Is it the money or the joy of getting an opportunity to write that helps you select a forum?

I like to write and get immense joy when I come across forums where I get to showcase my writing prowess.  Ofcourse I will not write if I am not paid and that I will do in my blog. There are forums where there is nothing but chatting such as questions asked about what one had for breakfast but those forums are slow but sure earners.

What is your choice?

Well, I like to comment on other people's ideas and doing forums is really a good way of understanding new things and to learn the views of people on different subjects and topics. Besides, commenting does strengthen and practice my vocabulary.

I completely agree with you on this one, even though I would accept the fact that I post to earn money but it's not only about money but to also get better with my writing skills.

Engaging in several discussion on different forums would give one the opportunity to get involved with different ideas from different people with different perspectives. This helps one to learn and expand one's knowledge.

I feel much the same way. There are some forum sites that I post on simply because I learn new stuff, I have a chance to interact with other like minded people, and have found that it helps my writing too.

Getting some money out of it (if it's a site that pays) is just a nice added benefit!

I agree with on that. Writing in the sites and joining in the forum is something that our skills in writing is being practiced. This is the good in the sites, we are paying for our thoughts and we enjoy it at the same time.

I feel the same way also. It is hard to write and we definitely want to earn. Somehow, we want to improve our writing skills and knowledge about everything.

I think you have a point there. If one were to compare time spent and money earned it is not worth being in forums but the hunger for knowledge is what users get attracted to forums.

That's true, learning thru writing is the greatest benefit in forums. There are ideas and procedures you can learn in forums that you can't learn on seminars and training's. Also the real life experiences of people you interact with is a great motivator and somehow gives you a better view of the same situation you might get into.

One day to day basis people use forums are place to socialize. Neither making more money nor proving what an awesome writer I am even crosses their mind. That would be like demanding money or praise for my oratory skills every time I chatted with someone at a bus stop.

So when you are making money on a forum you are trying to emulate that point of view--just enjoying being there. I try to do that as much as possible. I don't think it affects my writing skills in the slightest, but I am certainly only doing it at all in order to make money.

I choose for money at first. I would like to earn some money. Bust as I keep on writing, my joy for writing has come because I received money. The more money I received the more joy I have in writing. I am even looking for more places that I could write.

I am greatly encouraged to write more. Its because of the compensation in writing. So that I will have more joy. I need to write more and more. My life then becomes a life of writing.

I am active on various forums and there are many reasons behind which I joined the various forums. Firstly, I get to learn something new almost every day from these forums. I like reading others reviews and also give my own opinion. Secondly, if I have a question to ask or if I want to share something then I can easily start a discussion to so do. Thirdly, I have been able to make many new friends on these forums. So, I am not on forums only to earn but for other reasons too.

Are you on any forums that do not pay? I remember when myLot stopped paying although many said they were there for the interaction the moment it stopped paying the field was empty. In other words although there is not much money the earning ability keeps the flow going.

If I can write on some social media sites such as Facebook without getting paid, then I don't think that I join forums for the money. I enjoy writing and on a daily basis, trying to learn more is the drive that makes me join some of the forums that I'm a member of and doing so has helped me gotten better intellectually as well.

My sojourn in forums was brought about by need to improve my written English. But as time went by, I began to enjoy forums because I have been learning a lot, from the daily life to technical. And it's fun to be earning while learning, right? But I don't forget my part of the bargain that I should also do my sharing of knowledge. As much as possible, I write what I know otherwise I don't write at all. And from the looks of it, forum posting will remain my main line for a long time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
This was my goal and still my goal, which is to enjoy the time spent on forums learning new things. I have learnt so much that I doubt I would have been this good if not for the help of those aritcles that I read on series of forums that I joined.

Personally, I like writing more in forums where I am more knowledgeable of the subject matter because I tend to give more relevant insights, rather than just thinking about the money and contributing subpar discussions. It also helps me to meet the minimum requirements set by the owner when I can just freely express my thoughts because I am just essentially speaking from experience compared to inventing things on the spot.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
This is just like me in the sense that I don't try to write on every forum that comes around. I mean that what I always do when I see some forums is to scan to see if my interest are on such forums and whenever I discover that there is nothing I can contribute to such forums, I always see the need not to join since I'm the type of person that likes being creative whenever I'm writing and that has made things work really fine for me at the end of the day.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, I would initially check the forum first to see if there are areas where I can contribute in, and if the subject is too technical for me to understand or too boring for me to participate, I don't even try to signup since there's no point in wasting my time there when I can have more valuable contributions in another place.

"Personally, I like writing more in forums where I am more knowledgeable of the subject matter because I tend to give more relevant insights…"

This is the key factor for me as well. I don't know if others are really able to tell as easily, but I can personally see the difference between when I write about a topic I genuinely care and am knowledgeable about, and when I have to do research just to get the job done. I feel there is far more passion when I write about things I'm familiar with. When I have to do research for something just to add relevant information to the conversation, it can come off as very robotic and inorganic.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, it's also easier to talk about a subject you know as well, since you are essentially just talking out of experience and you don't really need to research; you can simply just double-check to make sure that your memory is correct. When you research about an unfamiliar subject, sometimes you tend to just copy whatever is written on the first website that you open, making your post sound too theoretical, or worse being just a copy-paste contribution.

I can say money can't buy us happiness. For me, I just think of ways to help other people and not thinking about earning money. if you love what you are doing, you will not find it hard to earn money. A lot of people are working for money. I cannot blame them because we all need money. I'm just saying that loving what you do will make you happy and that is more than money.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
I agree, true happiness isn't achieved through money alone. You don't even feel like working when you love what you're doing. As long as you have enough money for the things that you need and a little extra for the things that you want, then it should be fine and everything else is just a bonus.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
That is right. As long as you love you are doing and you are happy on that them money would be just a secondary. The good thing in the forum and sites are you enjoying writing at the same time you getting paid on that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DenisP
It depends on the kind of forum we're talking about. I cannot deny that there are certain types of forums that I will only write in if I'm paid to do so, and even then I sometimes have to do it begrudgingly. That being said, there are definitely forums that I would write in even if I wasn't being paid to do so. Usually these forums are on topics that I have experience or knowledge in, because I like to take the opportunity to help out or give advice to someone who is less knowledgeable.

Same here. I would be lying if I say that it is only because I want to learn new things from different people. I love interacting and sharing thoughts with others, but it be nice if you are also earning out of it.
But there are also forums that I am interested in sharing my thoughts because of my experiences and knowledge about it even when I am not paid. Same as to other social media platforms like facebook, I tend to interact and debate with people if I am interested with the topic Is it the money or the joy of getting an opportunity to write that helps you select a forum?

Actually, it is the things that I learn that encourages me to post in forums. Although I must admit that at first I was really attracted at the cost of posting on forums but after some time, I realized that it is not only the money that drives me to do so but the desire to learn more things. Things that I am not knowledgeable at. At the same time, I get to improve my writing skills and enjoying while doing so.

You're right. The income from posting is the first thing that I really want to know, and I admit it, I was posting before or participate to some conversation just to earn additional income. But lately I realize that, the topic of the forums really makes me interested to answer, and aside from that, It helps me also to improve my writing skills somehow.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Me too. Learning from what others share means a lot. It's valuable information. And sharing our own thoughts also gives them the opportunity to learn from us.

Forum writing does have its benefits, more writing opportunities open up that can earn you a considerable sum. I guess I'll go with the joy of writing followed by financial opportunities.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That's being honest and there is no shame about it anywhere. Some would just pop in and state the otherwise which is a practical lie, asserting that they post just for the fun and love of it. Who in this modern world does that? You subscribe with your money and waste it without making any penny in return. It's not something true.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
You're right about that and for me forum writing opened up a lot of opportunities, some people would message me privately for some writing jobs while other forum sites would have some contests which I would join and win. Some forums would have discussions about online job sites which I would get tips on what sites I can earn from. But the most important thing of course is that I'm getting paid to post. But again, I've been writing for a lot of years now and I've been only active in forums for a year.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I'm personally not really a part of any forums just as a member. I only tend to post around on forums where I can get some sort of benefits from for me. Most of them, I tend to just post around because of the signature space or promotion forums where I can advertise my own website on. Others I will be a member of because of the fact that I can earn money from it which is just perfect.

The opportunity to write, and also a strong interest in the topic or topics being discussed. Money is really second or third to me in that, there are always opportunities to make money writing... but if you have no spark or interest in the topic at hand, it's really doing yourself and others a disservice.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

If one really loves writing then getting paid should only be a 2nd priority. I write about things that get my attention, subjects that are interesting to me and I write to give my opinion.

Getting paid to write in my opinion, only becomes a priority when being approached, and later contracted for a job.

English is not my primary language, so I want to develop that also. Learning new things is much more better than to earn money. And, am I able to earn from this site?

It's more of the joy of expressing ones ideas on a particular subject that I like.
The writing and monetary opportunities that come with it are second in nature.

Same here, I am enjoying my freelancing that I am still at it for more than 3 years despite the meager earnings. At first, my intention was to improve my written English and then I saw the opportunity of earning. Whatever amount, there is a feeling of accomplishment when you earn something for your effort so I continued. But now it is for sheer enjoyment because I am learning a lot of things from the sites that I write for.

In a forum such as this there is more take than give I feel There is so much we learn but unless we write no forum is going to let anyone register. Having said that the joy of writing in itself is a gift that we receive and the icing on the cake is when we get paid for it.

Forums aren't exactly the best places to look for real opportunities to write and earn money from writing. I can turn to content mills for that purpose. Although it doesn't hurt to earn money off forum writing, I don't join forums mainly for the sake of earning a small sum of money. I always choose forums that offer lively and intelligent discussions of subjects that are useful to me. I stay away from forums where members have no knowledge of the forum's niche or thread and are obviously just posting for the sake of rewards or money.

One things for sure it is fun to do something you love while you are earning even a little at lease. doing something you love comes in first before the money. It will be critical if you set money first rather than doing something you love first because it will somehow affect your work. Find something you really love and find a away on how you can get living out of it is one of the adage of wealthy people.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I'm of the opinion that they both work hand in hand, as much as you are looking at having fun doing what gives you joy, you are still considering the prospect of making some money off of it because it's totally going to be a useless effort wasted if doing what you love and gives joy doesn't pay you, I wonder if it's going to be what you don't love that would pay you.

Well, I love to write just in general, and I am writing all of the time for my own pleasure, but if I can write about something that interests me, and respond to like-minded people who are doing the same, and ALSO get paid for this writing, then I would say that that is a winning opportunity across the board. Writing is pleasurable to me, and adding to conversations and threads in forums is a pleasure to me. Most forums do not really pay that much anyway, so it is a labor of love, and I think that a lot of us are out there writing in these forums because we are genuinely interested in them and in the content which we ind there.

The content, the knowledge, and the conversations that I got from the people in the forums are worth more than money. Besides, we are not really paid that much so most of us are here than money. Forums are a great way to share your knowledge and opinions with somebody without being bashed because you are talking with an "intellectual" that has the same interest as you. In addition, this is a great way to improve your writing as you will be given some advice from experienced writers.

Most posters do writing for earning a few bucks, which would like to waste his or her precious time doing something that doesn't pay them even if it's something that they enjoy doing? Personally, I wouldn't waste my time posting without earning which is why I take out time to make high quality content that would generate lots of traffic for the forum I dropped it on.

Writing is a great release for me, but what I really like is the interaction with other people in online communities. I think that's what draws me to forums. The money is nice, but I love sharing what I know from others and learning new things from others as well. There are people here who have experienced things I haven't and know things that I don't, and I love having the opportunity of talking with these people.

Their shared opinions also helped me to learn the things I haven't encountered before which gives me an idea for future. For me it is the joy and money that is really motivates me to join a certain forums. In joining some forums you would learned many ideas that are very helpful in our day to day life, because of this, we are becoming knowledgeable in few things around us. I really like the fact that your are earning while at the same time learning something everyday. Besides you also established a sense of belonging to other members on a particular site. You can meet new friends around the world that would really make you a greater person because you will be thought on how to interact with them properly. It's an extra motivation for me to write if I do come across a site that does pay for writing articles. I like to get paid for my hard work. However, that doesn't mean I don't write for free. You're right about just earning a little is some forums, but still much more enjoyable, and also, you will know how interesting your post based on the comments you have. although sometimes they need to interacts to earn, but still, the conversation is more better than to the comments in some articles.

Mostly I use forums to collaborate or in general just to search for information. I don't really consider using forums as some sort of writing practice, albeit that's really what tends to happen - after all, doing anything over and over again will end up growing your skill in that thing.

For me its a combination of both, writing is an art and definitely needs skills. A better way to improve your writing skills is thru forums. There are lots of things one can learn on forums like grammars and how to communicate with people. The best part of it is you can earn some while improving which i think is a win win move.

Originally when I first began posting on forums it was the money. But the more you post the more you realize that posting is therapeutic. Especially when you've have had a bad day and you find a forum that clicks with your mood and feelings, you start to look forward to posting on forums. This is also a way to improve on your writing. As they say practice makes perfect. You get addicted and post on forums for the pleasure of writing out your feelings.

For me it is both the money and the joy that brings me into forums, I really like the feeling of joy because you really learned something out of engaging into some forums. It is really great to be paid and to enjoy for doing something out of your idle time.

I'd say both. If you can earn while having the opportunity to write, then you're fortunate. But if I had to choose, I'd much rather earn.
