When writing articles and other content what is something unique that you usially do that helps you relax or makes you comfortable?
We all have a very unique habit we engage in on daily basis with carrying out our day's activities or routine.
When it comes to writing content, my music isn't far away from me because it helps me to focus while writing but the music must be soft and not a heavy metal music.
We have the same habit to make our writing tome enjoyable. I feel like inpired when there is music playing in my ears. They will normally distract a person that writing but uniquely with me i am not disturbed instead it helps me to be creative.
I also love to have some music on the background and definitely, it must be something which I enjoy. It really gets me in the mood and helps me to stay focused throughout the article since it minimizes any other distractions that I might get.
I love eating when I write. I like to eat peanuts. Its food for the brain.
Peanuts are really good for the brain. It can keep the heart and brain healthy and functioning properly. I also found out that the minerals in peanuts generate electrical signals in the nerve cells to communicate themselves and the rest of the cells in our body. That is why eating peanuts can help improve our writing skills.
I agree with you. I have read an article that eating all kinds of peanuts are good for the heart. It will keep you from heart attacks.
I love drinking tea or coffee. The process of brewing a cup is soothing for me, and the caffeine boost kicks me into the right energized headspace that I need when I’m writing!
I agree with you. Drinking tea or coffee is good thing to do while writing. It will keep you energized.
Drinking coffee or tea is a good idea and I want to try that too. I think it is the smell or the scent that will make you more motivated to write. A peppermint tea is great! They say the scent of the peppermint will help your performance and focus on work
Hot coffee and tea relaxes me as well. When the body is relaxed, it is not hard for the mind to work. Both really helps to calm everything and keep you in the mood to write.
It may sound odd, but I enjoyed playing music!! This is one of the ways that I have always relaxed my mind especially when we are looking at getting to making whole loads of contents for clients. I work with a friend and he also enjoys writing when the music is on as well.
It’s so interesting, I find that this seems to go about 50-50. Some people love to work with music on, but it ends up being a distraction for others. I usually can’t concentrate if there’s music on and I tend to prefer silence!
Well, just like I said, it may look odd, but this is just the way that I always want to work. Music, especially when it is R & B or Blues, is a sure way to keep me motivated when I am writing as inspirations tend to flow when my favorite jamz are playing!
That sounds great that you can write with music. I don't think I can write a good article while listening to music. That will distract me and it will just make me want to lay and listen to the song.
I agree with you also. Listening to music is a good thing to do while writing. It also relaxes my mind.
Whenever I sit for writing anything I require a lot of silence around me. if there is something happening around me which is a little disturbing I would wait for some time and resume my writing after its silent again. of course having silence around me is not possible all the time, therefore I write mostly during the nights or early mornings. besides that, I also keep on sipping tea or coffee whenever I take breaks in between my writing.
I find my productivity is at its peak in the quiet morning or late night hours too. Something about the feeling that everyone else is asleep but I’m kicking goals and getting stuff done is super encouraging for me.
I make work feel like a vacation by writing with my laptop on my lap (laptop?) while lying on the bed. This is the most relaxing position for me and I usually do it to preserve my energy. It can be tiring to work on a desk. My nephews think it looks odd but I feel that it's both relaxing and liberating. It's something that office workers can't do and I want to savor every moment of that freedom from boring desk jobs. I don't know if I can now call it a bed job but that's one of the privileges of working from home.
I actually love doing this too! I do usually work from a desk that I’ve got set up at home, but sometimes when I start feeling tired or frustrated I move to my laptop and my bed. Makes such a difference in my overall relaxation - and a change of scenery is always nice, too!
It's not really a routine but I frequently eat something when I begin to feel boredom when I am writing. It is usually nuts that I eat so I always have the shelled walnuts, peanuts and cashew although sometimes the pumpkin seeds will do. I have noticed that eating nuts relaxes me as if I was just playing with the keyboard. By the way, nuts is so nice to eat when there is a matching soda. My choice is Mountain Dew or Sprite.
When I am writing and lost got run out of words or ideas, I paced back in fort in my room and mumble to myself until the flow of my brain is back. If I have a writer's block, I ride the bus and travel for an hour or so, and when I get back I usually have a new topic to write.
Hmmm, let me think for a while...
When I write, I do look like a crazy person because it would appear to others that I'm talking to myself. What I mean is I recite the content of my article loudly during writing. A mannerism of mine, I guess.
Sometimes, I also tend to wander around my room and talk to myself aloud. Especially whenever I got confused on my grammar, I will talk to myself to hear if it sounds good and if the grammar is correct. I enjoy talking to myself as the ideas flow through my mind.
Exactly. I do those things especially during times that I am running out of things to say or doubting myself if I am making any sense. It does help, but still, you'll always look like a crazy person bouncing ideas off a wall.
The unique thing that I usually do when writing is biting the other edge of my ballpen or pencil. I feel so comfortable when doing it and I feel like ideas are coming through my mind when doing that. I think that's somehow my manerism as I do it randomly.
That is cool! I don't do that when I am writing, but biting the edge of my pen was my habit when I was studying. I think it was relaxing to do and almost every student in our room did the same thing. It is just fun to know that you still do the same habit.
I am not sure if it is unique but sometimes when I write, I sing a song. I just love to sing even if I am not a good singer. I feel happy whenever I sing and this makes me motivated to write an article. But when I sing, I don't require any music because I don't like listening to music while writing.
Writing itself is refreshing. I love to know that people love what I write. I love it when my posts reaches the tops. That is very refreshing. I do not need any other relaxer. That is what I need most.
I write every unique article because mimicking someone's article is against the law. So we better make our own unique article.
I do not want to sound all-knowing, but your comment is way off topic. The TS is asking: what are those unique things you do when you write - like mannerisms, weird habits and such.
It depends on the mood of the writer. Like me, music will do a lot for me to comfort me when I am writing. But there are times when just looking on a great blue skies comfort me and gives me motivation to write more.
I prefer a distraction-free environment when I am writing. In my chosen spot, there will be just me, my note-book and my pen. I usually do all my first drafts on paper, that's why it's always me, my pen and a notebook.
Anyway, when I need a break, I'll find myself doodling or drawing something - anything - mostly characters from comics. I don't consider myself a great artist but this sketching takes my mind off writing for a little while.
I don't know if I would call this unique, however what I try to do is I listen to music that I like. This seems to stimulate my creative juices. I also feel comfortable and I get in the zone as I call it and I start to work real well. I start to think of different ideas and my content seems to come together. I find this makes a big difference to how my life work turns out. When I work in silence I get bored. The type of music also matters. I can't have jazz or instrumental music.
Whenever I'm writing I would have an unlit cigarette in my mouth, which I would only light up when I'm finished with what I'm writing. I don't know why but it helps me relax. When I would stop writing a bit I would hold the stick of cigarette with my fingers and just play with it for a bit until words comes into my mind and I begin to type again.
I don't think I can consider this one as unique but I feel more motivated to write while I'm listening to my favorite songs especially from my favorite singer who inspires me so much from many things. It maybe a distraction at some point but it does help me in some ways and I can't explain it well. It is just that music gives me some energy to work. What do you think of listening to music while having a work like writing, is it really a distraction or it maybe depend on the doer?
I think it depends on the person. I am also one who likes to listen to music while writing. Just like you, I feel motivated and awake. I even find myself singing to parts of the song while writing.
Cool. That's nice. But it actually distracts me somehow in which it slows me down. My work took too long, but at least I'm motivated and energized to do my work. Also, listening to music while thinking confuses me. It somehow mess up my thoughts.
Yes. I prepare my mind to BLOCK and FOCUS on the writing task. I can't get to into a room and be by myself because our apartment is crowded. So I have to be able to concentrate while all the noise is around me. I've gotten used to tuning people out and ignoring any distracting sounds or noises. Once my mind is set to write, I only break to eat and go the bathroom. LOL.
I usually play some music when I write, especially when I am already exhausted. This makes my mind clearer and gives me motivation. I usually can't force myself to write at the end of the day when I am already tired and maybe because I've already exhausted my willpower but music helps me push through it.
I always make my article looks short and that's my unique way of sharing my ideas with other.
I normally sit down and take a short nap before I start writing, writing half way I sometimes drink a cup of milk or just water to keep my brain cool and feel relax. I also love a very calm environment too where my brain will not be disturbed by background sounds.
Sometimes when I ran out of cigarettes I'll get a wafer stick and just put it into my mouth when I'm writing. It helps me to write but I tend to eat a lot of it so I make it sure to have several sticks of cigarettes around whenever I'm writing to help me relax. But I only light it after I've finished writing or when I go for a break.
I find myself usually wearing earphones and listening to music while writing. It helps me stay relax but at the same time keeps my brain awake to think of what to write.
I think when I am writing, I usually refrain from hearing some noise or music since it can distract my writings because I cannot focus well whenever there are some music in my ears. As much as possible I want to be calm and free from any noise so that I can concentrate well on what I am doing. It is very important for me so that I can come up with a well organized and great articles.
The other thing that I do before writing is watching films. In that way I acquired a lot of styles and information that helps me on doing my work.
Sometimes when I am writing some article I usually have some bunch of food in my table so that whenever I feel hungry I can just easily get some food and struck it in my mouth. I cannot concentrate well on my writings whenever I am hungry and I feel thirst at some time that is why I see to it to have some water and food in my table because in that way I can be motivated and inspired to write things on my own, I want to have a heavy meal when writing so that I can have a non stop work and can finished the task at a given period of time.
Well, I find it strange that when writing, I always flip my hair when I feel like I'm going to the direction that I want. After I write one paraghraph and feel the satisfaction of completing one part, I can't help but flip my hair. It's strange, but it doubles the fun while writing. So, I'm not planning toon stop myself from doing it in the future.
Something unique that I do when I am writing a content is I write my content plain and simple so that many of the readers can easily understand on what I am trying to say, and I think by doing it simply making my article looks good.
When I start a new notebook I always leave a couple of pages at the front blank. This is so I can jot down other ideas, character names, and be able to find them easily. Ironically those pages always get full with lots of notes and scribbles and extend to the inside and outside covers. It's a good habit and a necessary one because you need to have your ideas in a place where you can access them easily.
I always wash my face before I sit down on my chair and write. It makes me feel refreshed and ready to do some work. I also make sure the door is locked to ensure less distractions.
I do not know if this is a unique thing to do when I can't think of anything to write but I really want to write I will use a random generator. A random generator can be an app or website that will help you to start your story, it will be the one who will choose what characters are like, or it can also create a random plot for you and it is your choice to follow it.
I have the TV on as my background, it always makes me smile when I am stuck on a thought and the TV gives me the answer. Like a word that I want to use, and the character on TV just says the word I am looking for. Or a topic that I can relate to my article, and the plot of the movie that's on gives me a brilliant idea.
I do eveything that makes me feel comfortable. Lie on my bed, listen to music, watch TV, talk with other peoplr through chat, watch tv, turn on ventilation, and many other things. As long as I don't get my brain too pressured or too tired, my brain seems to be functioning well. Just do relaxing things and keep any problems off of your mind. Just write while on your leisure time and you'll enjoy writing even more, for me I guess.
When I am writing some article I always put a glass of water in my table because sometimes I feel thirsty after doing a long hours of writing, it makes my brain empty and I need to refuel it with some water to make me feel relax and convenient. I know that it may sound weird but mostly I am doing these and I was already adopt to it. I cannot concentrate well in my writing whenever there is no water that I can have whenever I feel thirsty at the moment.
My ritual is to turn of my light when i ma writing and light up a candle. I have never told anyone about this, i think that people would just make fun of me...
I sing. Not the soft voice kind of singing, but the all out with movements even standing up to do a few moves kind of singing. I'm not even sure why I'm saying this because this is embarrassing.
Something unique that you do when writing: There is nothing unique I do when I'm writing. I just do the same stuff as what other writers usually do; eating fruits, chocolates and junkfoods. Having some juice while listening to soft sweet music.
