How to make a Viral Facebook Article

I use Facebook a lot. I check on my newsfeed everyday. And recently, I have seen a lot of articles posted by different pages that have become viral. These articles (which, in all honesty, aren't even very well written) have received numerous likes, hearts, and comments from various users.

Facebook is a great source of traffic for articles. And an article going viral on Facebook would definitely boost ad revenue or sales!

Do you have any tips on how to write an article that would go viral on Facebook? After writing an awesome article, what else should be done in order for it to become viral?

You really can't predict a Facebook post to go viral. There's really no sure way. Even if you have the scoop on something juicy, if your followers don't share it, people won't know about it. I guess to make anything viral, you have to have the right people like famous influencers.

This is very true. I run a Facebook page and none of my posts went viral on a large scale but it did became famous because people who were interested about it shared my article and mentioned their friends. However, I was just lucky at that time I guess. There's no formula to making viral posts/articles on Facebook that even paid advertisements don't work or make an impact that much anymore.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

rlpzbeermoney
Yes. In short, there is no sure way formula to a viral Facebook post. The really controversial ones, like a bus crash in the area I find, have people tagging their friends and relatives and that goes really viral quick. It seems to me viral favors controversial more.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
True. Posts that have relevance to the general public are more likely to become viral instead of more complex and academic topics. However, I've also noticed that more posts about nonsense things are becoming viral like quotes or memes that 'for me' doesn't even educate people but does only poison their minds with information that aren't worth giving time with.

I don't know how to make a viral Facebook article. I am happy just to like and share what I am interested in. I don't desire to have a viral Facebook article.

I'm also in the same boat. I find that people in social media are too loose in their postings and sharings. What if a person with much time to kill decides to randomly steal your identity or blackmail you over certain things. That's why we should practice social media practices when using these sites.

I can relate to you. I never tried making an article that may go viral. I just love reading this kind of content and I think I am contented of reading and sharing it with others. I think the best thing to make your content go viral is by having one influencer to share your content. If someone who is famous likes or comment on your article then this can generate a lot of views and shares.

I would have to agree with you on this. Facebook posts do not guarantee anything nor anyone can predict if this will go viral. Needless to say, social media users shares, like or follow posts because they can relate themselves, they understand the post or it caught their interest. Users have different tastes and interests, so it still depends how a writer does the approach.

I agree with you. You can't tell if your post will go viral. It will go viral with famous people.

It really helps if you have a huge following on social media. Regular people nowadays have at least 1k friends on Facebook, though they are mostly strangers. I'm not in the same boat as I value my privacy and I don't want my newsfeed to be filled with other people's garbage. I guess I'm just not suited for "viral" and that's okay.

If your post does not go viral it might still enjoy some good circulation. Also I was wondering if anybody ever republished a Facebook article at sites that accept republished content like LinkedIn or Medium. Your content could be exposed at 3 different locations on the web. The good thing about sites that accept republished content is that Google does not penalize the write for duplicate content. I'm just thinking out loud.

I think it helps if you ask for help sharing your post. Like, mention right after the article or post to "please share it with your friends" tag or something like that. Also, make it entertaining and funny, or controversial, as I notice those were posts that usually get more attention and go viral.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you. It helps if you ask help from others to share your posts. Ask them to like and tag your posts.

It also helps if you have the right amount of superactive friends on the platform. The possibility of your posts to be shared is almost guaranteed considering they like you LOL.

It's kind of sad that controversial posts are the ones that do get the viral status. People really crave scandals and I think that's just human nature. Marketers abuse this behavior of people and use it to there advantage in making something viral.

I know right? I do not understand why the majority of people do not care more about good news and are much more interested in controversies or bad gossips about celebrities and such. What do they get from them anyway? I guess that's just how people are wired and no one can really do anything about it.

If you want to get youelr video or article viral on Facebook, you should post something funny, interesting snd also you need to post something that is knowledgeable so that the people will spend their time on watching or reading those kind of stuff.

Definitely helps to make something viral if you post something funny. Apart from that, I noticed that inspirational, family and relationship posts are often shared and gets better likes. Maybe because a lot of people can often relate to what is posted so I suggest to include them as well when making a post.

I would have to agree with you on this. It always depends on the content of the video. Post something that people will have interests in it. Like example, something funny, knowledgeable, and can be useful so people will definitely spend time watching it without hesitations.

I think in order to have a viral Facebook article is that we need to be creative on our writing, we must make it sure that it is a very unique and interesting article that we are going to have. It should also jives with the current or latest trend so that it will be catchy and interesting to everyone. I know if we can have such those particular hints then it might be possible that our article would go viral.

Facebook is unpredictable. You will find some trash that will hurt your reputation goes viral and what you hsve taken time to resesrch and write becomes dormant. Some revealing images used to go viral before facebook changed its posting terms.

You should also create a post that resonates well with a majority of people. In such a manner the post will generate numerous views and many will want to share it with their friends hence making it even more viral.

I haven't really tried posting my articles on Facebook so I am not really sure how to make it viral. But if you want more views, tagging people and asking them to share can actually help. Also you can join groups where you can mention about your post. If you are willing to spend a little money, you can also try the Facebook Ad. This is just to get initial followers and likes. After that it is up to you to post quality content that the followers you gained can share and spread.

To make your content go viral, you need to know the triggers that will make people share and like your content. As I notice, most of the articles or issues that went viral on Facebook were related to helping people. People who have been a victim of natural disasters, elders who have been abandoned or a kid who wants to go to school but cannot afford to do so. This is because most people always have the instinct to help others. And they know that by sharing this kind of content, the chance of getting help is higher.

One of the ways that you are going to make this happen is by picking a niche and focusing on writing contents that teach people things on such niche. If you are good in finance department, you can pick the best ways that people can invest their money and start talking about it, this way, you are going to make popular posts at the end.

Some people make the grave mistakes of choosing an exhausted niche and as a result of that, such articles wouldn't mean anything to the readers as they wouldn't have anything new that hasn't been said before to comment on the article in order to make it go viral.

Pick a hot niche and create a high quality content. It will definitely boom with traffic as lots of people are going to take interest in replying, sharing of the article.

One reason I don't post a lot of articles on Facebook is that I am a bit concerned about copyright. If I do, then I put that it is my copyright. I have never put an article on youtube. My guess is that these viral articles are done by people with good knowledge of marketing and SEO and that the people are also paying Facebook to promote the post.

This is a fabulous method to utilize the intensity of social confirmation to add some expert to your image and increment the chances of different influencers to share your article.

Sometimes I have seen some articles they exaggerate the title that sometimes its not that really true so when you read the article, It's either its far from the title it self or they make an exaggeration to the story even if its not really meant that way.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

esteban123
Yes that is right and it is really irritating at some time since it is far from what you are expecting on the title of a certain article. It only triggers me to lose value and interest on it even though I was very excited at first to read the said article.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

edencaga
Yeah that's irritating also for me. I just hate seeing those kind of articles or titles. It should be done smoothly and surely so that audience will appreciate more the article and the writer. They may want to think of another enticing words for their title that's very accurate to the article they have written.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

esteban123
I think we should make our title or heading of a particular article be relevant as to the content of it so it will easily goes viral since many people can really relate to your post . The good thing here is that they can easily adapt and jives with the article because all of the contents are true and not fake or exaggerating only.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I strongly agree with this. I have seen those kinds of posts and noticed that some websites are paying those kinds of posts. Moreover, the more people click on those said posts, the more websites will earn. I am not sure but they call it, pay per click.

Sometimes folks only value money so it's okay for them to create such useless articles and trick us with their titles. With that, the more people click on the post, the more pennies they can get and I think its not a good idea.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NesMarcos
That is truly agreeable. These people are indeed tricky and absolutely nonsense. The more clicks we do in some posts, pennies are overflowing from their pockets.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mdayrit
So true! I have been a victim of such post as well. The title that you click sounds so urgent or controversial but when you read the content, you'll end up asking yourself "so what's the big deal with that?". In addition, there are post that the title is way different than what is in the content. People who are doing these post are really good in making post title that can easily get the readers attention.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I can relate to you. Some people create an enticing title to attract people to read their content. It is their strategy, they create lies for their own sake. And the bad thing is that you really need to read it to know what the article is all about.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

edencaga
That's their strategy just to make fool of us and that's not a good idea. I have the same experience as you like you were expecting that the content was so much into controversy but then again it end up so disappointing. They are just thinking of earning a money but not valuing the true purpose of being a writer.

LOL, yeah. I've seen a lot of those. There was one where it says you can earn like $100 in a day and such then upon reading all of it you'll realize that it's all a sales pitch for a multi-level-marketing scheme. These are times when I feel I've wasted minutes of my life and I want it back.

Write an article that is most talked today and for sure many people will find it interesting. There are articles that are not so viral because of the content itself. Try to search about the article that you will writing for and more importantly you have the heart in doing it and have a passion on it, not just because you just want to be viral and be famous.

There is only one way, you have to set your target. Anything you post must earn very many likes and comments.

Know what people like most and post on the same. Be engaging in your comments.

Keep on trying to answer people's disturbing questions.

Put entertaining vedeos and gifs. You are there.

I think that the key to going viral is to create some kind of controversy.Write an article that gets people's attention. An article that people will want to share again and again because they are moved by it emotionally. They either agree with it strongly or disagree. Write an article that blows people's minds away. Why do you think on Twitter president trump is forever trending? Because he makes comments outrageous.

The one method which a lot of people use although it is not great is focusing on controversial content. A lot of times though you will find that some of them rely on hearsay and fail to verify their rumors properly. they may end up propagating a story inappropriately which is bad.

I personally think that one of the elements of viral posts is the attached photo. Most of the time, people see pictures first before the captions, thus, there are some users who use a picture that will really catch the attention of the public even though it's very far from the captioned text. Anyway, that is just my observation, in our country, a lot of people do it here.

Yep, try looking for a very controversial subject and write a piece that labels it's supporters and detractors as idiots and post it and share it to relevant groups and within an hour or two, you'll get a lot of attention and a lot of threats also.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This is very true with looking for a very controversial subject and writing something appealing would definitely scout the interest of so many people who will invest so much time in arguing with one another on the issues that would be discussed on the subject matter that you have written.

Fake news are viral in social media but I am not saying this for you to do it. Spreading lies not the truth is a nonsense because at the end of the day you not only fool the people around you but also you fool yourself too. Write something that gets the attention of others. I am sure it will make viral.

I agree on that facebook help to get traffic specially if your articles are very interesting for everyone. Its best to get your topic from youtube, morning and night news are very helpful and if you like checking your feeds all time, there you can get right away topics that you can start with. Once you checked the article or a video, look on how many people viewed it. You can start your article on that video reached 1.M means people are interested, trending and more chances that they will read about it.

Facebook truly is a great platform to earn traffic. We cannot say that all posts will go viral since we are not sure of what trend might show up on the next days. What I could suggest is to collaborate with social pages that has a lot of followers and ask for their help in promoting your content. Another way is to create a content in which can make a fire and smoke around the people uses that platform. On that way, they can gain followers and supporters for their page and you will gain traffic for your website.

I feel like so many of these articles have success because they write click-baity titles. There's something in the title that tends to draw people in, get them interested, and leave them wanting more - so much so that they click into the article. You know the types of article titles I mean -- things like "you'll never believe why so-and-so did this!" and things like that.

I haven't had a post that has gone viral on Facebook. Mainly because I don't post a lot and I recently quit going to the site completely too.

But from what I noticed, viral posts tend to be unique or has not been posted before. Some of the viral posts are also about the latest trends or memes. Sometimes it could be about controversial things that people can't help sharing with their network.

People like images. In order for your article to be shared a lot, you need to include plenty of images in that article. But those by themselves won't get you much or any "action" at all if you don't get some people to like your post first.

Convince a number of your friends to "like" and share your posts. And ask them to request their friends to like and share that post. Get your first 100 likes and you'd be well on your way to getting more of them.

I've also heard of groups on FB where members help each other out - like, share, etc. If you join one of these active groups and everyone actually does what they are supposed to be doing then there's a high likelihood that your post might go viral.

From what I see in the social media today, the article will go viral if it is getting the attention of those people who always online on thier facebook. And the more funnier or controvesial the topic the more it has chance to get their attention. And one of the important factor is to engage to the current topic that is happening in the world. In that way the people will get attach to your article easily.

I don't think there is some set formula or method which will ensure that your article becomes a big hit and becomes viral on Facebook. it can be very much dependant on how active you are on facebook. If you spend a considerable amount of your time on posting and replying to posts of your friends and followers then that will be the first step to make your post viral. you must be very aware of things happening around you and should keep on creating posts that are very popular amongst the readers. Posting about something which has happened in the recent time and is controversial is bound to get some amount of traffic. I guess if you keep on following such things then eventually some of your posts will definitely click and become viral.

Just reiterating that another key ingredient that will probably make your article go viral is creating content that evokes emotions. Be it negative or positive. But according to researchers, while content which elicits negative emotions does get shared a lot it doesn't get as many shares as anything else that will make people feel good.

I've seen stories and videos about kindness get shared a lot too.

I find this topic absolutely fascinating. We have to ask ourselves what makes anything go viral? I think it's the human interest angle.I agreed that, trying to artificially make your article go viral by buying ads is a horrible idea. This is the school of art that suggests that your article will go viral when people see the number of clicks you have gotten. I think this is absolutely wrong. I think the more interesting and unique your article or video the more chance your post go viral. interesting features like pets, young children always go viral. I would say also consider your niche.

Anything can become viral. As long as it is something funny, enjoyable or entertaining ANYTHING can really be viral especially when it comes to Facebook. I mean just look at the yodeling kid. He became a famous internet sensation and got fame because of people sharing and reacting to his video. Once the social media gets a hold of your video and it goes to other media sites such as YouTube or Instagram then from there your journey begins. Facebook is just the beginning.

I agree that it helps to share your article to other social media platforms. I also agree that humor helps a lot. I suspect that articles with the most shares and likes are the funny ones. I think also video content helps. I have seen video content with dogs and kids doing something funny go viral with millions of likes and shares. I think the takeaway is that content matters if you want your article to go viral or any other social media platform.
