums where I actively write.
Why I write
I do agree with you that we should write with our intended readers in mind. We write, primarily for them. However, there are times that I write simply because I wanted to. Sometimes just to let out some steam. Because that's one benefit of writing, we can let our feelings out.

I have a blog that I treat like a hobby and it earns me some money on the side as well, although not really all that much. I'm just glad I have a place where I can express myself completely and have people read it because honestly I don't think I would keep writing if I felt like I was just writing them for the sake of it. Having regular viewers is nice because without them I think I would just stop writing and I would just have to find another way to express myself and without such a thing I think I would have a lot more stress and frustration.

Having your own blog is really a good way to get noticed. I post regularly as in daily without fail on my blogsites. Also I do forum postings and copywriting on social media platforms particularly Facebook.

I post my write-ups on blog sites I don't own and I'm okay with that. I'm not a pro who's hardcore about it since it's just my passing time. I love to express myself and earning passively. I do have my main job offline to keep. I make sure that I'm in balance on both priorities.

I do intend to create a site again in the near future. I just need proper time and preparedness for it. And when that time comes, I'll be writing a lot on my own site.

Writing is a passion I had discovered ten years ago. And since I made a good money out of it, I am still writing up to this day. My platform when I was just starting was the print medium. Blogs and social were not as prevalent during those times as it it today. I started making money by contributing press releases to major publications. My clients were happy because I was able to promote a brand, product and services on major publications back then. They were thankful for the significant increase in customer traffic and inquiries about their offerings. My client volume went up, getting clients one after the other. And I came up with the idea of quitting my regular job. It has been ten years, and am still doing public relations consultancy up to this moment.

Social media/ digital platforms have greatly affected my business. PR projects have come few and far in between so much so that I have resorted to business at freelancing sites available today. One can earn good money freelancing but have to deal with stiff competitions among similarly qualified writers.

Like most writers Blogs I do have my own blog sites where I post my articles. Aside from this, I post in relevant forums and social media groups. There was a time that I also wrote and contributed articles to various sites as a writer for hire. But nowadays my concentration is on my sites, my social media pages and groups and the forums that I'm active in.

Writing depends on where the client wants me to put the article in. I was once asked to write an article a couple of years ago. In my case, I just wrote everything in MS Word since the client will be the one who will put the article on the site. Another scenario is a different one. I encountered a site where you choose the topic you would want to write then you will write it on the platform that the site has provided. Same goes with transcribing and captioning, They have their own software for doing writing tasks.

I also agree with what you said about writing not only for yourself but also for your readers. It's true that you can't just write just because you have to. You also have to consider your readers. Interaction is indeed a good way to keep the reader's interest. This makes them relate to your write ups even more. I also like making my article informative where readers can appreciate what they have learned.
