What Books Are On Your "To-Read" List?

What books do you have on your list to read at some point?

I have a ton, but the three I'd like to get to really soon are:
1. All Quiet on the Western Front by Elrich Remarque
2. I Have No Mouth & I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison
3. A Drifting Life by Yoshihiro Tatsumi

A new book titled ''I've Been Thinking'' was released last month by Maria Shriver. I love reading motivational and meditating books and this is what this book is about. I have two books to complete and once I am done I will see if I can get this one on Amazon Kindle.

"I love reading motivational and meditating books and this is what this book is about."

I'm actually very big on books about meditation--spirituality and motivation as well--so this sounds like it would be right up my alley.

Zig Ziglar once said, "People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily." I had realized the truth of this statement, and found that it really does help to keep new motivational material on hand, on a daily basis, in order to keep one's spirits up.

I think the title alone, "I've Been Thinking," is quite powerful by itself.

Zig Ziglar once said, "People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily."
Great quote. I need to remember that one. I tend to buy loads of motivational books but never find time to read them. This is a great reminder that I need to start.

I've just read through Amazon's preview of "The 5 Second Rule" (mentioned in another post) and I was feeling really tempted to buy it. But then I figured that it would be better to start off with reading some of the books I already own. Otherwise the new one is just likely to end up on the pile of books that I may never read.

A friend gave me the book The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. I haven't read it yet due to my very busy schedule. I look forward to read it soon.

I have learned that there is a book of Andres Bisonni about the Holy Spirit. Its free gift copy if you donate to their ministry. I have no copy yet because I have not given anything yet.

I bought another Ebook yesterday about one of our local dishes, the book is titled "The Little Adobo Book", it was written by Gene Gonzalez, one of the best chefs and restauranteurs in the country. I've been frequenting Amazon Kindle this past weeks and have bought several ebooks since.

This is really nice and a good way to learn more about food and how it is being prepared. Someone like me enjoys reading books on finance and how to make wise investments and not really interested in reading some home e-books as. However, what matter is that we develop on a daily basis.

I also love some eBook regarding different dishes and I am planning to buy a new book for it in the coming days since most of the time I am watching some tutorial videos in the you tube since there are a lot choices to have. I like the book of recipe since anytime you can scan the pages without waiting for the internet connection and it really works for me as well.

A recipe book is always on my list to read. These are the actual books I have since I love food starting from the preparation to serving it makes me feel satisfied and fulfilled. Ebooks are great as well but during cooking time a physical recipe book is more convenient to use and you're right about the last thing you said.

I just finished a great cook book yesterday it's written by my favorite chef Gene Gonzalez and it's titled "The Little Pulutan Book" it's all about the best dishes that can be partnered with beer or liquor. The word "Pulutan means bar food or food served during drinking sessions. It was a good read, I bought it in Amazon Kindle for $2.99.

I've never actually heard of anyone "finishing" a cook book so it was weird to read your reply (in a good way of course lol). Did you actually read every single recipe just as you would read a normal book? Or did you just go through the recipes and actually make every single recipe?

Stephen Hawking's "The Grand Design" is definitely on the top list. I got interested with it when i saw it in a national geographic episode. Stephen is a well known physicist and his works are really interesting. I even watched the movie about his life and this man is a genius...I can't wait to have a copy of that book.

My husband was saddened upon the news of Stephen Hawking's death. He said that the great astrophysicist was a genius that he had thought of so many theories that some have been proven. I think time travel was also part of Hawking's lectures. But to be honest, I don't think I can read that book. For sure I will develop mental fatigue.

I know what you mean Stephen Hawking books are really complicated sometomes. His book "A brief history of time" and it's sequel titled "A Briefer History of time"are great reads but as it gets
lengthtier it also gets tougher to understand.

That's a phenomenal choice, and I think it's super relevant giving that Stephen Hawking passed away recently. I have a hardcover copy of The Grand Design tucked away at my parents house somewhere. I really should dig out and give it another read. I read it when I was in high school, and I don't think I appreciated it then as much as I would now.

I was really saddened by the world's unfortunate loss of Stephen Hawking this year, but one can't deny that the man left a phenomenal legacy. Upon his death, I realized how it must have felt when Albert Einstein passed away, as Hawking played as similar roll for my generation. With his death still fresh in my mind, I've sort of been avoiding most material about him and his work, but I think I'm ready to dive back into it and read/watch some more, and learn more about his life's work in finer detail.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, Stephen is one of the great minds that have contributed on how we see physics and life today. His work about general relativity and quantum theory was the most significant in my opinion. Also his sense of humor is quite interesting specially with someone with such knowledge. As his famous quote said...
"Life would be tragic if it weren't funny."

Sometimes I would ask the world why is it so cruel to the good and important people in our lives..? Why would death take away such wonderful mind like that of Stephen Hawking? He was such a great loss to us and I cherish reading any of his works that I'm fortunate enough to come across.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Rich or poor, beautiful or ugly, brilliant or average, death does not discriminate. No matter who you are, where you're from, or where you're going, death will come for you.

Stephen Hawking lived to be 76 years old. While he certainly deserved more time, as he could have continued to revolutionize the world of physics, the world was blessed to have him for as long as we did.

When he was diagnosed with ALS, doctors didn't expect he'd live another two years. He continued to live for another 50!

A man with a brilliant mind and an incredibly strong heart, Stephen Hawking was a prime example of the human spirit's ability to persevere and thrive despite all odds.

What can I say Stephen Hawking was not only one of the greatest minds of our generation but he's also a survivor, his sheer determination and focus to work, think and live with his condition is something that no normal person can do. He is truly a superhuman. Too bad he doesn't believe in God though.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I haven't read that yet but I read Stephen Hawking's 'A Brief History of Time' some time ago. Last year I found out that he has another book which is titled 'A Briefer History of Time', I'm planning to read this book soon.

A book that I'm looking forward to reading is 'The 5-second rule' written by Mel Robins. I'm excited about this book because it has helped change many people's lives. It talks about a simple but scientifically proven method in which you have to count backward from 5 to 1, and when you do that you can actually hack your brain! By using this technique you can eliminate fear, procrastination, laziness, and become more productive.

I've seen the movie "Before I Fall" and its a good movie, I consider it as a teen movie but it tackles a serious subject which is death. What's good with this movie is it gives the audience a hint on what to do in life so that one wont regret anything. The message of this film is To Love, Experience and Live Life Happily.

I love to read books but now for entertainment and reading pleasure I like reading japanese mangas. They're like American Graphic Novels but they deal in more serious topics. Right now I'm fascinated with a manga titled Baki: The Grappler, it's a martial arts themed story.

I'm looking forward reading OVERWATCH anthology 1, this is a collection of a dozen overwatch stories. If you're not familiar with it, it's a video game from the company that made War Craft and Star Craft, it's made by Blizzard Entertainment. And the success of the overwatch game last year is now becoming a worldwide boom, this prompted them to release this Graphic Novel.

That sounds really interesting. I've played a little Overwatch, and I really enjoy the game, but I didn't know that they were publishing stories about the characters. Are they novel-like stories, or are my more comic book oriented?

A little in love by Susan Fletcher. Well, it is only on my to do list because I can't find the book anymore.
