Do You Write to Inform or to Inspire?

Do You Write to Inform or to Inspire?

I admire a lot of writers especially those who authored inspirational and informative materials. I owe them a lot whether they're informative or inspirational. I am blessed to have the opportunity to read books of John Maxwell, Og Mandino, Joyce Meyer and David Bernard. I have learned a lot of wonderful things from them. So, what kind of writer are you? Are you one of those who wrote to inform and teach something or are you belong to those who wrote to inspire and give hope to other people whether by true stories or fictional one.

I am a mixture of both. As a writer, I have made articles that are basically done to inform people especially when I was making contents for a sports blog. Also, I have been making inspirational articles as well and this is the part that made me popular because I started gaining fans over a period of time because of the way that I write.

I would like to write to inspire. I would not write just to inform only. Success is 99 percent hard work and one percent inspiration.

Yea that's true, success is 99 percent of hard work and one percent of inspiration, without that inspiration success sometimes is incomplete.

That's right. Success is incomplete without inspiration. Inspiration is the icing on the cake.

Yea I do blog majorly on news but I stopped that too, I started posting to inspire people online with my twitter account and it was fun and wonderful because people will look up to you daily for inspiration.

I aim to be the mixture of both too, I would love to inspire and write educational article.

This is true. it must be a combination of the two. We should write to inform and to inspire.

Same. I also write with both mindsets. However, most of the articles I write are made with with both mindsets being used at one. Like for instances where I like to inform my audience about an issue about the society and then I also want to set an example, and so I find myself using those examples as inspirations at the end of the article.

That's a good tactic. You first inform. Then move on to inspire in the next.

Thanks. It's actually a very good way of making your readers feel the connection that some writers can't give because a lot of readers nowadays, based from my observation, also wants to have a sense of connection (can relate) to the things that they're reading. And so, I always make sure to give that sense of connection with the inspiring stories/lessons I try to include on my write-ups.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That's right. The mixture of information and inspiration will do. The content should have both.

I am also a fan of inspirational writers. I love reading their books because it really lifts you up. It helps you think positive when there seems to be a lot of negativity around. That is one hard thing to do so I think they are really talented with what they are doing. The articles I am always asked to do are more on the informative side rather than inspirational.

I agree with you. I prefer to write in order to inspire. Inspirational books changes the lives of many people.

It also have people with depression in some certain way, have been there once and I know the efforts of my family, friends and love once that save me. Inspiration changes lives.

Glad to know it helped you in a way with your depression. Writers may not realize how helpful their words are just by simply giving inspirational words but their works really make a difference in the lives of their readers.

I also follow daily inspiration because we all need inspiration in life, sometimes things may not go as planned and we feel that all hope is lost, both inspiration and motivation put us back to our feet and continue struggling.

That's true. Sometimes we get discouraged in life. When we read of inspirational stories, we will keep on holding on to our dreams and visions.

This is a reality for all of us. There always would be struggles in life. A little inspiration everyday to remind us that life is good, is a very helpful for us not to give up on our dreams.

If I may ask, which writer inspires you the most? Could you recommend some of the inspirational writers that you follow?

I feel like both of these aspects are important, as together they create a potent combination of information and emotion. I feel being able to put those two things together sets you aside as a writer.

There are is no doubt that being an informative writer is good, as long as you make sure all your content information is complete and legal, it makes you a good writer. Also to to have a written article that is designed to motivate and inspire, it's equally good as well.

I really haven't written any inspirational content or article ever. Most if not all of my writings are written with the purpose of conveying relevant information to it's readers. I do think that there are writers who are experts in writing inspirational pieces and there are those like me which specializes in writing informative blogs or articles.

I do think some writers have the talent and are just meant to write inspirational content. I also have not written anything for the purpose of inspiring others. I guess I do not have the ability yet.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Haven't experienced writing inspirational content also. I also think writing inspirational books really needs experience where they can get lessons and advices to write about. It will be hard for a writer to give inspiration to others if he/she also needs inspiration to write.

I think I also strive to be both. I primarily write about off the beaten path travel destinations, so firstly I try to inform people about the fact that those places even exist. Then I try to inspire them to go and visit!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Exactly! Writing for both purposes would give your work a complete sense of accomplishment. To have an article that would not only inform but also motivate as well as being a source of inspiration to your readers is a huge breakthrough.

I think most writers would feel the same way, too! Being able to achieve both information and inspiration in the one piece really does help to engage your readers - and I think that's what we all strive to achieve. Making a connection through the written word is such a big part of being a writer! Do You Write to Inform or to Inspire?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That is very commendable trait and all writers should really strive for it in their respected fields. Aside from news, I feel like all writers have the duty to inspire their readers. I thinks it is really the dream of all true writers. I said true, because there are also a lot that seeks to misinform and cause panic and confusion to the masses. Those who write fake news are not true writers.

I always think it's important to write to inspire, as I always like to read the books or articles written by those inspirational authors, such as Dr. Wayne Dyer, those books always help us to find the path we really want to walk in our life,I also like to write to inform as well. There are many facts that I would like to share with others, hence I will first share about the facts or happenings that I have found, and hope that my written piece will inspire someone. I find that even a piece of informative article can be inspiring too. So perhaps my ultimate goal is to learn to inspire others.

I think most of the time I am writing to inspire other people because it feels great if there are some people who are being motivated and inspired after reading my articles. It was been one of my habit to write inspirational articles so that I can help others who are on a depressed mode to keep going no matter what happens since life is an endless streets that we need to walk through.

I like to read the work of the writers who inspire me through there writing and definitely I would like to see people get inspired by my writing someday. I think that we all aspire for the higher goals in life and we are always searching for different kinds of inspirations which help us in reaching our goals. It would feel great to help and inspire people through our writing to achieve their goals in life.

My aim is to do both. A writer always has a message that underlies what they say. I do not think we can get away from this. There is a reason why we write. If the message does not inspire, the reader will neither return to read us futher, or act on the message. Good writing has to have an active and not a passive reaction or the purpose of wrting is defeated.

The way we use words works to inspire the reader. This is the difference between someone who writes and a writer. Words do not inform, they invoke reaction.

I can write, "hammer that nail." This informs the reader a nail needs hammering. However, if I write " hammer that nail," The reader knows and feels the impact. The nail must be hit hard. There is emotion in the way the word "hammer" is written.

If my writing does not impact the writer and make them feel or want to do something then it needs revision.

There is always an overlapping between inspirational/motivational and informational writing. We sometimes unconsciously or conveniently inserted informational piece into our inspirational writing/article to enhance its impact and quality. To me, both genres complement each other, and writers should not attempt to separate them when writing. Each can enhance the quality of the other and will be more meaningful if an article contains both elements.

It depends on my motivation. Sometimes my mind just come up with an idea so I feel like writing it to inform others. There are also times that I was being inspired and I write it also to inspire people. I often write inspirational work based on my experiences because I can easily write its content. I also write depends on the situation and I like exploring things so I don't just usually stick on one theme.

I love reading Chicken Soup for the Soul series. The Inspirational true stories featured in the books are so touching and endearing. Reading the collection of short stories comforted me when I was having a hard time. I would like to be a writer who can inspire and have the same positive impression on others like these books have done to many.

I've found that my goal when I write is to inspire, whether or not I reach that goal is to be decided. I have written both informative and creative pieces, and always find myself flowing more with the informative pieces. I think my desire to be inspirational in my creative pieces hinders my ability to write freely. It's quite the vicious cycle, and I have stuck to more informative pieces because of it. I am still young in my writing career, so I have time to work more on letting my creative side show without the pressure to be inspiring. I feel once I drop that, my work will come to be inspiring much more naturally.

This depends on the niche you are in, as well as the clients. Personally, I like reading inspiration articles. Every morning, the first thing to do is reading inspirational articles or blogs.

Because of my niche, I have not had a chance of writing articles that inspire. Instead, I write informative articles, although I will consider the idea.

For me I write to inform and to inspire. So I chose both because when you are writing an article, it is basically you informing your reader about it and at the same time you inspire them to something from your article that might help us in the end.

Writing about my passion, I can say that I write for both to inform and also to inspire the readers. My passion is pets particularly dogs so you can imagine that I am writing from my own experience. There is emotion because usually I write with feelings and I want to touch the hearts of my readers. Of course, there is always the information that I share regarding dogs that I find interesting and not common.

The goal of my writing is always both - to impart new information and provide inspiration. It's actually hard to write one without aiming to do both. An article that aims to inform without inspiring would be senseless, while an article that aims to inspire without informing would be empty. In the end, both are useless to the reader, because the very essence of writing should include those two core elements.

I write to inform and to inspire. Sometimes, I do both in one writing, sometimes, I do one. It depends on my target audience and it depends as to where I am submitting my written work to. But, most if the time, I like to write something that inspires. Nothing is more heartwarming to a reader than coming across a passage that hits her and makes her inspired to carry out her day.

Sometimes it is also good to write to inform since we can really help a lot of people especially if we will write about some tutorial lesson or videos, it is really worth it since many people would be interested from having it. Writing simple articles to inform everybody into certain things is really a great idea because people are eager to learn on certain things that they really don't know about to improve their knowledge and experiences as well.

I am a mixture of both. As a writer, we need to inform our readers of what we are trying to say and at the same time inspire them with our stories. I would like to add some situations in my stories wherein people can be informed of what is happening in our country and at the same time inspire them of what they can do to solve those problems.

My goal as a writer has always been to help people get to be better versions of themselves. One can do this using stories that inspire people to be less selfish, more confident, etc.

The second way would be, using research-backed non-fiction writing that will convey information that those who need encouragement or motivation to overcome something like an addiction can use to change. So for me, I won't have a choice but to write both to inspire and also teach people things they need to learn.

I usually write to inform because that's the main objective for most of my writing assignments. However, I have my own personal finance blog where I hope to inspire people to take action on their finances, savings, debts, and other related subjects. It's often easier to write informative ebooks and articles because they're usually research-based and impersonal. It takes a lot to share personal experiences to provide inspiration to others. Inspirational writers usually have to draw from their own experiences to effectively write articles that will stir the readers' emotions.

I write right mostly for clients, so it depends on what they want. Mostly its to inform. most of the writing I do is for blogs that are trying to sell something either through affiliate marketing or through their own ecommerce site. I try to provide their clients with as much information as possible, for them to make a decision of whether to buy. I would say I write to provide information.

I believe that as a writer, you create content to inform and inspire your readers. It will just depend on the kind of topic you create. Some topic can be informative and give helpful information to the readers. Sharing your experience with great lessons is something that can inspire your readers. Sometimes, writers won't notice that his content can be inspiring and informative at the same time.
