Writing books for your younger self?

Life is a journey. Our life is like a roller coaster ride, sometimes your up, sometimes your down. Our life's journey is a wonderful story with a lot of lessons. Though it's not perfect but it's amazing. Our struggles and trials are just condiments to add spice and flavor. If you were to write a book about your story, about your younger self, what would be the title of this book?

YES! I agree. Martin Luther King Jr said: "If you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl. but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward." It was one of the quotes I really liked in the past and while I was reading your comment I remembered it. Thanks!

I like this idea, and I agree with you. Sometimes it is not just your time, and we need to wait for our time.

Wow, starting from the title, it really is very interesting. I woul love to read it if someday you'll be able to publish because it is a very relatable plot.

Walk The Talk

My life is based on walking the talk. I have tried to live to what I say and live according to my word. Humility is part of me. Am humble but try to do my best always.

You are right there. Humility is always part of our lives. We need to be humble no matter what the success may we get.

I really like your attitude! I think it's very important to try and live up to what you'll say you will do, so that's a nice title for a book idea.

It is always great to live your life as per your word meaning that you are a true person and not one who misleads others all the time by saying things that are not a true representation of themselves.

I understand it as we should talk less and just do it. Something like actions speak louder than voice. Doing it rather than just talking about it is better and probably it is more productive.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jayjaydimson
Yes, same here, you should live your life on how you wanted it to become.

This is why it is important to follow up on goals rather than having to base your life on other people's ways and their success since you can never have a similar life even with your friends or companions.

The title of a book for my younger self would be 'Enjoy it While It Lasts.' How not to worry about adulting too early and instead enjoy your youth. Basically, the book would be about me telling my younger self to pump the brakes on wanting to grow up too fast. Because when you eventually do become an adult, life becomes harder and harder.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
That's a nice title. As a kid, I never got to worry about the pressures that growing up will bring. I always felt that what is better is for us to keep doing is to enjoy life and worry less about what is going to happen tomorrow. Nowadays, I try to plan ahead of time and that's to show that I have grown.

I like the title. It gives off the vibe "You Only Live Once." By just reading the title, I can imagine that I'll be reading a book of free-spirited person.

That is right. Being young is just once in a lifetime. You need to enjoy or else regret when you get older. Life of being young is far from being old. You need to be more responsible and think of others as well. Unlike young kids who will only play and study without thinking about what needs to be done on the next day.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Oh gosh, I agree with this 100%! I think back in my teenage years especially, I was so ready to be an adult...but once those childhood years are gone you realize that being an adult isn't all that fun - work and bills get kind of boring (and sometimes stressful!) very quickly.

Soaking up your youth for as long as possible is excellent advice.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes I agree with you that life is becoming harder and harder as we reach to adulthood because we now experience a lot of problems and being time conscious on our selves and mostly we are now having so much work just to give all the need and wants of our family. I still remember during my younger days that I was only sleeping and playing most of the time but now I am doing a lot of work and sometimes I cannot even have a good sleep just to have a good earnings and a good living for my family.

I agree with you. That is a good title. When responsibility begins in adulthood life does get harder.

My life is like a book of short stories for it has many beginnings and endings, some happy while others are sad. That being said, I would like to call my book, "Stories of My Life".

@Kakashi2020 - So your book would basically be an anthology piece? Nice.

I believe that your book title is really good. I heard same title of the song of One Direction before. It is indeed that out life has always a new beginning and ending too but let us not forget that no matter what it is we should keep moving forward because there is another chapter of our life that has be opened.

"... Stories of My Life... "

This name looks simple but it's very complex when you look at it very closely. When you say story of your life, it means you are definitely going to keep writing because your life is not yet over and this means that your life story is not yet over.

Obviously, it's someone else that would finally conclude your life story for you after having observed you till your last moment of breath.

The title made me think of One Direction. The Story of My Life is my favorite song actually. It would be nice if I get to read your book as well.

I think with all these stories, we can make our own library with books for our younger self. It is a good thing to accept and appreciate past mistakes. they really help us to reach where we are now.

Oooh, this is a good one! I could write a few:

"That boyfriend is a jerk and MOST DEFINITELY not worth worrying about"
"It gets better"
"High school is just the beginning"
"Save your money!"

Writing book about the story of myself would be entitled of ''My Journey'' because my life is a journey, not only my life but everyone's life. Living in this world is not as easy as we think. There are so many struggles and hindrances that we will face but in the end we have to be strong no matter what may happen.

To be honest, I haven't dreamed of writing a book and I probably couldn't because I have a shorter attention span than the normal people. My main line in freelancing is for forum posting because it is short although I can write articles up to 1,000 words. But for the sake of this discussion about my younger self maybe the appropriate title would be The Duckling That Wasn't Really Ugly.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I think that it's easy to write as a freelancer on just about anything or any subject but it's definitely going to be very difficult to write about oneself because it's going to require a lot of time to piece out all the information needed to make the writing whole.

Personally, I do prefer to write on freelancer topics and can do any number of articles without finding it difficult because most of the freelance niche are very familiar to me.

Actually, I have a habit of keeping a dairy on everything that happens in my life. It's more like my gossip note where I can pour out my feelings without being criticized or anything.

If I'm still going to develop it as a book tomorrow and give it a name, it's still going to be called my dairy.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

"My inexperienced younger self" will definitely be the name of the book. Sometimes when I look back at the decisions that I have taken in life, it is always clear that I should have achieved huge success supposing I have left playing funnily in the past.

Well there's no sense in being young if you're not gonna take risks though, right? That's the point of 'live and learn.'

If I'll write a book the title would be "The Naive Runner" I was very naive with how toxic the society when I was still young, I took all the blows, the insults, without thinking. But, despite those hurtful words and challenges that I have encountered, I never stop running to get what I really want.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That is a great title of yours. In our life, there will always be someone who will try to discourage us with what we want to achieve. What's important is that we never stop chasing it and keep on fighting for it. It is good that you didn't stop because of those negative things that they said to you. You remained dedicated and continue chasing your dreams, you're such an inspiration.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you, there will always be people who wants to bring you down.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Wow, that's a great one. I consider myself naive too when it comes to life, even up to this day. I still have a lot of things to learn as to how the world works.

Why name yourself as a runner? You should use a different term like someone who deals with life challenges head-on and not runs away. It might imply a different meaning.

If I were to write a book about my younger self, it would be "I need...". I must say that I was a person who needs a lot of things back then. I needed guidance, knowledge, love from friends, acceptance, understanding, love from the family and many more. Most of us passed through the stage where we make impulsive decisions, I had been through that and I hurt a lot of people because of my impulsive ctions, especially my family. So if I were to even talk to my younger self, I would advice her to be open to what she really "needs" not "wants".

If i were to write a book about my younger self, I would entitle it "Ice cream". Not just because my favorite dessert is ice cream but I could say that my life was signified by an ice cream. I always tell to myself to cherish every moment as I experienced a lot of losing special people ever since I was a child. So I told to myself, always make good moments and take every moment special as it will only come once in your life. Just like eating ice cream, if I will let time pass by without eating it, it will melt and fall to the ground. On that time that it fell on the floor, I will never have a chance to get the same ice cream that I receive and regret it for letting it melt without cherishing every moment that I had with it.

If I were to write a book about my younger self, the title would be " Enjoy and Cherish every moment". I really had a very happy and memorable childhood. The place where we used to live and where I grew up is unforgettable. My childhood friends were one of the best people that I met. If I will have the chance to go back to my past, I would go back to my childhood days. No word is enough to express my happiness every time I talk about my childhood.

Sky Is the Limit.

That would be the title of a book written for my younger self. When I was younger a lot of people who I shared my aspirations with literally laughed at me because they thought I was crazy. That never deterred me. And now, what I'd been dreaming about all that time is close enough to be grasped.

I'm sure this sort of book would inspire many younger people to pursue their dreams and not settle for what adults (parents especially) think what is best for them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I love that you were never deterred even when others laughed off your dreams. I always enjoy reading books about people who managed to overcome naysayers in their life - those books tend to inspire me a great deal!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

There are lots of people who want to know that there is someone them who faced insurmountable odds and overcame them. It could read like a fairy tale but truth is, for people who persevere, continue working hard and pursue their dreams a happy ending awaits them.

That is why I suppose inspirational books will always be in demand.

I think if I would have a book about my younger self then I would tilted it as "Time is precious don't waste it" because during when I was a child I was used to a certain situation wherein I need to work so that I can contribute something for my family instead of doing nothing for the day. I learned how life is and how to to utilize your time and earn from it in anyways. I learned that life is very hard if you will not do something that is why i came to realize that time is gold and we cannot brings back yesterday that is why every second of our life is important and we must make use of it up to the fullest.

If I were going to write a book for my younger self. Its going to be titled "Manuals so you wont be like me". Although it may sound negative, it is just a book that I will outline all the bad decisions or actions that I did in my life. it is mostly of the things that i did not do that I regret about. So in that book Im just going to tell my younger self to just don't give a damn and just do what you got to do in life so time is not wasted.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

"As you look beyond". I think that would be an appropriate book for my younger self. When I was younger, I kept looking on the future, doing anything and everything for the future. My aim is to make tomorrow okay because that was how I have been taught. To aim for tomorrow. But in doing so I lost sight of present. I forgot to enjoy what I currently have. My friends. My experiences. It turns out you could only enjoy so much for so little time.

Actually, I have already done this and also written quite a lot of childhood memories. The book is called "Finding Jesus" and it begins with me and God together flying accross the rooftops; a memory I have had as long as I can remember. There is a lot of mileage in writing about your past, even if only for family.

'A daughter' just popped in my head so I'm going with that. My younger self always wanted to please my parents though I have made a lot of mistakes that disappointed them. Thinking about it, 'Headache' may be a better title. lol.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I like your chosen title "Headache" it's easy to remember. We all felt that feeling and we overcome it. So, it's a good reflection on how life affects us. How we enjoy and inspired. It's a cycle we can't resist yet it add flavors to one's life.

Mine would go by the title of 'The Ninja Journey'

A story of someone who struggled with his life before then turned into an online ninja, haha! I know the title is not that catchy, I'll try to come up with a better one someday.

I would give it a title "Welcome to My Life".

I am a very quiet in person. The only way I think for someone to know me is to read my written thoughts and look into my drawings. Those are the ways I am able to express myself freely. Writing a book about myself might be a good idea to share myself to the world.

The Failed Success. I used to expect good from me because I thought I know who I am. But it turns out I still haven't known who I truly am. People around me had high hopes for me but it looks like I failed them. Not only them, but also myself. They think of me as someone who is smart, but it is all there is to it. I am not yet wise of the world. Now, I am working to be wiser in life and I wish I would've learned to be wiser when I was younger.

Failure But I Get Up, this would be the story I would for my younger self. I may have failed and disappoint my family but I still show them I never let down my guard and I still survive. Despite to all the bad words they have thrown at me but I still stand on my own feet. That despite to all the struggles I have faced I am proud to say I've made myself to get up.

I will probably make a book entitled No Limits.

I will tackle about making lots of big dreams and to never doubt myself of the things that I can do.

I should have made a lot of dreams when I was young and I should have never let fear win. I will tell my younger self that everything is possible especially if you do it with love, passion, drive and great faith from God.

Now that I'm 18 I have regrets, regrets for wasting all the opportunities that I had before but I will use it so that I will not have the same mistakes and regrets. I will make sure to show the whole world who I really am and what my potentials are.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I would title it naive and it's never that serious. When I was young I was afraid of so many things that blocked me from achieving much more. I was afraid to purse my real passion. If I had done that I would be much more successful. I was afraid of so many people, who now that I have grown up, I see for who they are horrible people who messed up their lives and now they are bullies.I would stress the fact that every day is a new day and to never ever give up. Anything is possible.

Sometimes I am thinking a title for a book during my childhood times called "The younger days in my life". It would tell a story about my previous activities before which would now become a memories of the past. It would also depicts my daily living before which is very far now because I am now experiencing a good living compare when it was before.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That book of memories is like the photo album in the olden times. When I would see a photo album in one home, it would always show how that family had lived because of the pictures. With a book that will elicit memories of the good old days I guess it is worth the effort particularly if you will focus on the environment which is very different from the environment now.

I really like to wrote some books for myself to take a look on my previous life and to have an idea on the way I am doing now. I want to write more about my favorite hobbies before and the things that makes me happy for some time. I am really looking forward for having a glimpse on the things that I have grown up before because it gives me the feeling of joy and happiness in my heart.
