Will you write anything for Christmas

Will you write anything for Christmas

Years ago I wrote a great Christmas poem. Every year I try to write another and cannot equal it. However, I am sure everyone is bored getting the same poem in their Christmas card year after year. It is time to create something new in the hope this will be the year I am satisfied with what I write.

Seasons often provide inspiration. Christmas is a great time for a poem or story. It could also inspire some to write blogs or review Christmas food or shopping.

Have you ever written anything for Christmas or will you do so this year?

What if you have done so in the past, was the best thing you ever wrote for the Christmas season?

I haven't thought of this one, nor write anything about Christmas. Maybe this year I would.

It is always worth a try. You may surprise yourself with what you achieve. Don't put the start off. After all, all you need is pen and paper or a word processor.

Yeah that's true, he should give it a try and it will surely come out well.

I agree with you. It will come out well. It is because we are inspired by the love of God as portrayed on Christmas.

I know what you mean. It's very easy to put off doing something. You can come up with various reasons as to why you can't do it. Until you pretty much forget what you've set out to do.

That's right! It's always worth a try. Sharing positive spirit and inspirations to peple around you in Christmas Day is a great idea.

Yes, I agree with you, and if someone receives a letter from you, they will feel very happy.

The feeling is always great as my mentor writer always tell me. When you write poems during the Christmas period, it is one that many will get to enjoy as well from you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ElectorAlexande
Yeah that's true and very factual, nothing sweets the heart than reading a Christmas poem from a friend which is dedicated to you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

If we enjoy what we are writing, then the likelihood is that others will do too. At Christmas one wants, somehow to convery wonder, awe and joy in a way others can relate to. It would be fun to share a "Christmas piece" on this board. The drawback is that for many people that then means they cannot claim it as original for where else they want to publish even if it is their copyright.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yea thats true, you write in a good mood filled with joy and happiness of the celebration.

Writing poems or letters for your loved ones this Christmas is a good idea. Spreading love and joy this season through your inspiring words can really lift up someones spirit.

Most of the young generation now a days are lazy to write something. Writing can be fun especially if you want to convey to others what you feel about them. I would love to write something for Christmas, It can also serve as remembrance for this year in which I can always look back to whenever I read my writing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

True. Sharing joy to others by writing exchanging ideas is somehow make our Christmas more remarkable one as we intentionally want to spread our good vibes to people especially people who are miserable.

Yes. I do. I write letters for my loved ones. If you wouldn't consider that a writing, I also write a story for them. A story that we could relate to us. A story that would make them think who the characters are at first, but will eventually realize that we are the characters in the story. A story about our family. A story of what we've been through as a family.

Maybe I will try writing this year. As I can remember I as only 8 years old when I write something for Christmas. It's really a poem but if I can remember it was just some list of gifts that I want to received during that time. I gave it to my mother and she read it out loud and then my father was just laughing of my absurd wishes. If I can remember I write something about Santa Claus and I how I badly want to cut his beard as my remembrance for Christmas.

I have never really tried making a poem specially for Christmas. I guess I have written one or two back in high school for the school paper. But I guess it would really be a good tradition. If I were to do so then it probably would be a story majorly based on my experiences or lessons that I have learnt so far about the celebrations. I would also maybe write about some things that may come up during the celebrations and any ideas that may sprout in my mind.

Well, although I am not a Christian i do love to celebrate Christmas along with my friends every year. I definitely love to visit my friends and their families on Christmas days and enjoy the Christmas goodies. Writing about the different kinds of foods and the amazing desserts that are prepared on Christmas days can make a very good topic. I guess I will definitely try to write something about the amazing dishes and the variety of food that is prepared specially to celebrate Christmas.

I used to write stories about Christmas when I was in high school. I remember writing about a different Santa Claus story where the Santa was a real person who transforms into Santa during the Christmas season. It was a big challenge for the man on how to keep his identity secret even to his family. I think it was one great story for Christmas that children would appreciate. Unfortunately I had already lost that paper where I wrote the story.

Being that I'm in the horror genre, movie and entertainment business I will not be writing anything about Christmas most likely. Unless it involves a list of my favorite Christmas horror films.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Man, I can’t think of any Christmas horror movies off the top of my head. Are there many? I’m too much of a wimp to watch horror movies anyway....I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Judas2018
@amelia88 @HappyLady There are plenty of Christmas horror films. They're cheesy, and gory and the plots are HEAVILY exaggerated but hey, that's showbiz! My favorites list is:

  • "Black Christmas" (1974) - Stars a young Margot Kidder.
  • "Jack Frost" (90's) - About a convict who is doused with chemicals that turn him into an actual killer snowman.
  • "Silent Night Deadly Night" - This franchise started in the 80's to much protest. Involves a demented child who grows up to become a killer Santa Claus. Parts 1, 2 and 3 involve Christmas. Part 4 doesn't, but part 5 which involves a sinister toy-maker returns the franchise back to Christmas themes.
  • "Black Christmas" (2007) - A remake of the 1974 version with a star-studded cast.
  • "Krampus" (2017) - Involves the mythical Christmas demon of the same name.
  • "Silent Night" (2014) - An indie remake of "Silent Night Deadly Night."

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

cmoneyspinner
Yes, they are CHEESY! And what I can't believe is that they actually did a remake of "Black Christmas". Say what? Gimme a break. The first one wasn't that good. However, since the remake had a star-studded cast I suppose it was meant to be better. All that being said, there's no way I'm going to write about Christmas horror. I don't mind if Halloween wants to borrow from Christmas, But Christmas doesn't need to borrow anything from Halloween.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

HappyLady
Now I am laughing. I cannot think of any horror movies I saw about Christmas. What are they? I suppose some people would enjoy this genre. I have never heard of any and the nearest I can get is "The Grinch who stole Christmas."

I have never tried writing anything about Christmas. But I like reading different articles or stories about Christmas. Reading this kind of content can make me feel more excited about this season. Ill try to share this one, and i think this is crap but anyway lets give it a try.

When this months start, it nostalgic.
I always feel warm even if the cool breeze blows in me,
I always feel happy saw a playing lights on trees, houses and streets,
I always feel the joy when hearing the jose marichan songs,
I always thankful to feel this even if it only repeatedly yearly,
But it will become more happier,
If I still hold your hands even its moisting,
If I still hug you when I feel chilling,
If I still sneak a kiss on you,
If I still laughing together,
But youre gone in this world,
I missing you and its really hard
But life goes on.

If I will write about Christmas, I will probably write about our Christmas dinner. Here in our country, we have this so called "Noche Buena", it is one of our known traditions. It is a special family dinner where we will all prepare different delicious foods and share it with each other. It is also our time to open our gifts for each other. We all look forward to this event every year, and I can say it is a very happy time for our family as it is a chance for us to be all together again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That would be a lovely article. Noche Buena is something that I am excited about during the Christmas season. I love different food that we prepare for this season. It is also a tradition for us to share the food with our neighborhood and our neighbors do the same. So, it is like an exchange of food.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ajahcuizon
I totally agree. I am really happy when our neighbors will knock on our door and share with us their cooked food. Then in return, we will return the plate that they used to bring us food with our cooked food also. It is like and exchange gift in the matter of food.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

superlicca
That is right! This is something that I like about Christmas day. I really like the idea of exchanging food. You get the food that you don't serve in your table. And sometimes, you can get the same food but with a different taste. I remember before that we had buko (coconut) salad and most of our neighbors also gave us salad but it had different color and taste. It was really amazing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Sharing foods is such a good trait of our fellow country men. That's why when an occasion is coming, we often cook more than what we need so that we could share some food with our neighbors. Truly Christmas is a wonderful season to share and spread love with other people.

The use of social media sites recently have made it harder for me to write love letters because I also keep close contact and communication with all my family and loved ones.

Although, I do send them mails from time to time. It's the only way I write to them in a letter form.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think it’s always so special to receive a real letter in the mail. Since so many people prefer to use email for communication these days, it’s a real treat to actually get a letter delivered that someone took the time to write - especially for Christmas!

I'm also good with writing poems as well because it's kind of my area of expertise. I write almost all the time and not specifically during Christmas holidays but there is no doubt about getting a lot to write on during Christmas.

Excluding the poems, I also love to document my Christmas holidays in both writing and video. So, I'm already prepared for this year's work.

I haven't written anything for Christmas and it's a shame that the thought of it only came after reading your question (which I am thankful of). Now, I am planning to write to write a short story (that might become a novel if it gets longer) on my Christmas vacation. I know that I'd be bombarded with school tasks because of my OJT as a Student Teacher in Practice but I will do my best to write one on my free time.

I think for me it is very rare that I can wrote some poems about Christmas since most of the time I am writing some short articles about it especially on why we are celebrating Christmas and how it greatly affects our life. It is one of the most common things that I usually do during Christmas but I am open also of any possibilities of writing some poems this coming Christmas since I have never tried it before and I think it is a good idea to give inspiration as well to other people out there.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

The best part about writing poems is knowing you can make them as simple as you want. We don't have to compete with many great works. The joy of having written them is enough. Especially, during the holidays.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes you are right on that since I am the person that really loves to write some poems because I can express some things that I want other people should know about through writing some simple poems. I think that this Christmas I will write a poem that will inspire others because poems can really gives some energy and motivation to view life in different ways. Sometimes reading to certain poem change our perception in life and to certain things around us which is really great.

That's awesome. I'm sure your enthusiasm can help people realize the value of life. Poems show us the beauty of living in simplicity. These basic things make us appreciate what we have. Because no amount of luxury can equal the happiness that comes from within.

I always find time to write something whenever it is a special day. Sometimes I am able to post it online or in social media sites. It's really fun to know what other people thought about the message you want them to receive from the poem or thoughts you just posted. Most of the time, my Christmas post is about love and many of my online friends relate on it. I love being straightforward on my works but coat it with comedy. Reality can really hurt you but when approached on a lighter way, it is more easier to digest. I hope they get inspired with my work though during those special days.

I haven't thought of writing poems to someone else. I am not a demonstrative type of person. I rarely say my feelings to others. I do appreciate and give affection thru baking or cooking. Interesting I must say.

Nonetheless considering how most people are quite eager to spend money on gifts and other things around Christmas time you'd probably draw more traffic to your site if you told them about how and where they'll get the best deals, what gifts they should buy, etc, etc.

For christmas I make my own card. Inevitably I design my own Christmas card messages. I try to tailor every message to the person. I also do this as a side gig for some of my friends and family, because I'm said to have a way with words. I make the messages about half a page long and try to address what has been happening in the person's life through the year. I also offer messages of gratitude for them and hope for the coming year and the future.

I think that this Christmas is that we will have a lot of foods to share and have a lot of fun moments to make since Christmas is a very enjoyable day to most of us. We should celebrate Christmas with joy and full of kindness in our hearts to make it more interesting and exciting.

Yes, I would love to write for Christmas and the blessings that God gave me this year. I will all count the blessings I have received and those happy and sad moments I experience from my family, friends and special one. I will write all my feelings happened this 2018 before the year ends.

Well to be honest, I'm a Muslim living among Christians, but I do feel their Christmas spirit. I'm happy to see how they write poems and sing songs.

Personally I didn't write anything, but I had a friend asking me once if his song lyrics were good.
She wanted to present it at her school. Will you write anything for Christmas

It is understandable that you don't celebrate Christmas because you are not a Christian but it looks like you are aware of the festivities in our tradition. This is not to brag but we have experienced a very happy childhood because of the Christmas season that is full of activities related to our religion. There is the nightly caroling where children would go from house to house to sing carols and in return they are given treats and coins. But the centerpiece of the long celebration are the dawn masses. We go to church to attend the ritual called Holy Mass at 4 am and that goes for 9 days.

I think I would like to write this Christmas about some important things that had happened in my life. I would like to write a throwback on the things that I have done in this year which makes me what I am now.

I'm positive I will be doing some writing, but my subject won't be anything relating to christmas. I've never felt the need to write something inspired by any holiday. Now that I've read this post, I'll probably consider the option for next year's holiday season.

@Franzel200 Yes that is a very nice idea and I may also make some writings about my plan for the coming year and I wish to do more from it. I have many goals to be achieved for next year and would be a great opportunity again to start earning from my freelancing sites. I wish to have more blessings and have a good health so that I can still work for my family.

This is a wonderful idea. I have never tried writing anything for Christmas as it never really occurred to me. But this is something that is definitely worth trying and I think it could pass as a creative tradition during the Holiday season. I think this would make a nice activity for kids as well. We can have them write something down and have them read it for everyone on Christmas. Thank you for this post, you just inspired me to try something new!

I write Christian articles and fiction.Funny enough,I enjoy writing about easter than Christmas. However,i always write a short play for my Sunday school children.I then then audition, train and the play is presented before the whole congregation on Christmas day. This year,I've written a play about the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Christmas season is the best time to write an article or a poem for children who are not leaving the way they have to be. Street children are always special in this season, they don't have beautiful clothes like others when this season comes and some don't have a family to celebrate a Christmas together.

Yes, definitely I will. It's good to write about the real reason for the season why we celebrate Christmas. And the reason is remembering the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior. I would want to write about it because I think many people nowadays don't know the real reason of Christmas. They thought that Christmas is just some usual holiday, gift-giving, lots of food etc. But it's not really about those things but it's about God's gift to man and that's sending His Son, Jesus Christ into the world to save us from our sins.
