How to Write Powerful Killer Headlines for Article Marketing Purposes
???Are you looking to be a better, more successful article writer and want your articles to get more reads, engagement and shares? Well the headline of an article is the first thing that people read when reading your article (or not). Since the headline is the opening part of your article and it needs to be worded in such a way as to tell the reader what the article is going to be able. For example: "This is An Article About Dog Training" and "This is An Article About Writing Articles". If you was looking for article writing tips, which one would you rather carry on reading?
Point in case proven! Well to help you with writing powerful headlines for your articles, so that your articles get more reads, engagement & shares, (although the rest of your article body itself will help with that), this is a HEADLINE for writing killer headlines for your articles! By the end of this, you should be making much better article headers and finding more success from it!
H is for Helpful
Articles by very nature are supposed to be helpful and informative. They need to tell the reader what the article is going to be about and make it clear that reading the article will be rewarding to them in gathering the information they were looking for to find your article in the first place. So make your headlines helpful!
E is for Emotion
You can evoke emotion in your articles by your readers by appealing to the two main driving factors of them reading your article, that is (1), attaining new information and (2), avoiding having their time wasted with information they already know. In other words, make it pleasurable and pain free. Those are the two main emotions people seek and try to avoid!
A is for Asking
Asking a question in the headline of your articles is very powerful and effective! By asking a question that your targeted audience is asking to find your article in the first place confirms and reaffirms that the article relates to, is based on and was written exactly for them. Are you looking for article writing tips would be a good header to go with for people that are!
D is for Do and Don't Do
Articles should be educational and a good article marketing campaign is full of educational lessons. People want to be told what to do and what not to do when you are telling them tips on stuff. They want to hear it from the voice of experience what they should do and what they shouldn't do. So sprinkle articles with "do" and "don't do" lessons to add more value to your article!
L is for Lists
List are literally loved! And lists sure are powerful! And people are literally wired up to love reading lists. Whether it's their own list or not! But lists in articles can be very affective and add a lot of value into your article. Such as a top 10 list in bullet points or a list of allm the things you need to do, to do something. Be more listful, people will value it!
I is for Inspiration
You article is also like your sales pitch. Some of them are just blatant sales pitches. But some of them gently coerce the reader into an emotional corner so they are forced to take up your solution to the problem you presented them with that they have. And your articles should gently inspired people by speaking directly to their desires. Inspire them and they'll be hooked!
N is for Nightmare
Talking of problems, if you can speak to your readers about a problem or a nightmare they're having in such a way that keeps them up at night through your killer headline, they will be up thinking about actually putting the solution to that problem into practice the next day. The blogger "Jon Morrow" calls this the "2 AM Test". Try it and you'll see how well it can work!
E is for Empathy
Humans are wired to go with those things that seem to care about them. So if you can convince the reader that you are writing with them in mind first and foremost, you'll earn their trust just in the headline alone. But more than this, earning a readers trust will go on to see your article shared more and be much more affective in what it was written for in the first place.
S is for Success!
If you want to reach "Headline Nirvana" then your headline needs to make a promise that by the end of the article, they will find some success in something. Such as how I've done in the header and sub header of this very article in my promise to you that by the end of this article, you will be able to make better, more affective article headlines and see more success in article marketing!
And that my friends is a quick breakdown of an Article Header!
Do you make use of these things in your article headers?
Or will you start now that you know this?
Thanks for reading and any questions just ask!
Mike.
