The only trend that I can see now is the dwindling number of active forums in paid forum sites. Some 3 years ago the list of those paid forum sites are long and lasting. But now I would see one forum coming in for the needed contents and after a few days it will be gone. They say that forums are giving way to social media that people are more interested in posting in social media than in going to forums.

This has definitely been something I have noticed too. I only got into forum posting in 2015 and even then there were so many more options compared to now. I don't know if people just aren't paying for content anymore or they're finding alternate sources to get their content from.

True, I have noticed this changes in my short time as a freelance writer. I also think this is because people prefer to go to social media than subscribe to forums. Personally, I still prefer forums than the social media because in forums you can be assured that you are discussing in a community with like minds. Unlike in social media, some sites are not properly moderated.

Same here. I prefer forums. Specially when getting some sort of useful information in my daily life. Sometimes, I spend more time sharing info or reading contents in forums than in social medias. But when it comes to entertainment, I prefer social medias.

That's true but i think some writers are still going through a process of flexibility and innovation. Before writers contents are more often available on sites and articles. Now that social media and other platforms are available writers are evolving to a much more divers means of writing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

MomoStarr16
Yes, social media helps all the writer to improve more and more. Unlike the old days, only few people got to write an article because they don't have the medium or place to write. Nowadays there are lots of internet sites that can put our articles for them to read for free.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

fishbate
Yup, writers has more means of publishing their articles than before. It maybe because the power of writing and information nowadays are very open. Also the competition in writing is now higher that's why there are more writers that produced high quality articles or content.

I agree diversity has encroached into the wlrld of writers. Like myself I started out as a simple article spinner but now I have so many writting talents. Blogs, seo, copywriting, etc. It is a good thing the way I see it since I can always find something to do.

In the minimal time that I have actively participated in paid forum sites, I also observed the decline. I have heard from the reviews before how forum sites are promising. Too bad I didn't get a taste of it but I get other benefits like learning which is more valuable.

Yes that is right, paid to post forums are now becoming the new trend in the online industry today because of its being very convenient and easy to performed. Many people are really enjoying it especially me that a die hard fan of those sites. Although the earnings are not really high but the conversations are really great and enjoying. It is really a good time to relax and unwind for a while and could be a great source of extra knowledge.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

MomoStarr16
In my own experience it is really an awesome trend nowadays. I enjoy it personally and for me it is one of the good thing that happen in the internet.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think that their convenience to both writers and site owners is just desirable. The only one problem is that some of them just do not know how to set themselves up properly to manage both sides. This has made some last for only a limited time in the industry after which they fail.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

True. I like to do paid to post forums, more than just gaining points or earnings, you also gain experience, and learn from other comments. I've been able to get amazing tips, advice, and improve my writing a lot. Also, most of those comments and posts, are based on real like experiences, and the different opinions on them, have led me into a good path to solve my similar situations.

I have observed this year that there are new post to paid forums that are circulating in the web, which is mainly focus on advertising some product or services and creating content for thier websites. It is really great to have this paid to post forums because of giving and sharing of knowledge by other members of a certain site. I learned so many things through some forums that is why it is one of my favorite pastime whenever I feel bored or nothing to do for the whole day.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Dear esteban123, which post to paid forums would you suggest? So far, I haven't been able to find forums related to health field, and if you can do some recommendation, that would be really appreciated. Do you know any good advertising forum, that is really working to get good earnings?

I second this. If you have new information, please do share. Or better yet, send me a private message (if ever there's a feature). I am very much interested in learning more about it if you don't mind. Thanks!

You know that just by getting to post you evaluate posts and get to read about how others are doing it. By getting to read content from other people I have also gotten to learn a lot as I go through such comments. There are replies which I have read from many people that I have gone on to practice and I appreciated the fact that they actually did work out.

I just started posting in forums this year but I noticed that one as well. I have several experiences wherein I will subscribe to a forum and do the required post but just the following day, it is inactive already. The result is you have to find a new one where you can continue doing forum posting. I found out about paid forums a bit late so I wasn't able to experience earning from it while it was on its peak .

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Alymae
The same here. I just started on paid forums. It's a pity that I haven't earned a lot in this area because as you've said the site becomes inactive the next day. I really like doing this not because I earn but because of the learning I gain in forums. Sharing opinions and knowledge is a good way of learning. I get to broaden my horizons and I am surprise about the things I learn everyday.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Too bad I came a little late too. I've been posting for just a month now and I've heard that it was the same thing as it was before. I've heard some reviews about it that's why I got interested in trying it out. It looks like it's getting harder to earn points. But the experience is great because I've been learning a lot.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Exactly. I've posting for almost 2 years, and when I started I could post the whole day, you could find hundreds of forums and blogs, with all different topics. Nowadays, it seems that is just the same websites, same opinions once and again, and it gets really repetitive and boring.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

superlicca
Same here, I also experienced subscribing to forums and then became inactive the next day. I got points from these forums but I felt bad that the forum won't last. I would love to be a subscriber in a forum where I can continue to post and earn points.

Sites have really been going under. I can count more than ten sites that have disappeared. It began by Bubblews. This was a site that trended online some years back.

I do think that you're right in saying that more and more people are going for social media than forums. But I really don't think that forums would ever become obsolete. There would always exist a few quality forums which are the best in their niches.

Another thing that could happen is that a forum can evolved into a social media platform or the other way around. There's a lot of possibilities that can happen.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ajahcuizon
I agree on that. Eventhough I'm just a beginner in this field, I noticed how the number of forums diminished. Before I could earn in just a small period of time, but now I have to spend twice as much of those days before I could earn the same amount I was earning before. Maybe it is because people tend to post their ideas and contents through their social media profiles that forums are now being forgotten. I hope that forums will increase in number and continue in growing.

I started doing paid forum posting last year. I thought it would be an alright side project to generate a little extra money, as well as keep my writing skills sharp.

The beginning of the year went quite well, and I was making a fair amount of spending money. However, as the months went on, the number of forums began to dwindle.

This year has been slow, as I’ll make maybe $50 on a good month. It honestly does feel like forums are going out the window, and paid forum posting is going out with them.

The trend of forums us really undergoing a metamorphosis. Things are changing drastically. Social media will also change too.

There are only two months left before we say goodbye to year 2018. Next year will be 2019 already. This year was a writing year for me. I have just started writing on forum community. I knew about this from YouTube.

I am thankful to James's video about getting extra money through online writing. If not for him I will never be here. I could have done other things. I am very much thankful to him.

I've been writing in forums for only a year now and as a social media blogger for 4 years there's a big difference between social media and forums. First there's exclusivity, not all people knows about forums and not all can join it. Unlike social media groups which anyone can be approved in. Also forums have specialty niches which social media lacks among other things.

Nothing new and different. It's always the same thing that has tormented writers. Somebody stealing their stuff or plagiarism. It's not a trend. It's a given. Writers know it could happen to them and they do whatever they can to protect their intellectual property. I am in an online writing community. A friend told me she saves unpublished content in her account at the site. She says it's a record of when she wrote the original content. If somebody steals it and she challenges them, she says it's her proof! It's dated and documented. I never thought of doing that. But we all learn ways to take care of ourselves.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NesMarcos
I would have to agree with you. Some or may be it better to day a lot of 'some so-called writers' do plagiarism or stealing some writing contents on blogs, forums or even in some social media platforms. I have not heard someone who stole a writing content put behind bars, may be that is one of the reasons why they are becoming more and more these days.

Well there are people that have no sense of honor and there's always possibility that these people just won't quit, copiers is like any virus they just re spawn and reinvent their selves. It's good thing that your friend a strategy to make her work documented. The only thing that we can do is to be vigilant, there are people that are good being bad...

One thing that will definitely pose a serious challenge to freelancer is the situation with forums and blogs that are available for them to always keep working on daily basis. From my observations, it shows that the number of forums we have that are always active is dropping by the day and should it keep going this way, sooner or later, there would be no forums to post on.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Youngshark
I have also noticed this problwm. Lately it is difficult to make even 5$ online in a single day blogging as comapred to thw earlier days. I just hope that the proper sites can rectify any errors and enhance oyr earning potential.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DenisP
Thankfully blogs seem to be growing in popularity. A lot of budding writers—myself included—are opening up blogs as a means of getting their creativity out, as well as potentially making a shiny penny from ad revenue.

Not everyone is going to get popular, but some definitely are. As they get more and more popular they’re going to need more content, which opens up work for potential guest writers. I’m hoping to see the blogging industry continue to flourish over the next couple of years, especially as people start to lose faith in corporate sites with bias writers.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
This is absolutely true, blogs are getting better and better by the day. In as much as as forums aren't taking the same pattern of growth, blogs seems not to be affected in any way. I think that the success rate of people getting into blogging is why it's on a constant growth, who knows it may soon rival other social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Definitely but the fact that writers have become numerous means that the demand for their talent and skills is more than supplied. I do not know if it is just me who feels that writers have bloated and as such their supply is in excess. You really have to up your skills such that you are above the general public and can appeal to those who you write to.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Chinet23
Unfortunately, from what we can see on the trend, it's not far from happening. There are only a few which lasted long enough. Some forums only last for a day. There was one forum I really like because I learn so much regarding opportunities online and reviews of websites. But that one ceased to go active as well.

I was also a victim of swindlers. I was told to make four thousand word story and pay me at a certain amount. I was not paid after I submitted the project. Another issue for content writters are greedy content mills and bidding sites. What I really hate about this content mills is that they pay you really low while they sell your work to a very high price. It is so hard to be a content writer nowadays.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
There are lots of scammers and swindlers online especially when it comes to freelance work and content writing. I believe that most of us have fallen victim once in a while and it's all because we are new to the job and don't know much to work safe. I'm sure that once we all get scammed once, we seat up and take the necessary precautions against such repeating again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

anchoreztin
You are right. I was just new then when that happened. You know I cried that night when the person blocked me. I made that 4000 word story until I have 3 layers of eye bags and 5 litters of caffeine in my blood vessels. ???? Anyway, now I can laugh it off because I always believe in "what goes around, comes around"

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Chinet23
I'm sorry to hear that. I actually joined a site as well it just so happened that there is often no available project that's why I just let it slip through my fingers and have forgotten to check the site again. It looks like we really can't do much and we have no protection against scammers who will not pay for the work done. For sure they can't get away with that easily, there will always be consequences with their actions in the long run.

Content sites have also introduced tough rules and rating systems. This has seen many writers getting locked out even when they have great skills. The regulations on the areas from which people can sign up have also become tough which has seen many writers from african and other third-world countries fail to get the proper access.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I think this is hard - I've seen people get poor ratings just for disagreeing with a site owner, for instance, and I think that site owners should be more impartial than rating someone poorly for simply having a personal disagreement on a topic.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Youngshark
Too bad that some people out there just cannot accept positive criticism. I always see that as the real beauty in character when you are able to agree with those that disagree with you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Yes, it's also something that shows a great deal of maturity! Often when people just lash out when they don't agree with someone else's opinion it's a sign that they're still pretty immature.

I think it's okay to not agree with someone's opinion, of course - but the way people respond reflects a lot on their character, absolutely.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Youngshark
Exactly. When you feel that you do not agree with someone or that you have been corrected in a manner that you do not appreciate or uphold, can you atleast try to extend the olive branch and show the other person how it is supposed to be done.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I think that the issue has to do with the constant low quality contents added to most of these sites that results in the administration making tough rules and regulations that makes posting difficult for both the good and bad writers. It's a situation everyone have to face and work on getting better because it's the only way out of such mess.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

There are really a lot of scammers online, we should be very careful on the different sites that we are going to deal with to avoid problems later on. There are really a lot of sites circulating around the web that sometimes would promise to pay us for our efforts but then would end up scamming us.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, thank you for the advice. A felt relieved because of the outpouring support. I will keep this in mind. Anyways, I am still grateful of the experience I had because I learned from them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Oh thats bad, thinking about how you invest your time and effort on making that. There are a lot of scammers nowadays. Maybe they just stole your content and post it somewhere as if it is their own idea.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Youngshark
This is a real problem that needs to be adressed. I for one do not accept transactions where it seems like the other party is going waaay beyond their limits to impress me. If they offer promises that are too good, always think twice because there is a catch somewhere.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It is sad to know that forums are now being considered to be one of the 'good old days' things. It may be because of the social media, some people would want to express and write on their profile pages than in forums. Being a freelancer may not be able to provide high salary, but atleast you are still able to receive money. Also, because of the continuous growing of the internet, some people would take advantage of it. It is sad to know that some people will make us work and don't pay us, I mean, we all just wanted to earn money for our needs, we should steal the work of other people for our own desires. I hope someone could take care of these issues.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I do think social media is a big part of it. People are often turning to Facebook groups for things over forum sites, at least amongst people I know - so it's harder for forums to be successful or frequented by a large number of subscribers. I think that definitely plays into the decline for paid forum sites.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Plagiarism is the common issue that I hear from different people. Since a lot of job opportunities as a writer is emerging, some people tend to copy someone else's work that has a great content. In this case, they will be able to save time and provide an impressive work to their clients. But this kind of act is very alarming and needs to be stopped because It does not just affect the original owner of the content but also the clients who hire this kind of writers. Clients pay for your original work and not to steal other's creation.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
This is the point where it always get me angry. I mean when someone pays you so much to compose original contents for them, it is not always wise for you to now leave it and start focusing on other things that does not make the work original. I hate to copy works as I believe that I can create contents as long as I work towards being creative.

One good thing i noticed is the amount of opportunities today for freelancers are far greater than before. There are platforms nowadays that are open to freelancers that doesn't exist before. But of course, competition now is greater and i take it as a positive thing because it will push writers and freelancers to pursue a much more quality service.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Fake news is also something that plagues writers of all kinds. It begs to ask the question "Is everything written online fake?". We have gotten to the point where it's not only The Onion where fake news is found. Fake news is almost indistinguishable from the truth now and people are more susceptible to these kinds of articles floating around the web. I guess it all comes done to grinding your way to become reputable enough to not question if your content is fake or not.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you. Fake news is one of the things that make an article in the internet become not reliable. I become careful in the things I'm reading. Fake news really damage the reputation of internet. There so many articles that can be seen in the internet that are fake. You better check or research for more if you really want to know the truth.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Ah, this is a good and relevant one these days - it's hard to know what is legit online and what isn't. Even so-called reputable news sources have found themselves publishing fake news, so it can be easy for people to get it wrong, even if it's unintentional.

For me the trend now for the writers, in a good side, is there are now lots of legit sites that will pay you by giving them your writings. Unlike the old age, it is hard to find someone that will buy all your article. Nowadays it is easy to find one, just access your net and you will see a lot legit sites that pay for articles.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

There is this trend where writers are rated to get the best from a crowd. The best will be chosen and maybe will be paid highly. What I do not know is whether search engines recognize the ratings.

I think the type of writing is changing. I think writers that will make the most money are those that write in a friendly voice. Blog writers and social media writers will probably make the most money. People are looking to read Entertaining articles. The era of technical articles is gone. If your subject is technical you need to find a way for it to fit your audience. I agree that for now social media is the most popular and you need to find a way to write articles targeted at all social media audiences.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I would have to say that in the past there are more legitimate sites that pay freelancers. Nowadays 90 percent of the freelancer sites are scammers. I think that the freelance community is an untapped market which has not been fully utilized. I think that in the future someone would make a freelancer platform that would be fare and honest.

I would have to agree with you. There are bountiful of freelancing sites that are fraud and scammers. Only a few freelancing sites that are legitimate and can really count on of freelancers. I don't post too on my social media that much. I mean i know its our wall to post to, but still so many people are very negative when it comes about your personal points of view - they are really judgy I say. I'm not really that person that can express myself to everyone but I need once in a while to let this out on my mind, many things sometimes going on mind everyday and good thing I can express that here freely.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Very true. What ever we post online, there are always people who give negative comments. It happens most of the time. I'm an avid user of different social media sites but I don't just post or share anything easily. I have to make it worth to be posted first because I also consider what other people might say to what I share about what's on my mind. I used to engage in political topics before but I realized how toxic it is to engage yourself with that kind of matter so I eventually got tired, but we have to be very responsible and mature enough to use social media sites now a days because not everything is okay to post.

Nowadays, no matter how great you are you will definitely get criticised in social media. I don't know what's wrong with them because even yoi drag someone down it will backfire you in different ways that's why I can't find the answer of why did they do harassing others. No matter how accurate, precise, wonderful ydur topic is, they will have a hole in your post and suddenly you will get tired in posting. That's why I prefer forums in terms of sharing information because many people are willing to accept and to hear your ideas unlike in social medias.
I sometimes conclude that there is a possibility that the bashers are being paid in dragging down other people, maybe some people are jealous or feeling some sort of envy.

I think that suicide is another thing that keeps trending this year, many people commit suicide for some unknown reasons either due to too much stressed or depression. People who are suffering such incident could be considered as having a disorder and it really needs a cure and counseling so that they would realize that it is not yet the end of the world and we still have a lot of things to do in this world. This is a major threat to humanity since every single day many people died instantly due to suicide. We should really take this seriously and give a solution so as not to goes to fatality.

I think that another trend or issue this year is regarding to the high inflation that our country is experiencing. Due to the high inflation, all commodities increase its price while the salary of the workers remain unstable. It has a big impact on the people especially those who are poor that doesn't have a decent work to sustain their need and wants. I just wish that the rising inflation rate could be addressed properly by the government and must provide a solution on how to solve it.

More companies are realizing the value of tapping into social media sites to introduce or grow their business and this trend is opening up more opportunities for writers. If you are a writer with some web design and SEO skills, you can capitalize on this trend to make a lot of money while helping businesses create and optimize social media pages.

There are a lot of issues plaguing our work as writers including those that involve cross-border royalty taxes, plagiarism, and fraud. While I have been spared the trauma of dealing with non-paying or fraudulent clients, I know that these risks exist and there is a gaping hole in terms of internet regulations and legal structures to protect writers and other makers of creative content. I'd like to see this hole patched and make it easier to make businesses and individuals liable for their online actions and decisions.

Well, the main issue that they will be facing is I think, lack of contents. Because most contents are used in the past years. And you need to think of something that is very unique to be on the top. So I think its the issue that they will be facing.

I think different trend on writer might depend which sites or region you are located. However, different content would circulate and reactions around this sites could be the same. For me, there is really no trend that had created a buzz this past few month which is a little sad. I guess ideas are now exhausted and writers must find something new to create a buzz so that the writing can be exciting again. As for me, trends now are more focused on social medias where writer should explore so they can make use of it.

Exactly. Even our local news getting their news report every day from social media because that's what people more watched, trending and sure what people will give interest with. A lot is changing on the net and writers must brace themselves for tough times or embrace change and focus on finding clients who'll pay for their writing, themselves be it online or offline.

Gone are the days when you would simply register on a site like onespace, pass a number of their tests and start making money the next day. It's different now.

This is why I believe the next big thing will be writers avoiding websites which list freelance jobs (upwork and the others) and instead sell their services directly on their blogs or sites like SEO Clerk. It won't be such a bad thing after all because you'll be cutting out the middle man and earning more from your writing.

It has never been easier to be a writer. You can produce an eBook or even print book if you take the time to see how to make it look professional, get it out there and sell it on Amazon or even eBay. If you are enterprising, you can make the book into an app for somewhere like Google play. There are plenty of editors to help, Social media is great for promotion. At one time, forums were a good source of earning and you could post your latest creative effort, get a bit of feedback and get paid. Unfortunately, the changing algorithms for the advertising that paid the writer meant the payout dwindled. There are a few sites that pay you to write blogs or articles for a pittance, but even here the world is changing. I am currently quite concerned at one as it has stopped giving work while it changes the system, leaving writers with under $20 in their account unable to earn to release that money. To me that is immoral. The future seems to be self-publishing, and promoting yourself, not relying on sites that pay.

I agree with the self-publishing trend. However I'm also very worried about it. If you think about it, there is just too much content out there that has been self published. How do you even distinguish it? Buyers are confused, so its getting really hard to sell yourself because of all of the choices out there. Unless you are in a super special niche. I agree that writing for accounts may also not be the way to go, especially with all the new writers coming online, the market is saturated and the quality compromised. Unless you are an established writer, it is hard to make money this way.

Well I am a newbie to the field of writing content and blogging. I think that the best avenues for writers , especially for newcomers like me, will always be the Forums where you can test your skills and also earn some money in the process.

Unfortunately the number of avenues for all writers, the experienced as well as the newcomers are shrinking everyday. Posting on your Social Media Sites is completely different. I wish that things to change and people get more interested in reading , books , articles ,stories and all sorts of literature once again.

We can never deny the fact that social media has a great influence on writers and aspiring writers. Sadly, I think social media has outdone traditional online forums since sites like Facebook gives you the opportunity to connect and interact to a lot of people. Well, forum sites give you the same opportunity, right? There's no hidden fact that millions of people prefer social media. But, online forums sites and other blogging sites will always be different.

I agree that forums are on their death bed and social media is the way to go. For writers in terms of freelancing, the market to write content for other people is completely drying up because of the competition from other writers. The only way to still make money from writing in my opinion is to have a blog where you sell your own products or promote your affiliate links. I also think that most content is going to be video and not text.
