I have been freelancing not really for the earnings but for the training to improve my written English. My long term goal is to have a blog of my own that I will be the main writer and probably have some support from my writer friends. I know of bloggers who are earning so much that they can survive mainly on their blogging. That is my dream that I hope to achieve before I retire from my office job 4 years from now.

That's a good plan, one thing i know about writing is that there is no such thing as one content fame. Writers have to build there credentials and popularity through years of consistent work. It's also where experience is build.

Yeah, freelance writing can really improve your written English, although you got to have at least a knowledge of some of the more common rules of the English grammar in order to get some jobs online.

I'm also doing the same. Right now, I've been joining a lot of forum to practice writing. I don't know but it really helps me a lot. Not only by gaining knowledge about other things, but reading comments of other people also gives me idea on how to write better.

That's true, conversation and expanding one's knowledge really helps in improving skills and know how. Also conversations thru writing is really a good way to improve both grammar and writing.

I started out as an events blogger and I enjoyed every minute of it. Later on i saw the potential of article writing specifically reviews and top 10 articles. I then got involved with other forms of writing that I can make money from. Writing to me is a constant learning experience. Honing my skills as a writer is my number one priority to reach my goal.

This is also my goal. I want to deepen my knowledge and improve my written English. I want to make a blog of my own someday where I can earn and write what I want. I want to write and express what's iny heart and mind through blogging. I want my voice to be heard and leave an impact this generation. But first, I have to improve myself and my writing before I can do this.

I think two years from now I will be a better writer already. It will take me two years only if everyday I keep on writing. I believe each of us have our own style. I want to be honed in writing.

I'd like my freelance writing jobs to equate to a full time income (or more). Right now it's just part time for me, but it's something that I'd enjoy being able to carve out a decent liveable wage from.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Corzhens
Freelancing for a full time job is also my plan in the near future. However I am not really encouraged by the present situation in terms of income that cannot even cover the cost of my lunch. But I am still hopeful that things will change for the better when I can give more time to my freelancing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It's definitely hard. I've got a few online freelance jobs but the amount I get per article is pretty small. It's good for building a portfolio, but not for building any kind of great income!

I started to do freelance as a part time job. However, I realized it can take your whole time, it all depends on the platforms and your personal issues. Just like you, I would like to get a better earning by freelancing, because so far it's working well but not as good as I want to.

My long term goal is to publish my own book in 3 years. Basically, I am working on my project which is a book about life. I am planning to publish it in 3 years from now. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it.

I'm really grateful that I came to know about these learning opportunities online because just like you I want to be able to work from home and work as a blogger of freelance transcriber. I know I have a long way to go that's why I'm making the most of all the learnings I get at the moment for free and willing to invest to take it further. I will have to find which one works for me better and work my through it. Who knows I might be able to juggle both.

Seriously, I don't have a limit set out for myself because I seek to improve by the day. A professor friend of mine told me one time that no one is perfect in anything that you are doing. So, it's best to keep improving and getting better on the job. I have my two books written and poem anthology coming up soon.

I love that your goal is to continually improve every day! I think that's a great goal to set, and it's a way of always ensuring that you're bettering yourself. Great job!

Thanks for recognizing the need to work on improving one's writing goals on daily basis. As we live on daily basis, we need to work on improving as we go on life. It's only a foolish individual that will go on living his or her life without looking at getting better on what you already know.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I feel the same way! I think continuous improvement is a meaningful way to live life, and it helps us realize that we’re never perfect and there’s always opportunities to make things better.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Chinet23
I think that that's really a great measure of achievement. Before we assess external or tangible results, it will be a lot better to focus on how we improve every day. This is a realistic goal that we need to set. This will inevitably lead us to achieve greater heights.

I have always seen myself as someone that is going to become a great writer in the future as well as getting the have a publishing company where my work such as conference notes, novels, articles, and lots of other Contents materials can be published. I am just in the freelancing niche at the meantime time to make up money that can help me in achieving the dream that I have.

I'm not a writer, but I think it's hard to make a goal about being writer. It's up to the ideas comes to your mind if you're writing books, and some of the freelancer writers, I think it all depends on the job, and i think if this is the source of income, there's is no retiree for being freelancer.

You are absolutely right. There are different kinds of writers. There are writers that write for free. There are some who do it because it is their bread and butter. And there are some who do it because it is their passion. No matter what your reason is, it is important that you enjoy what you are doing and you always make sure that you give your best in shot in any writings you do.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

aeon
That's right, if writing is your passion, you will get a lot of ideas by just observing things and there's is no reason for you to stop, and being a writer does not need the proper age to retire, with the technology right now, you can still write any articles, you can be a blogger.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NesMarcos
Certainly! Writing doesn't require an age limit. Anyone can write, no matter how short or long it is, no matter what kind of story it is, and no matter what profession you have. As long as you have the passion to speak everything in your mind, you can be a writer.

My long term goal in writing is to have a very successful blog and online store that earns good money which I would use in supporting my family. To achieve my goal, I need to develop and nurture my writing skills and the best way to do that is to write daily by doing writing jobs.

My long term goal in writing is to finish a novel that I could put my name in front of the cover as the Author. It is indeed a great dream of mine. I always wanted to write novels since I love reading books but everytime I try to start writing, I always end up not finishing it. That is why I hope, someday, I'll be able to finish my own written novel.

I'd like to become a better scriptwriter and eventually write for bigger film productions. Maybe not for Hollywood (at least not off the bat), but for a larger organization than just my group of friends. I don't really have a time frame for this since I'm working through grad school and working full time right now, but hopefully sometime in the 5 to 10 years would be ideal!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

My husband had that ambition before. What he did was to attend workshops that were conducted by known script writers. The workshop is not only for learning how to write scripts but also a way of connecting to the people in the film industry. Unfortunately, it is too hard to sell a script. He had only 1 script made into a movie. Maybe if you can be more sociable with the people in the industry then you can get more connections and be successful in being a scriptwriter.

I have no long term writing goal because it's not really my profession and writing for money is not something I'd want to do for a very long time. I am not that confident about my writing skill but I do feel that it's something that I want to enhance because it's a very useful skill in any career or field of interest. It would be nice, though, to publish my own e-book, make passive income out of it, and at the same time earn CPD units for my professional ID.

I have not really thought about my long-term goal when it comes to writing until I read this topic. I was doing freelance writing for a few years now. I must admit that the money I get from it may not be that big but at least help me to pay some of my bills. Apart from the little money I get from it, I see writing as a hobby. It is something that I do to exercise my mind and keep myself updated of things around me. I enjoy writing so I guess I want to continue doing it and level up. I started doing blogs but still needs to improve on being consistent in posting. I would like to also see myself doing novels. Even if I don't reach the "bestselling" title, I am already happy to be recognized and be called as a real writer.

I'm not sure that I have completely thought about writing long term, however I know that where I am with my writing is not where I want to be in the next year or so. I would love to be able to earn money as a full time writer. I would like to improve my writing to such a level that it is in demand. I can ask for whatever price I want per word and I don't have to write pages and pages just to earn a few bucks.

I'd like to churn out a bunch of ideas with a snap of a finger. I guess that's my long term goal. It's the most time consuming and brain scratching step of all when starting to write. I need to let go of my restrictions and come out with lots of ideas on the fly.

My long term goal is to write a book in next five years or ten years about the countries that I will be visiting. I will write about my experience in their country like in their culture, food, and clothes. It will be really expensive so I need to start saving money now.

The truth is my ultimate aspiration is to write a wonderful article or blog. I want to write in the newspaper as a editorial writer so that I can share my point of view in some current issues because it may help others to get awaken into the confusion of the contemporary issues. In conclucion, I write because I want to get better and better and I hope that someday I mau reach my goal.

2020 is my Get Rich or Die Trying! date. LOL. Long-term Writing Goals I picked it because I like round numbers and we're so close to that year. Time passes very quickly and I consider 2 years (2019 and 2020) to be long-term enough at my age. LOL. Long-term Writing Goals My goals are to earn consistently and to once again be able to report real income to the IRS. Some people complain about paying taxes. I'd would be happy to have income to pay those taxes. Writing is included in accomplishing these financial goals. But other legitimate means of creating income streams are also included.

I like the part where we get to the point when we can actually say that freelancing income is as lucrative, if not more lucrative, than income from desk jobs. And what a better way to prove it than filing an income tax return that reflects that income? I believe that it's the stamp that says a freelance career is as legit as any career. Writing is just one of my sources of income but it has been a consistent provider for the past four years of my online freelancing career.

One of my long-term writing goals is to write a motivational book about faith and spiritual journey. I don't have any theological degree so that can be a long shot. It doesn't hinder me from aiming for that goal because I want to write from a perspective of a layman and perhaps cite information from those who are considered as authorities in this area.

I haven't decided to settle with long-term writing yet. I am more interested to have a business and I guess I will consider writing as past time and also a way to continuously practice my skill in writing. Writing is one of my interests when I was a kid, but when I become an adult already. It seems like it isn't what I want to do in a long term. I can do writings but I would just hold on it for a living especially when I have my own family that's why I am more interested with business.

My long term goal is to have my own blog. Writing my own content and eventually write my first book. It will take a lot of study and writing just for me to be ready to start my dream as a websit/blog owner. Along the way I'll get improvements in my writing style, grammar and vocabulary. Fortunately, thanks to this forum because I could practice and learn many things about writing. I also would like to thank all the forum contributors. Because of your post, I really do learn a lot from the experiences that you share in this forum.

My long term writing goals:

- write several non-fiction ebooks.
- earn a decent income from writing an ebook every year.
- teach others how to be better writers after I've sold a hundred thousand or so ebooks.

I haven't made much progress in the right direction yet because though I had plans to complete writing my first book before the end of the year, there is still a lot I don't believe it will be possible to achieve this first goal this year.

What I really want is to have my own blog and earn from it. I know that it takes a lot of time and patience but this is one of my goals. Blogging is a great way to share your experience, thoughts and a good way to inspire and motivate people and at the same time, I also want my blog to be profitable.

I actually aspire to be a successful blogger someday. Though it is not a very easy path to take. I know that I have taken the path with people who can help me reach my desired destination. Honestly, my timeframe is roughly 5 years. It's kind of long, yes, it is because I also have my full-time job aside from this. So, it's hard for meyou to balance my time as of the moment. I'm still searching for the right momentum.

Personal achievement usually. I really like writing, I enjoy the system, and I revel in running with the folks that contribute to bringing it to marketplace. And I just like the idea of contributing in my own little manner to a craft that has existed for lots of years.

They are some people who like writing. However I don't buy all this I'm writing for the pleasure for it. Most people I know are writing to make money even those who are not particularly good at it(Its good to be real.) My long term goals as a writer is to improve my writing in terms of content, speed, technicalities and creativity. I want to do this so that I can earn more money from writing, not so that I can become a good writer. As I said I think very few people care about that. I'm not interested in the celebrity or in fulfilling some imaginary creative part of me.

I am a complete newcomer when it comes to the field of writing and freelancing. I am right now trying out everything that I am interested in and then set my goals for the future. However, creating my own blog is something that I am thinking about as a long-term goal. will I want to earn a living with blog writing, I really have not thought about it. I think in the current scenario, I am not sure how successful I will be in earning from my blog. Nevertheless, I will definitely want to have my own blog in the future.

No long term plan here, I just want to write and keep getting paid for it. I always dream of myslef in a small bookstore facing a line of fans, each clutching my book, and waiting to get it signed and maybe have a selfie with me. This is a passion turned money-earner turned hobby for me. I appreciate that I am getting paid, but more than that, I just like to write about anything and everything every day.
