Posting on forums you do not agree with

Have you ever posted on a forum that you did not really agree with the niche? I was asked a few years ago to post on a forum that had some very controversial subjects, such as abortion. There were so many people on the forum that were agreeing with the right to have an abortion. However, the subject is very touchy for me as my sister is unable to have children, so abortion for me is not something that I condone. It was very hard for me to remain positive on the site and not unleash on others. But as a freelancer that was struggling at the time, I felt I needed to take the job. I really needed the money at the time. Today, I might not take the job as I really feel a lot about this subject.

Hello Brownie
Have a wonderful day.

Yes. I have posted the forum where I was not agree with the niche. Like Hotel business. Client have a hotel business and have a website and gave me a title, a description, some keywords and specific category and sub category based. By changing some I have searched huge forums and has been collected good forum list and has been posted about hotel business.

Thanks
Centurion

Yes I myself have had to deal with some questionable content over my time as a forum poster. In terms of giving my opinion on controversial topics, there probably isn't a subject out there that I won't give my opinion on. However, that is assuming that I am in an environment where my opinion will be heard and respected. People don't have to agree with me, but if I feel that I will be met with hostility then I will not address the topic.

Yeah, writing on some sites kind of mean that you have to agree with the popular opinion or else, you will be seen as a negative energy on the site. That's not really good and I hope freedom of opinion is guaranteed on some of those sites.

I definitely share the same hopes as yourself. I think freedom of expression is hugely important. Because of this, you probably wouldn't even find me on a website where the community disregards that and doesn't allow you to express your opinions. I like being around people with open minds and views, and are willing to discuss their opinions with others in a civilized manner. If the community isn't capable of that, then I don't think they are really worth my time anyway.

Depends on the situation and how desperately you needed money - assuming of course that you are paid. It also depends on how much you are getting paid for and if it's worth your time. Somehow people would just post on any forums as long as they are getting paid, regardless of what the content is whether they know it or not. They can always search the Internet for that certain topic. If it were me and it's contradicting my belief or opinion, I wouldn't post on those kinds of forums.

Unless the forum OP is talking about was specifically a support forum for people who have undergone abortions or are thinking about undergoing the procedure, I don't see why they wouldn't welcome someone with differing opinions if the idea is to discuss the topic. But I agree with you. Unless the forum is open to discussion of the topic, I wouldn't participate if it directly conflicted with a particular belief I had.

This is really touching. I also work sometimes as a freelancer because of the money and not necessarily as a result of the feelings that I've got for some of those forums and sites.

Was the purpose of the forum not to facilitate discussion on abortion though? There shouldn't be a problem with sharing your views as well on the forum. It's just important to keep in mind that not everyone's opinion will be the same as yours, and that goes for more topics than just abortion. Remaining professional and courteous underneath these circumstances makes the mark of a true professional, I feel.

I would never write on a forum that I don't agree with. Because once you put your information out on the internet it's there forever. The Wayback Time Machine catalogs every single website on the internet. And once it's on there, there is no way to remove it and it will be on the internet forever even after you die.

I don't know if I can stay long in that kind of forum posting, probably not. I do not agree with such thing, so why would I waste my time working on that, right?
It will definitely eat up your time and the ideas to share aren't there.

I don't join or sign up to a forum if I don't agree with the overall subject or topic of it. It's just common sense. This also includes forums where the subject matter simply doesn't interest me or stir up any intrigue within me.

Me too. But if I am interested on a forum and the topic is very new to me, I can take my time to research about the topic so I can be able to make valuable contributions after joining. If the subject matter is not my cup of tea, I would prefer not to join or even dare to read what members write about.

It's always nice to learn new things but, sometimes you run across forums that simply don't agree with your political or life stances on people or social issues. Signing up for those forums is just a wasted motion that serves no purpose whatsoever.

I only Signup on forums which I like and I'm comfortable with. I just don't see the logic on signing up on a forum which you don't like or your not comfortable with, doing that takes the fun out of forums.

I actually enjoy discussions from a point of view different than my own. Speaking to others in an echo chamber serves no purpose. I will qualify that by stating I really do mean "discussion." If the forum or blog does not actually welcome discussion and would like to be the above mentioned "echo chamber" there is no purpose to joining or conversing. I've found myself very disappointed with the quality of the discussion on most forums and blogs. Many people seem to think that repeating their position and making broad, sweeping generalizations without even reading the opposing views is a "discussion." I'm not sure how so many have decided their own opinions with no reasoning or debate provided is of much use to anyone else but I encounter such thinking frequently. It isn't easy to find a real debate or conversation on any topic.

I agree, some forums actually encourage healthy debate and there are certain groups of people who are open-minded and are willing to have a meaningful discussion with you, no matter how controversial the subject is and how strong each one's opinion on the topic is. However, if a forum is too stubborn to allow opposing opinions, there is no use posting there; you'll just get frustrated, and trying to fake your opinions doesn't really go well.
