It's a tough one dealing with an inactive seller. It makes the whole market process boring and dull as well as unsatisfactory.

Just give the seller more time to see if he or she would return online or better still you can check out if there is anything like a support to contact.

@Martinsx1 thank you, but I'm just wondering because the seller's status showing last logged in was 128 days ago. If that's the case, why did the payment went through as the seller account has been inactive for that amount of days???

Seriously, 128 days is pretty a very long time for the account to be inactive or offline. I can't really say what went wrong and why the payment went through, but just like I mentioned earlier, kindly make efforts to reach out to support and have them sort it out.

I think it's so unprofessional for the buyer not to check that before purchasing the product at the first instance, well support is the only option.

Trying to figure that out too, its quite a long time since the seller logged in. Really bad for the buyer.

Well, I think it should be up to the online store to handle that except it wasnt from a reliable online store.

This is so disappointing. We don't know what the seller's reason is of being inactive. But, I hope that you'll get what you deserve and the seller would be active very soon.

This is exactly one of the reasons why one of the administrators mentioned a while ago that accounts that are offline for too long should be reported so that they have it deactivated and save members such kind of stress and troubles this person is facing at the moment.

I hope this gets sorted out sooner than later.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yea thats true, the administration should do something about it because sellers can't just go offline for such a long time and buyers will have to go through that stress.

I don't see any reason why the seller would not be around for such a long time, it's very annoying and sad to hear you say that.

The seller is 128 days offline? I hate to break it with you but I think you would not get refunded anymore.
My only advice to you is to learn from this bad experience of yours. Next time, know the sellers recent activity and seek if it's active. You can also look for customers's reviews so it won't happen again. Before buying especially through online make sure it's legit.

This is a slap of reality. You have a very good point. I hope that every freelancer learn about experiences like this. But, I also hope that this seller who's inactive will be hit by his conscience.

I've learned a good lesson, thanks.

Sometimes it's hard to get back your money as some sellers don't entertain again but not all. I think It cannot be refunded anymore as I think the only intention was to scam you. This could really disappointing .

Yes, this is really disappointing. When will scammers have their conscience? Why are they always blinded by money? This is so sad

The seller might not be a scammer. It could be they just listed the service for sell a long time ago and for one reason or another they never came back to the site and if they haven't logged in since then they can't withdraw the buyer's money.

@schiStheone contact customer support. They could help you get your money back.

Thank you all for your advice and hope this won't happen again. I've learned my lesson, once again thank you.

I think you are in a tight situation there. If I were you, try to get as much information as you can to get a hold of him. I mean that is the only solution you got and if you really need your money it is best that you report that person. Seeing him/her 128 days ago is quite long and tough.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

theresajane
That might be the best solution. But, it's a hard one. It's not easy to dig up the information of the people whom you are dealing with online.

That is quite an inconvenience in your side. Do you have an e-mail or a phone number that you can contact? How about a social media account? It's disappointing when sellers are inactive or are slow to reply. You should try and give the seller a few more days and then try to contact them again via other means.

Hey there, sorry to hear that...
I believe it's hardly possible, unless you're going to sue him. Obviously, that person is not honest at all, and the reason he doesn't appear online is due to obvious reasons.

Probably you can not get the refund if that's the case. It is obviously the seller is not an honest one and just deceiving you. That's why always check the profile first and find out the seller is legit and that his/her site have a lot of followers and there are good reviews form the the product he/she is selling.

Charge to experience. Sometimes we dont understand some situations like that. I really don't know how to help you but I believe this experience have teach you a very valuable lesson.

I have no idea of what caused that status of not logged in for a long time but the seller seemed to be active as to receive the payment from you. My guess is another trick in the books. Truly there are many smart guys who can trick you with their fine coding just like the fake number of followers and likes in social media. Maybe that is a lesson for all of us to be careful in dealing with sellers. Be sure to get total satisfaction with the service before you pay.

Yes, you are right about likes and followers on social media. Even on here some buyers have good fake feedback. LESSON LEARNED!

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience! It's a good lesson to all of us though. What method of payment did you use to pay for the service?

Before ordering anything on any freelancing site, you must check the sellers activity log. If the seller is active every few hours, every day or every other day, Then you can buy with confidence. But never buy from fair-weather sellers, who drop by twice a month or less.

It seems that this transaction is a bad one but I still do hope you get your money back. This is why I usually chat with the seller before I order anything online. I ask questions about sizes or dimensions even though it is already stated just to know if the seller is active and will respond to my queries.

Im very particular when it comes to these kind of scenarios. I make sure to read first of their reviews get to know if they are really legit, feedbacks of their buyers if we can really trust them as a seller. In case, that seller has a good reviews, probably you should get their best landline or mobile number in this kind of situation for your rights as a buyer before buying to them.

That is terrible experience, I have never experience something like this. Because I only buy a service or product with a good reputation seller. There are many scammer out there trying to offer a fake product or services and when you already bought the product/services they suddenly gone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Bravosi
Yeah, it's very important that prior to buying from someone you check the reviews other people left. It's a number one priority. Myself I fell victim of that too, I bought a laptop for $600 from a company that had bad reviews. The laptop had entirely different attributes than the one's I have ordered. And they refused to refund me.

A good practice of some buyers I know is they get personal contact info first of the seller so that when things don't work out, you can reach him by other means. Nonetheless, I'm sure you'll get your money back, if not by the seller, maybe by circumstance. All the best!

Unfortunately, the thing you cannot tell is what happened to the seller. It could be a death or injury or someone who was put in prison. There are many reasons why somebody does not log in for all that time and not tell you. Or, as others suggest, there could be no intention to pay or even bankruptcy. At best, I suppose someone's hardware could fail, but in that case they can go and use the Internet in a cafe. I would write this one off and chalk it up to experience having sent a final demand for your money.

Well, I am sure it must be a very painful experience to have invested your money for getting your work done on time and still being forced to wait for months. I am sure there must be some redressal mechanism available in this regard and you must immediately contact the customer care. There can be many possibilities for the seller remaining inactive for a very long time but I think that you must be able to claim a refund from the seller for not completing the work on time. Its always better to invest your money with a seller who is active and has a good reputation even if you have to spend a little more money to get his services.

I don't think that this is a problem. As suggested contact support and they can contact the seller and the money can be charged back even if the seller does not respond. I agree that something may have happened to the seller, you just never know. I think before reaching conclusions it would be best to contact support and see how they can help. They can try contacting the seller directly.

That's really disappointing, I feel sorry for what happened, better check their status first before paying for something, that should be a listen you should bring with you that you should be very careful and double check it first before paying for something. Because in your situation right now I don't really know if you can get your money back.
