What Do You Think Is The Best Ebook Aggregator?

Some authors will have their books listed only on Amazon for obvious reasons. They lose out on much because unless you have your book listed in other marketplaces, you won't sell to people who won't try to find your book on Amazon.

Ebook aggregators can be the answer you need if you want your ebooks to make you more money. You upload your book and the they distribute it to a number of online retailers.

IMO draft2digital is the best ebook aggregator out there because they'll deliver your ebook to:  amazon, apple books, barnes and noble, kobo and a few other outlets.

Honestly I haven't published any ebook yet but, I might consider your tip in using ebook aggregator for future use. And yeah, having your work published on different marketplaces will give you higher chances to get more customers who will buy your ebook. As much as you can publish your ebook to different marketplaces then why not grab the opportunity, and I think yes using ebook aggregator is very helpful.

What is an e-book aggregator? This is the first time that I've heard of it. But if the aggregator is some kind of a broker that helps you in the marketing of your e-book then I guess they get a commission from the sales. If the percentage of commission is less than 10% then I think that is just fine but not more than that. To be frank, writing e-books is not on my agenda because I find an oversupply of writers and there is not much demand. Maybe when the writers become in demand then that is the good time to write e-books.

What is an e-book aggregator?

You could also call them distributors.

What they do is convey your books to a number of online stores and collect the money on your behalf. Considering that there are people who can't withdraw their earnings directly from Amazon and other online retail outlets, using a third party distributor like draft2digital would enable them sidestep restrictions of this nature.

If the percentage of commission is less than 10% then I think that is just fine but not more than that.

Draft2digital takes a 15% cut of your earnings.

I don't know if these are aggregators or not. I've signed up on issu and Scribd under a subscription model. I get to read and download any ebook of my choosing for a monthly fee. I think they also accept work of individuals and they can earn on the site. Don't quote me on this though. I only used those services for school work. In fact, it's a hub for students to copy paste presentations for school.

I think I would consider this. But I am having some doubts. If a writer has just began writing and selling e-books, 15% of your profit would seem a little too much. Since I am only just starting. But I think it is a pretty good way to get your E-book out there.

Has anyone here tried Draft2digital? how was it?
Has anyone tried other aggregatords?

Oh, this is my first time hearing about this type of distributors. E-book aggregators are such a perfect aide for people who are struggling to widen the scope of their target readers. This is nice avenue for me toto learn as I am also planning to publish my e-book soon.

Having read all the comments. I think it is worth trying E book aggregator. Although the profit cut is 15% of your earnings, it is still a good deal since your e book will be distributed to various online store and the process of payments will be on their behalf. To the starter of this thread, have you ever published an e book with an e book aggregator? Can you share us your experience specifically?

The 15% cut on your earnings from those sales is not something that we should be worried about that much. The basics is that you are selling and making some profits from it as well which is amazing.

I intend to publish an ebook soon and at the moment and what I'm doing right now is doing all I can to find out everything about self-publishing before I choose which publishing platform would get me what I need.

As for ebook aggregators, while I haven't had any experience using them as a conduit to the marketplaces, I've heard some good things said about "smashwords" (another distributor) but what I don't like about them is they can't sell your books on Amazon.

You have a point. For newbies, it may be a good experience to at least try the E-book aggregator.

I haven't tried publishing a book on Amazon or any marketplace because the majority of readers here in my country read on wattpad and some on printed books. However, with your tip, I might just reconsider publishing an ebook and try to use the services of an ebook aggregator. Thanks for the tip Jeane.

E-book distributors are always a good way that you can get to make your e-book reach out to as many as much people that we want. The downside of selling the e-book only on Amazon is that not many will be pushed to buy it from there as well.

I subscribe to Blinkist to read ebooks. They have a collection of ebooks and I like that some come with an audio file so you can choose to just listen if you like. I'm not sure if its an ebook aggregator though.

I haven't publish any ebook yet, but in our country there's a website that will give an author a chance to post the ebook they are selling for free.

It took me a while to publish my first and only ebook. It wasn't easy for me to do so back then because I was still learning how to do make ebooks then and I had little experience on the job. But now, there are so many ways of making ebooks and there are video tutorials online to help you do that with ease.

You learn something new everyday. I also have never heard of an Ebooks Aggregator. I think that this is a fantastic idea.I would love to know more about how these E- book aggregator works. Do they just allow you to present your E-book.Are they any requirements.Do they assure you that they will sell your book? Do they have a particular format? However Great tip. I will be sure to check it out.

Do they just allow you to present your E-book

You upload your book as Word Document. They’ll format the book for you. How well that will be done I don't know but they say if you are not happy with how your book looks you can contact customer support.
Are they any requirements

All the ebook aggregators have requirements which have to be met. They have some formatting guidelines, minimum words counts and so on.
Do they assure you that they will sell your book?

The only assurance you get is the book will be "deployed" to ebook marketplaces listed on their sites. There is no guarantee that your book will be bought so you’ll need to do most of the marketing yourself.

This aggregator seems the best thing that ever happened. I will need it as am thinking of writing an ebook soon. How much do they charge to distribute your book?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jeane
None of the aggregators charge you an upfront fee for using their services. However when your book gets sold they'll keep a percentage of your profits. How much of your money they'll keep varies from aggregator to aggregator.

The one thing most freelancers who aren't American citizens won't like about Smashwords is their tax withholding policy. Amazon already withholds 30%, and if Smashwords also withholds 30% and keep their commission, what are you left with?

From what I have read online about IMO draft2digital, most of the reviews were very positive on how good it is with ebook work.

I haven't yet used IMO draft2digital but if I have need to use any ebook aggregator, I'm definitely going to use IMO draft2digital.

I will try to do some research on this topic and hopefully could share to those are interested. I still believe that an EBook aggregator is a viable way for writers to earn according to my initial findings.

I am not sure they are the best, but if you use somewhere like Lulu.com or Creatsespace.com there is an option to submit the book to a lot of different places. However, this then marks the book as self published in the eyes of a publisher. I suspect the best way is to write your own book, add a bought ISBN and then make your own list of where you want to sell and submit separately to each place you choose. However, I have never tried this and am just telling you what I think I may do in future.
