Since I began writing as a freelancer, I based my work on relationships and how couples can get to bond together in a way never seen in life. The positives is that by researching more about ways relationships can work, I have come to realize that many of the readers have had some doubts and even questioned how those stuffs can work.

Relationship is a good area to tackle for writing as there are different experiences per relationship, and so you can write varying articles relating to a certain demographic and you can get some good discussions out of people.

It is not only about lots of past experiences to write on as people are also looking for relationship tips to fall back on which is really nice as you get to see more visitors to your website. I have read couple of relationship books which I should not really let go when the matter of making use of them is being talked about.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, I think relationships will always be a big part of being human, which is why people are always drawn into these discussions whether for personal use when looking for relationship tips or just to share their experiences with others.

I must admit that relationship is really a good topic for one to base his or her article, this is because our very life and existence is wired in one form of relationship or another. This way it's definitely going to be a hot topic that is open to mostly everyone to contribute his or her point towards the subject matter. I have done a few articles on relationship and I'm still planning to do my masterpiece in the subject matter.

I have always been interested in lifestyle, health, fashion and I have mostly written about these. However, I also had to write about topics I don't have much knowledge about. In such cases, I usually take longer to submit the final work as I have to conduct research. Previously, I was working with a researcher and I was helping him write his articles which were related to the economy and finance.

Literally all sorts... some were extremely challenging and others were pretty easy and fast to write. It obviously depends on the topic itself since we all have areas that we have more knowledge about. I think that writing any article (that you have accepted to) has a positive impact because you learn at least one or two things from it. And with that, you grow as a writer, a freelancer and as a person.

Tronia,
Like you, I think I am pretty much up to writing about whatever, but I do hesitate when it comes to some topics due to a lack of my own experience and expertise. I like your idea about how writing is, in itself, its own best teacher, and I think that I can attest to the fact that every writing project I take on does teach me a great deal. I do acknowledge, though, that even though I love to write, that does not make me a good writer about every subject. I can apply my voice, style, and diction to any topic, but that does not instantly result in a well-informed polished piece of content regarding the niche I am trying to approach.

I was once a co-blogger with pets as the niche. But I have to admit that I was very amateurish when I wrote those blogs. It just so happened that I am a pet lover and have dogs as my passion so it was easy for me to churn out articles after articles about my dogs. And later on, I branched out to topics outside our home like the stray dogs in our village and the so called puppy mills in one resort city. And to fortify my articles, I include photos that are directly related to my article. It is like reading a news report because the photos were genuinely part of the story.

I've written some articles about health. They were somewhat difficult to write due to the factual nature of wellness topics. I had to do extensive research. I was also very inexperienced as a writer back then. But it was a learning experience. I don't look forward to writing more of them, though. I'm just glad to gain experience from different areas of writing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think that this is a great topic and niche to write content about. Personally, I would not know where to start in this arena--I mean, I could give general advice regarding what I have learned over the years from observing my own body and habits, and the successful habits of others who I know, but I could never delve into any technical advice or discussion in this field without tons of research. I would also feel remiss in writing about health topics without some sort of degree or certification in this area. My sister is a nurse, and she has told me horror stories about how bad things can go wrong when people take bad advice in terms of their health.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, writing about health is difficult not only because of the actual research you have to put in, but also the challenge of sharing these facts to other people who may or may not believe you and whose health may depend on whatever you have written.

I have experience in a wide variety of topics, but the most memorable ones for me are writing for a website for dogs (since I personally own 2 lhasa apsos which are my bestfriends), and writing research articles for environmental papers, since I am a biologist at heart.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JoeMilford
I have met a lot of people in these forums, actually, who love writing blogs and contents about pets, especially dogs, actually. I have a biologist friend who is a biologist--he works for Washington state and lives in Port Angeles. He has been writing a blog about the tidal pools there and all of the flora and fauna which flourishes in that environment. I find the topic of biology and the study of life incredibly interesting and compelling just in general. Blogs about this kind of content are always fun and informative to read.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Cool. It's always great to learn about people also interested in the topic of biology. Also, I really love writing about the environment because it is just so important especially today that people are informed of the consequences of every action they do towards the environment.

I've never actually written articles in my freelance work. I've signed up for sites like hirewriters, textbroker and the likes, but I always feel like I'm not knowledgeable or that my writing isn't up to snuff for me to write for them. Most of my freelance writing has been in captioning videos or transcribing audio through sites like Rev and TranscribeMe. There's something a little more reassuring to me when I can just write what I hear.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JoeMilford
I have also had issues with those sites as well. It seems like the topics which I would be adept at writing about are few and far between. I am not interested in writing about tech stuff, sports, or home improvements, for example. I would much rather write about the arts, movies, and literature, which I feel I am qualified to do, but, so far, I find the opportunity to do so to be very rare in my experience. I could just be submitting to or looking at the wrong places though, I suppose.

I've written a lot of articles in the last decade. I've tackled all of the general subjects.

But I do have my rules, I don't write about dark stuff or anything related to death and religion.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Judas2018
That's where we're different. I enjoy writing about dark stuff, and yes death is a part of that. Not on a realistic level though, but I enjoy writing stories about dark things and of course, within the boundaries of those tales - characters are killed off.

Judas2018,
I know that you have mentioned before that you like doing reviews or blogs about horror movies. I was also wondering if you read or write things like "Creepy Pastas"--I enjoy listening to these stories online, especially when they are done well. It reminds me of sitting around a campfire and listening to ghost stories as a kid. Plus, I just really like the rush of getting scared or of getting provoked by the supernatural and having my adrenaline spike for a moment. As an aside, it must be pretty awesome to work with film-makers and other artists and to have that kind of collaboration and community surrounding your writing.

As a freelancer I have wrote articles relating to health. I think one part of it is that I am a nurse that is why I have a background on it and I can easily write articles regarding health and answer some of the most common questions that may arise.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Wow, your field of profession speaks for itself because it's certainly gives you more base and background to do good writing on health care topics. I'm a teacher by profession, so it's very easy for me to write on education and anything that has to school or learning within the four walls of learning environment.

And I think i'ts gonna be a reliable article, specially coming from nurse, no doubt about that. Your background will give a lot of details about your article. and if someone will ask about that matter, you are able to answer it direct from the point without need of any references.

For this year, I've written articles about National Politics, Food and Travel, Gadgets, CryptoCurrency and the last one I wrote was about Anime Culture in Asia which is a subject that I really like.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JoeMilford
There must be TONS to write about in terms of anime culture! I was once really into it, when I was younger, but I honestly feel like I can't even keep up with it! Come to think of it, if I could ever find the time in my insane schedule, I would probably utilize blogs, such as yours, to get a foothold back into the anime world. I would consult reviews, and since I am on a terribly limited budget, I would use the blogs and forums to shop around for anime graphic novels and other related products which I would prefer. I have always been interested in this subject, and I spent two months in Japan years ago and really immersed myself in it back then.

From your name kakashi, no doubt about that, that you really like anime. Is that from naruto anime right? I also like to write an article about the cryptocurrency how difficult invest there, and the people who invested in cryptocurrency should know when the proper time to buy and sell.

While it isn't always possible, I typically try to stick to topics that I'm familiar with. I'm fairly well educated in several topics including health and nutrition, theology, and computer technology, so those are themes that I would typically try to stick to. Usually they would require minimal research which is obviously not only good for my own time management but for the client as well. They are topics that I research on my own for leisure so I'd already have a lot of information prepared. Anything else usually takes me far more time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JoeMilford
DenisP,
I think that it is always very smart to stick with topics that we know, initially, but I think that it is also okay to branch out into unknown territory if you can do so with proper time management and eventual success which is consistent. My areas of expertise include movies, music, art, literature, and philosophy (I also must shamefully admit that I could write ALL DAY about conspiracy theories). The goal is to find people interested in your niche and get them to give you traffic so you can deliver a good product and strong content. Still, though, like you, I like doing research in my leisure time, what little leisure time that I have, about new subjects which could provide new topics for content.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DenisP
Well yeah, I agree there. It is almost necessary to branch out, not only because work in unfamiliar territory is nearly unavoidable, but because it is just healthy to stretch creative muscles that you haven't had to use. Being able to adapt to different circumstances is essential as a freelancer, and if you've never been pushed outside your boundaries, you'll find it really hard to do so once you are forced to.

And don't feel ashamed about writing about conspiracy theories, I think that's awesome! While I might not buy into every conspiracy theory the way some people do, I almost always find them to be fascinating. It's almost inspiring to find how people can take almost completely unrelated circumstances and piece them together to make a (relatively) logical, yet totally absurd, argument.

Hi there! What is good in doing freelancing job is you are flexible on your schedule of your work. As a freelancer, I always proofread, edit, or make speeches. I find it hard at the start because the problem here is you do not know who will be the audience, what topic will be in particular, how old are the audience and stuff like that. But as I progress, I became interested in making speeches. It is a huomorous that some speeches are written during call of nature, and I found those speech great. Currently, I want to do other topics. Since I am currently in a health professional field, why don't I write about Health & Lifestyle. Isn't it great?

I've written mostly informative articles on hotels, travelling, legal services, SEO services, natural healing, appliances, vehicles, and the like. I'm not really choosy when it comes to the subject because I love to explore and learn new things. I've also done article rewriting jobs which I consider fun and easy. I know how time consuming it can be to write about subjects I'm not familiar with so when I have to, I always choose trending topics that I know will be popular for the next year or so. That way, my research should be good for more articles in the future.

coolavendar,
I am assuming that, in order to write about travelling and hotels, that you can AFFORD to travel and to do this, and this makes me very jealous! If I had the chance, and the finances, to chase that writing dream, I would jump all over it in a heartbeat. That, to me, would be the BEST kind of research--exploring other cultures, cuisines, and locales. Tell me about article-re-writing jobs--how does that work, and can you suggest some places I could explore in order to check out some opportunities with that genre of freelance writing?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I used to be active in a content mill where I was able to do a great variety of writing jobs. One of the tasks I enjoyed was rewriting content. Clients would ask us to rewrite an existing post written by a another writer to make it look like a completely different article. I love rewriting jobs because I don't have to do further research. I guess you can also find those jobs if you advertise your rewriting skills. Seoclerks is one of the best places to find clients for your writing and rewriting skills.

About sports and music for me. I really love to write some articles about musics, the artist, their incoming album, and about the struggles of their band. I'm an avid fan of Rock music, and I really love the story behind them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JoeMilford
i think that I would really enjoy writing about music, actually, because it is such a passion of mine, I think that I have always held back from writing about this topic because i feel as if the market for this kind of content is so wildly saturated, and I am not quite sure how I could stand out in this niche. I really love alternative and indie rock, and I have been following these genres for decades, but I think that my confidence holds me back a bit from really diving in and covering this topic like I would like to, unfortunately.

I am new to this, I wrote a blog before it is about educating young people about preparing their future. I am here in the Philippines we are consider to be a third world country. I felt good with what I wrote. but it didn't hit my target audience and I realized I have to fix my own life first before I get an authority to influence other people. I know someday I will get back to this pending assignment of mine and by that time I will make sure that I am more equip in shaping the minds of the new generation of my beloved country.

gavinci13,
I think that that is an awesome topic for a blog, and I know that I could have benefited from reading such a blog when I myself was a teenager. Just don't ever give up on your topic and your passion for writing--you never know where it can take you. I have taught for many years, and I have seen my students excel in their writing and their content, and many of them found ways to make their content totally change their lives...you've got this!

That is a great way to help and at the same time educate people. I think you should not stop writing about it. Influencing people doesn't really mean you have a great life. Influencing for me comes with experience and real life events. I think you can make use of the experience you had and help people to become more aware of their events in life.

I have based some of my work as a freelancer on religion and sports, it's not easy doing a piece on religion, without being careful you might write something that would create a huge conflict. This is why I have never rushed any work I did on religion in order to cover all possible grounds that would open up misunderstanding. Sports is my favorite niche which I can easily close my eyes and do a good article on.

I tend to write whatever is needed, but mainly I work with gambling and other betting content as specializing in those have made me be able to charge a lot more for them, and there's a lot of demand for such content in high-paying areas (US, Europe) so while it's indeed very hard work, it's also paying very well.

If I had to change my niche, I'd probably go for aviation stuff because of personal interest. But that would really require a lot of studying, so likely won't be happening.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I am like you in that I too try to write "whatever is needed", but some topics and fields are really out of my depth! For example, I would not know where to START in terms of writing about one of your interests--the topic of aviation! That would take me a great deal of research as well. I try to write about things I know and things that I love, and if I can get something to write about that does both of those at the same time, then I am a happy freelancer, and I feel more confident in the content I am producing.

"....there's a lot of demand for such content in high-paying areas (US, Europe)...."

Europe and US are well known to participate in gambling and gaming stuff more, so basing ones work on such area would definitely fetch a lot of attention and traffic.

Even here in Nigeria, betting seems to be one of the hottest niche around, 95% of youths are currently actively involved in one form of betting or another.

Normally I like to write about topics and subjects that I know about. This makes it easier to write, because you're writing from the heart. True you have to do some research but it's easier. The Bible says to those who have, more is given. The more you know about a subject the better the ideas you have. I like to write about weight loss(both diet and exercise), beauty, personal development, cryptocurrency and cooking. Generally areas I have an interest in. If you do this you don't feel like it's a job, because you like the material you're interacting with.

It's nice to read DIY blogs particularly for projects that are easy to do. But when the DIY blog is not very clear and confusing, I just skip it. If you write for your passion, you will surely enjoy writing regardless of the earnings. When I started to write, earnings was not on the agenda and I was really surprised to receive money as payment for my efforts. Anyway, I am also thinking of writing about DIY but related to pets because dogs are my passion.

Aside from product reviews, I have also written articles for weddings, health, travel and technology. I am more comfortable writing product review especially if I have the experience of using the item. For those topics I am not really very much familiar, I would have to read a lot of resources and understand them to be able to further explain it. You would really learn a lot from doing content writing.

I often write articles about contemporary issues especially in my country Philippines, most of the time I write political topics because of the tension of the politicians in our country. I received a very nice and encouraging eMail from the editor. She said “I like your enthusiasm and energy. But you need to tone it down a bit.” LOL. What Types Of Articles Have You Written As A Freelancer? Then she proceeded to give me some advice on how to improve the article's presentation and make it look more professional.
