Making a Passive Income through Writing an eBook

I just wanted to share with all the writers here that I was encouraged recently to take a step that I was too nervous to take for a very long time - write ebooks and sell them.

My feedback to you is that if you are thinking of doing this then really go for it, jump right in and get it done!

I finished writing my first eBook to sell about 2 weeks ago. On the first day I sold 2 eBooks. By the end of the first week I had sold another 2 and today I just sold 2 more.

This has totally 6 eBooks sold in under 2 weeks. Yes it took me a long time to create the eBook and I did quite a bit of marketing and I will continue to market it... but from now on most of my income is passive income.

.. And that's the best part of writing and selling eBooks! - The passive income!

Lynne, I'm truly glad you got off the fence and took a leap of faith so to speak. I myself am an author too and I was really scared when I published my very first eBook. As always, with a good and solid product and with proper marketing you'll always be able to score some sales.

How many sales are impossible to say, not even a scientist would be able to say an accurate number.. But from the time you've published your eBook. Right here on WordClerks, ListingDock, on your own blog or website, or on any other marketplace.. From that time, you've established a passive income. Especially on Ionicware's marketplaces as you'll be able to deliver digital products instantly. - That's truly awesome! - Way to go Lynne, I'm rooting for you!

Thanks Andre, I am really so excited and happy. I do have to thank you and the rest of the community here and on SeoClerks and ListingDock for the support, guidance and encouragement.

I might still be sitting wondering whether or not I should write an eBook if it wasn't for all of you rooting for me!

Writing ebooks is very fulfilling, and it can certainly be a good source of income. I never got to do it myself but it is a secret hope I have for the future. I am glad for you and I am sure that you can do well as I know that you write from the heart, from experiences and with feeling. I really wish you all the best, and I hope that you will get what you deserve from it.

Wow! That is really inspiring. I also wanted to write e-Books but I am still skeptical. Probably because I still don't know how to start. If I may ask, do you also sell your e-Books outside wordclerks? And also, are you sticking on one niche or topic and various sub-topics or you do different ones? Congrats by the way. ^_^

Congrats on your success. I think in order to continue your progress you should use every available avenue to promote your book as possible. Who knows where that will lead. Not just in terms of your first e-books continued success - but also in terms of future releases.

That is right. She needs to find ways where to sell it. She should write more books and inspiring articles that people will get interested in.

The good thing about ebooks is that once you make one filled with valuable information, people will continue to buy it and that's a great way to remain in the business of earning. One thing that I'm going to advise is you take out time to promote your eBook and relax to see how you sell high.

Well done. Good encouragement for the rest of us that are still figuring out how to do it. You're right it's all about the marketing. People need to know that your E-book exists. In my experience one of the most important things about an E-book is the title? Does it attract people's attention and promise to provide crucial information. I like how steady, your sales are. I wish you could tell us more about your experience, so that we may learn.Best of luck!

From what I understand, an e-book is similar to a blog that you get views called traffic. And based on the reads you get, you earn from it. If only I could write an e-book maybe I had done it already because it’s nice to have a passive income. Right now, our blogs is earning very slow because it has stagnated although we got $100 from the last 3 years of existence. With an e-book, I think that’s also the case. Even if it stagnates, it tends to earn you no matter how little.

I have already written my first eBook but I have not yet published it. My plan is to develop a series of storybooks for kids. I have some modifications to make in the first eBook. I actually got some people to review the book for me. I want it to perfect. I am just hoping that I will be successful in selling this eBook.

I've written several ebooks but as a ghost writer but a month ago I tried ordering for an Ebook but the result isn't that good I had it revised again since Amazon Kindle has a bunch of requirements before I could sell it. Also I'm currently writing an Ebook now and I hope it along with the one I ordered for $20 would make me some money as soon as it's posted.

That's good news! It's one of my projects this year. And so far I've completed 5 ebooks and I'm behind schedule because I need to complete 7 more to make it a dozen before I publish it.

I'm very happy to see that a fellow freelance writer is earning passive income by selling e-books. I know that it's not that easy to market and sell.

In my opinion making passive income from publishing ebooks is only feasible for well known authors or those who are considered as well known authorities in their niches or people with celebrity statuses. It's because they don't have to market their works too much banking on popularity they do less marketing and get more sales and that equals to good passive income.

Well known writers were once not that well known.

Most writers have to start somewhere and whether you are successful at what you do or not hinges on two things: how good a writer you are and your determination to succeed.

1. If you already are a good writer then find ways to market your book.
2. If you are good at marketing, learn how to writer better.

p.s I'm currently writing my first ebook and I have a firm believe that I can sell about 5 ebooks a day. Now if I'm prolific enough and write 10 or so ebooks a year I'd be making $50 in passive income daily after one year.
