Is it still possible to make money by writing ebooks?

As a writer, I have writing as a guest blogger for some time now and that has made me improve the way that I write. Just recently, I began having thoughts of writing an ebook on relationship and how it can work perfectly once some steps are taken.

However, I don't know how and whether we still make money selling e-books. So, what do you think about making money writing ebooks?

It is possible to make money out of ebooks, you can earn millions and millions of money if you love writing ebooks, the factors you need in order to get the life you have been waiting for making it as a passion of making ebooks, if you do not have a passion of creating ebooks, you just get bored out and not completing a whole 300 page book so you need passion to make ebooks, you also need to have the inspiration to make these kinds of books, as the saying says "Look down for concentration, look up for inspirations, but don't look around for information".And lastly, you need to practice and make books as much as you can, this means that this is your passion for creating books is your life, it would be nothing if you do not work on it so that's it have fun creating books, adios.

Hey, It is possible to earn money from eBooks. I know a man who earn millions because of his eBook. He has a lot if seminars and video that teaches everyone how to start selling eBook. Just find an interesting topic and sell it with low price. Start with that and gradually your earnings will grow.

Yes, there is a money in making eBooks. Just make sure to be copyright your books. Post your eBooks from any websites and put your price in it. I see eBooks with price when I am doing my thesis. So, definitely there are money in eBooks.

I also experienced that. Thesis are there real MVP. Without thesis, I don't think that many people will buy eBooks. I believed that they are just needed in doing some research. For proof purposes.

I've read that you can earn while writing eBooks but I never thought that you can earn that much. But maybe if you will write eBooks that will catch the interest of a lot of readers, then you will earn a lot of money. Though I know that most writers are not after earning a lot. Most of the writers I know are writing because it's their passion.

It's kind of the thing. Most writers who earned a lot from eBooks had quality writing in mind instead of going after money. And by doing that, they've earned their readers and gotten lots of profit from their hard work.

Do you know the movie named "The Martian?" It was actually first published in the author's website. He had no choice since everyone rejected his book. His submissions weren't accepted by any publishing house.

So he posted it there for free. Eventually, people began to read his works. They became fans of his writing. His fans asked him to publish it as an eBook and bought copies of it to support him. And they did this despite the free copy available on his website.

Of course you can make money selling your ebooks! Millions of ebooks are sold every year. But trust me that takes a lot of effort!
I would just advise you to write in your niche! Write about the things you know and love. There are a lot of online guides that would help you start this project from scratch. Before you start writing, do some research to understand how people are making money selling ebooks. It would be great if you'd learn some graphic designing so that you'd make an attractive cover because trust me, someone people out there buy books just because they like the cover! I agree an overall representation of your E-book is essential aside from the content. People tend to see the content by just checking the cover and how it is represented by the physical features and advertisements.

Yup. I'm guilty of that myself. I tend to evaluate content by its physical representation. A great cover will get to me to wonder what this book is about and is it worth it. But an ''ugly'' cover will usually make me lose any interest I have in that book, but this is not true in all cases.

Same here. I mean, we actually judge books by their covers. It's part of human nature. But I still read the information regarding it sometimes to give the book a chance. Not all ugly covers contain a badly written book.

Me too. Design makes a huge impact on potential readers. So you need to add professional covers instead of doing it yourself. It takes a lot of creativity to create the perfect cover.

I would just be wary about where he's going to be doing this research. There are probably hundreds of people out there selling ebooks about how to sell ebooks. And you know what you learn from them? You learn how to sell them the exact same way that they sold them to you. It's like a never ending loop of people selling the same get rich quick ebook schemes, so it's important not to fall for that when researching online. The whole ebook selling scheme is almost as bad as multi-level marketing (pyramid schemes).

Remember to keep your content original when writing ebooks!

Yup, there are a lot of people that are selling ebooks on how to sell ebooks, but the research I meant was to just really google it and read other people's experiences. And it really differs according to the topic he's trying to make an ebook about. He should take that into consideration and really understand that most people don't get rich overnight. It takes time and effort and maybe even failure.
There are a lot of websites that actually have great information for a beginner, for free.
And I agree, original content is a must. I don't think he'd be happy selling other people's ideas. This is unethical.

Yes, almost all of the students around the world refer on eBooks especially when it comes to thesis. eBooks is such a great help for references of study. I personally experienced having to buy eBook because there are no free version available.

Having a good book cover design would definitely increase the chances of people to take a look at your ebook. Most people are visual so the more attractive the cover is, the more you would standout from other ebooks out there. After getting attracted to the covering, people will then read your title. This is why you should be able to also pick a catchy title.

Yes. There is money in writing ebooks! Just keep it up and try searching how you'll develop your writings.
There are several writers who actually earn millions because of the stories they made on ebook.
I am not saying that you'll end up like them that fast. But with great effort, enthusiasm and knowledge about it, might lead you to become one.
My niece loves writing stories about relationship as well. That's how addicted she is on ebooks. Mostly, teenagers are fond of reading ebook stories, I suggest you search about what the youngsters are fond of reading, or what kind of twists are they looking for on a certain story.

Yes there is but you need to make a good one and spend time and money to market it. In my experience, if you're a relatively new author, it would be harder to sell your books unlike if your a well published one. But there are some enterprising individuals who makes money by making lots of ebooks in a several related niches. What's good in creating short ebooks is that it easy to make. When making ebooks always address a problem and target a particular group of people or niche.

Targeting a set of people is a good way to ensure that the aim of writing the ebook is achieved. I have come to notice that ebooks written by popular authors always sell fast as you can get to see that they have become quite popular. Yes it's possible to earn and i think it's a good way to have both passion and profit at the same time. But of course creating a successful E-book is not easy specially with competition. You just have to be consistent in creating good contents. Eventually everything follows.

You have a very good point about mentioning the presence of competition in the market for ebooks. Remember, we are in the era of digital technology and digital everything in almost all we do. So, ebooks is a hot trend that when you don't offer better and standard services, it's definitely not going to sell well.

I know that the competition in e-books is very stiff when you consider the countless e-books that are being published every day. But in fairness to the e-book writers, they have the people in their circle for support. For those with a dynamic social media account, they can promote the e-book there and they can seek the help of their followers in spreading the news about the new e-book. I've also started developing my own Infoproduct. It's not a ebook. It will contain lesson plans for teachers of English (power point presentations, worksheets, charts, flashcards, etc.). I put much effort and time in this project and I don't know if it brings me money or not because there are tons of materials on the Internet. But I will do it anyway and I hope someone will need it because I will offer lots of things all in one place to save teachers time in their preparation for the lessons. I am planning to finish the work in a year or so.

It's good to know that you identify your target market, the only thing to do is find that market and use all available resources possible to advertise it like social media and other platforms. The thing with using power point presentation is that people have not yet gotten bored of watching you demonstrate some of the things that they feel that it is going through benefit them. Of course it's still possible to make money from writing eBooks! If it weren't then there wouldn't be as many eBooks floating around on the internet as there still are. I myself have also thought about writing an eBook in association with the website I'm starting. However, I think that the first eBook I write, I'll be giving it away for free so as to more easily attract a decently sized fan base. I'll probably make donations available in case someone wants to contribute towards the making of the next book, haha.

That's a great plan! I have never thought towards this direction as all my mind is focused on how to make money while writing the e-book. However, it seems that this is one of the nice moves that I am going to make when we are looking at writing. That's one of the most beautiful things about the internet. People now have a platform where they can self-publish their work, and putting out your content is simpler and cheaper than it has ever been. Just look at YouTube. People are starting their own shows which are more popular than some traditional television shows, and all without the help of any networks. At the same time it's also a negative, because this massive availability has also resulted in a really crowded market. It used to be that even trash would sell simply because a publisher promoted it, but now even the best work can get lost in a sea of content.

I think e-books is a very popular format for books these days especially because you don't have to get the books physically. You suggest that you want to write on relationships, I think this is a popular idea, look at the success of books like He's not that into you, Chicken Soup of the Soul, Sick of Chicken soup. Well, from my understanding and experience, the world is in its digital format at the moment with just about anything we do today. I have seen some academic institutions scrape using of hard copy printed textbook but now shift to using only electronic books. This is a very good sign that ebooks will be seriously rivaling hard book copies and it means that a lot of money can be made off such ebooks.

You can still earn money from it, you just search on different websites that offer earning money from your book and I would suggest the site Patreon because it is definitely a good place for writers creating a book as well as it helps you sell your book. Anything is possible, that doesn't make it a good idea. You have to look at what content you can create, what audiences will pay for it, and what is the best way to deliver that content t its audience. It doesn't matter how good your ebook is if it is on a topic people want to watch in video form (e.g. gaming tricks) or read in print paper format (e.g. YA fiction). Time spent on an analysis in the beginning pays off more than any amount of effort made after you have already chosen an inefficient strategy.

It is still possible and I think there are more opportunities now. Since many people are opting for online shopping, many will surely browse through the ebooks section and there's a high chance they'll pick your ebook if there are high ratings and reviews. It's very much possible. The thing is that you'd need to do a bunch of stuff. You'll also need to be consistent with your work ethics. It's not a quick cash grab. Dedicated effort coupled with relevant knowledge is needed in order to succeed.

Well, I don't really know if she is earning a lot from it or not but she wanted me to also try doing it so I think she is really earning from it. Their are people who creates business by sharing their knowledge thru ebook and videos for example, what are the ways to become successful entrepreneur or ways to become rich. They create ebooks about the ways to become successful entrepreneurs and the effective way to become rich something like that.They will send you introductions first through emails or advertisement. You get entice by their ways of advertisement so sometimes you buy their ebooks. A lot of authors nowadays are publishing ebooks because of the worldwide appeal. There's this local chef which earns a lot through his ebooks. What he did was rehash his old books and republish it in parts. So a single book was made into 5-7 ebooks and all he did was to edit it.

This is a topic that could be debated, ad infinitum, due to the open-ended nature of the question. BUT, as someone who has a direct and current stake in the matter (lol!), it behooves me to comment on this.

Barida, you surely still CAN generate income with eBooks, but you have to think outside the box in order to cultivate new sales markets and target different, yet similar types of niches. It also helps if the material is as unique and interesting as possible. When I mentioned before that I had a stake in the matter, I just put to market an information product that I was able to format twice; the 1st instance being an information compilation, and a 2nd instance as an eBook for writers, with the compiled information being the bonus of the eBook.

I have no doubts as to the merits of the product and am steadily pushing right now to promote by using;

- Other Microjob Freelancing Sites
- Safelist Advertising Sites
- Classified Advertising Sites

and more resourcing that I've built up as a promotional armory. Your eBook/info-product promotion has to be set on constant, and in the areas that your laser-targeted market lives, works, and plays. This is one of the ways that those products and services you see kicking around on Social Media sites manage to capture eyeballs and purchases - because they're ALWAYS at it. Another point, Barida, is that you have to bring yourself to the markets. To be fair, I'm sure you're a great person, and what you have to say in the text of your writing would be of benefit to many people, but this is the first time I'm encountering your personage.

Get yourself in as many of the forums here on Ionicware as possible (as this is a separate forum from CodeClerks et al), get involved in other, relevant discussions where you have valid points to make that other posters may have missed, and just raise your profile in general.

Spread yourself out to other forums, and just be prepared to run-and-gun as much as possible. I've managed to get some traction over the years by exploiting Social Media resources and so on, but I also advertise and promote until I can't stand it and have to switch to another aspect of my digital enterprise.

I think that Ebooks is a good way to showcase a startup writers talent. A writer can set up his own site and post his ebooks there for free to get noticed and then he can sell his other works by promoting it and posting it in other portals. E-Books in my opinion is a good equalizer in terms of launching books by new and unpublished writers.

I don't know whether we can still make money selling e-books. What do you think about making money writing ebooks?

Most people no longer read "paper books" because:

- they are more expensive.
- if you can't find the book you want in a local store and you buy it online, you'll have to wait a while before you get the book you ordered.

The fact is, many people read ebooks. That is why writers can and still do make money selling ebooks. However if you write an ebook and do not promote it, you may not make any money from it. So when you write an ebook, next step is to find out who will be interested in reading that book and tell them about how your ebook will solve their problems.

It's that simple. People are looking for solutions to their problems. Convince them you have that solution and you'll make some decent money from your ebooks.

I believe it is possible to earn money in writing ebook especially when you have fan readers that really supports your contents. It may not be easy on start but time will come and your ebooks will gain attention. Also, most of the people have access to the internet and I believe that more people prefer on downloading ebooks because it is way cheaper and convenient to read. You can promote it through your social media accounts. Just continue on making good and meaningful contents and your sucess will come on your way.

I believe that you can still earn money by writing ebooks. Writing ebooks is almost the same as how you would write traditional books. How much you will earn will also depend on how your ebooks will attract customers/readers. I heard that some writers earn a lot by writing ebooks. I think you just need to know the things to consider when writing and publishing your ebooks. And do a research of Mistakes that you need to avoid when writing/selling ebooks.

I don't think writing e-books would net you much profit though. People online who want to expand their pages/brands would give out their e-books for free. I've seen this on many occasions. All they want in exchange is your e-mail address so they can send them the e-book. The e-books that I do see though that are on sale online are crazy expensive. I wouldn't pay $30 for an e-book and I doubt people would either.

You can earn by making ebooks there is no doubt about it, the question is, are you a knowledgeable enough to make an ebook? Are you a persistent person to publish an ebook?
You must have an informative ebook to earn money. Also keep in mind that we must be consistemt in updating it's contents and making some other ebooks because you will not earn by jus making one.

It is still possible to make money selling Ebooks as long as the topics of your Ebook is popular and has a market niche. Ive read an article before on how to sell your ebooks. It states that you should write about "how to' subjects because such topic are quite easier to sell to the people.

"How To" ebooks can sell well provided the information contained in the ebook you write can't be found elsewhere on the net. There are so many blogs posting tutorials showing people how stuff is done and then there are free videos too.

Before writing a "how to" ebook do your research well so you don't create an ebook that contains information that can be obtained free elsewhere on the net. However if this free information doesn't have what it takes to solve someone's problems then write that ebook.

Agreed. You can't write just one ebook and expect to make lots of money from it. Odds are your first ebook may not sell that well. You second may not fare any better but the point is since these books are already written you could sell them years after they were written meaning that time you spent writing them was wisely invested.

p.s And a second option is to whilst writing your ebook, sell other people's books on your blog. That would make you some money too and serve as motivation you need to keep (you) going.

If you put in the effort and consider the interest of people, know the target market, it is possible. Maybe post it for free first and then sell the upcoming ones so viewers would know what to expect. Or maybe create a website and put up your E-books in that site and run advertisements. I believe it is still profitable to write and sell e-book. Writing is the oldest and most noble profession and the question of whether there is still demand for book never arises. No matter how developed and advanced a civilisation has become, people always search for new ideas and inspirations. It can come in the form of book, cd, e-book etc, the demand for book is always high. The question is what topic can most excite the readers.
