Do you treat your clients the same? - Even if they order 1 article or 1,000?

Some clients are what one would call, "big spenders" but I bet that you have more "low-ballers" to deal with on a regular basis. However, in case you're doing business with a "big spender" would you treat him or her differently compared to your other clients, or do you treat them all the same?

I personally have always been professional no matter if it's $1 or $1000 I will profit, and I would never treat my clients differently. Especially since a "low-baller" who place an order for $1 might be your future "gold mine". And if you don't treat them well, they won't place a second order.

Depend on what exactly I need to offer, if we are talking about hard to write niches, I will never accept anything below 20 bucks. If the niche is more general and I can produce content easily, well yes, sure, I may be inclined to make a long-term offer with the buyer.

In my experience, some people will just order and expect top level research and content that will blow reader's mind for just a few bucks. That's not the way things goes, if you are going to pay 5 dollars for 500 words, that's exactly the type of quality you are going to get, don't expect high quality stuff.

Thank you for your response, I appreciate it. However, I might have explained this a bit incorrect.

What I wonder is, if you treat your clients the same, no matter how much they spend?
If you offer 1 article for $20, would you treat a customer who order 1 article for $20 the same way as you would treat another client who ordered the same service with a quantity of 100?

That basically means:
Client A. = $20.
Client B. = $2000.

Would you treat both of them equally professional and all that, or would you treat Client B better than Client A due to the money?

I treat all buyers the same and this is for a number of reasons.

Firstly there will be a lot more $1 sales than there will be $1000 so perhaps all the little $1 sales will all add up to more than the one or two $1000 sales!

The other thing is that someone that is spending $1 today might spend $1000 tomorrow.

You never know how things are going to work out in the end, if you give a $1 buyer great service they might rave about you to a big spender.

I believe in karma and even if a customer is only spending $1 that person is still providing you with an income. Treat all customers with care and respect at all times.

I understand your point in being fair to all your customers. However, we cannot deny the fact that there is such a thing as a valued client. Taking into consideration the example of a buyer purchasing 1,000 and one who purchases only 1 item, it will take the latter 1,000 purchases just to give you the same profit as with the first one.

Yes, I honestly do. No matter how many or how little they order, they are clients to me. And they matter. Their satisfaction means a lot to me, regardless of how many articles I write for them. Besides, even if one client orders a single article, there is a very good chance that he will order more in the future. I know that there are many buyers who prefer to try out a writer with a single article, and then considering how pleased they are with the service they order more in the future. So even based on just that, it makes sense to treat each client equally and properly.

When I was studying a course in customer service, I was taught some very interesting facts. They stated that when people receive good services, on average they tell 11 people, but when they receive bad services, on average they tell 20 people. So there is more to gain in treating even that 1 customer like the boss they are.

This is because, whether one sells groceries, or heads the world bank, it is that customer, that pays their salaries. Therefore no matter what they spend, including window shoppers, they deserve to be treated with friendliness, empathy, fairness and be provided with sufficient information about a product or service.

It's always important to treat your customers the same no matter what. If you start treating a $1000 customer differently to a $1 customer then you start to have problems with your business because you could potentially lose a lot of customers who may not be happy with your customer service. Who knows, that $1 customer could order your services 1500 times whereas the $1000 customer may only shop with you once. That $1 customer is, therefore, a lot better for you in the long term because he/she would have been happy with your service and therefore would have been a loyal and returning customer. Never treat a customer differently just because they spend less.

I always treat my clients with an equal amount of respect and candor no matter how much they spend. You never know when your good customer service and courtesy will bring back repeat customers who will be willing to spend even more money for your products and services when they have it to spend. Never underestimate the word of mouth of customers, either. You always need to be even keel and have a strong and professional business sense in order to establish the way you conduct yourself as a blogger and provider of content.

Exactly, the right moment you stop paying same attention to all your clients, that's the moment when you start loosing them. As a client, I would feel really disappointed by receiving a different treat, than the rest of the customers. When someone decides to invest his/her time and money in your business, that's what's making your business grow up, so obviously is your duty to keep that client happy and able to keep doing the investment. Never take a client for granted, you might be surprised for the results.

Yes always. I can't see any reason to treat them differently only by the amount of work they request (this - at least to me - makes no sense). They are all the same.

It's obvious that attention is focused on the most important articles, but that doesn't mean that they are always the most expensive ones (not everything is about money).

I have always treated my clients the same irrespective of how much they will pay. I would rather focus on the low payers more because most high payers end up rejecting the article to make you think your job was lowly done when the fact is they do not have the money they stated. Anyway, we should still treat all our clients with respect if we want to maintain them.

Any good business person treats ALL clients equally. There's simply no other or better way to do business. You don't show indifference towards a client whether he or she spends $5 or $5,000. If you do you'll rightfully receive a negative review. Which will work against you in landing new and bigger clients in the future.
