Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which book was better

I have been reading the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series since I was 8 years old and until now they are still producing such a great, funny, adventurous book that many children love to read even teens. I wanted to know, if you are a reader of this great series, which book was your favorite? When have you started reading the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series? Have you enjoyed the stories up until now?

I haven't had a chance to read The Diary of a Wimpy Kid nor one of its series but I had a chance to watch its movies. It was funny and entertaining. The adventure was great to watch but what I really love was the moral stories of the movie.

I haven't read the series nor saw the movie version. I do know that it's popular with the younger kids.

I haven't read the book yet but i had a chance watching the movie. It has a lot of good moral that you can get from the movie. Being an outcast who wants to fit in and then finding real friends who is with you through thick and thin.

I agree with you, well the movie was ok, the book is much better than it.

I've seen the movie and im rating it 5/10. I haven't read the book though, I think the book could be much better.
The movie is about a teen named Greg, who's also the school wimp who devices schemes to upgrade his status but often fails miserably. Greg jots all his plans and misadventures in his diary.

Really? Thank you for your review. I only was able to watch the movie series. It must be a terrible feeling to watch a movie that doesn't go with the book.

The movie is bit off, the characters are different from what I have imagine from the book.

Wow, having watched the movie and rating it 5/10 shows the movie wasn't that good in your opinion.

But since you haven't had the opportunity to read the book, I would suggest that you try and do so as well in order to have a clear understanding on which one is better between the movie and the book.

I've only read one, and it was the first book so I don't really know if the other books are more funny than the first one.

I guess that as the poster is saying this shows that the book must have been an interesting read for those that really focused on it. It is all about getting to read this book just for fun as well.

It's such a shame that I was only able to see the movie series. I didn't even think of reading the book. Was it different? Can someone please answer my question? Thank you so much.

If the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is available in movies, I think that I would be more comfortable watching it than getting myself to reading the book.

I'm more addicted to watching movies than reading books, so it would be more enjoyable for me to watch Diary of a Wimpy Kid series as a movie.

But the book is funnier than the movie.

Seriously, I must confess that it's actually my first time of hearing about this book Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.

It's not a book that is very common around here, otherwise I would have heard about it. But since you are of the opinion it's a great book, I'm definitely going to check it out.

It is a VERY funny, book about a middle schooler, actually it's a book for children but it is really hooking that even adults buy it.

I haven't read the book "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". I read more on Alice on Wonderland and fairy tale stories. They are a lot more interesting in my younger days. I watched the movie of Diary of a Wimpy Kid but not much of my interest.

I have not read the book nor watched the movie. I have heard of this around ten years ago and upon reading on the plot of the stories. I somehow relate to the main character of the story. However, this kind of genre is best suited for kids and teenagers and for the young at heart.

I didn't have the time to read those kind of book anyway. I believe that it was a situation where I was that busy to keep pushing for the need to read it back then which was not that easy for me. I think that it must have made an interesting read for those that did it back then.

It is a good book. There are many good books nowadays and that book was published long time ago but still many people interested to read it because of the content and story itself.

Ironically I've never read the books but I did see one of the movies at the cinema - my sister is a fan of the books and the movies so I went along with her. The movie was fun - I think it was the second one in the series that we saw.

I have to be honest that I have read a book of that Wimpy Kid but I don't remember anymore maybe due to my present occupation that is always hectic with the activities. The only reading material that I have at bedtime is the Archie Comics which would lull me to sleep with the funny stories. I love to read comics instead of books because the comics are for leisure especially with the stories in Archie comics that are always entertaining.

I have read a book of a diary of a wimpy kid before but I could not remember what part of the series it is. What I could remember is that they are dealing with this so called "cheese touch". It's good for children as the book can teach them to embrace their flaws and just be themselves.

I know that book and I was about to read that when my dog tear it into pieces. I was mad at first but I realized that my madness has no point at all. I will buy one for sure.

This book sounds familiar but I have not read this book before. If I will have a chance, I will try to find this book and take time to read. The only book that I remember to read when I was a kid is the gingerbread man.

I have read only about two books in the series. I normally give a book a chance before I reject it. I didn't like the first one I read which was Cabin Fever. I then went on to read Hard Luck. These books are not my cap of tea at all. I think they are more suited to boys in my opinion. I really don't like adventure books, I prefer romance novels.

I have heard from my friends that it's a great book series but I have not read yet. I love reading but I never purchased a physical book because I don't think it's worth the money, I just read through pdfs.

It's really a book for kids and teens I've seen it in bookstores but I'm not really interested in it. I saw the movie and I wasn't impressed. Considering the success of the book, I think that the book is much better than the movie.

I have read it once and it was kind of entertaining for me but I had not finish it as I don't have time for that. I was so busy when my brother bought that book and had a chance to borrow it but he then told me to give it back as someone will borrow it from him and that time I don't have much time to read as I was full of projects in school like it was stressful but I find it entertaining tho.

I began reading Diary of A Wimpy Kid book before, about four years ago. Diary of A Wimpy Kid book are exquisite to make your thoughts and mood fresh. It is humorous and could would possibly remind you your school days too. Cabin fever, The wheel, The long haul and canine days also are desirable books of this series.

I haven't read any books but I watched its movie adaptation before. It was really amusing. But I don't think it is safe to let children watched it because of the content of the movies is bullying, being lazy, and it has some unacceptable language which the children can easily pick up. It would be humorous on adults but not on children.

Personally, my favorite book of the series was definitely The Last Straw. It’s the third book, when Greg is in the second half of his 7th grade year. I remember being so engrossed in the storyline that I’d stay up late to continue reading it past my bedtime. One time my Mom caught me at midnight or so reading it under my covers and confiscated the book, but I just picked up another copy from the library. I needed to know whether Greg would really be sent to Spag Union. After the part where Greg joined the Boy Scouts, I remember cringing at the fact that his Dad still had to chaperone for Greg for the camping trip, thinking, “This is it. Poor Greg’s going to military school. It’s over for him.” I was so emotionally invested in The Last Straw. I still firmly believe that it is the best of the series because it put me on an emotional roller coaster and left me feeling very satisfied with the conclusion after I finally finished it. I returned the book to the library, and that’s when my Mom gave me back my personal copy and I read it again. It’s the best book of the series. Change my mind.

Hey there!
I remember reading it a while ago, many years it was introduced to me by a class mate. He was obsessed with it.
Frankly, I don't really remember which one was it. Maybe I should refresh my memory.

Well, honestly I haven't read or heard about this series of books and also haven't seen the movies based on the series. I used to read a lot in my childhood, but most of the books I read at that time were the books in my native language which is not English. After reading all the responses to your post I am quiet convinced that this has to be a very interesting series of work and I will definitely read them whenever I can.
