Great review there, there are still very good site out there writers can earn from but one can create his or her platform on freelancing sites to get good clients that need authentic articles to pay the services. A marketplace like Fiverr is a very good platform to get good jobs and beat the price in one's favor.

Thanks for the information. I got confused when I searched for wanderlust as the first one that came up was a site dedicated for yoga, found out that it was third one of the search results. Have you had any experience submitting work and getting paid by any of the three sites on you list? I was just wondering because wanderlust's and great escape publishing's website seem fun, welcoming and enticing while the one for transitions abroad is simple and bland and kinda warps your first impression of the company.

Thanks also for sharing your information about those on the list. I hope those sites are really legit.

These might be good options, especially if you're traveling. However, I've found that Hubpages offers really easy way to get started with publishing articles online, and it really offers a nice passive income. You'll need to write quite a few articles before you'll start earning a significant amount, but it could be a good investment time-wise. I have 5 articles live right now, and am earning around $1.50 a month passively. Not much, but I also don't put a lot of time into developing articles right now.

That site sounds interesting. Is there any requirement when you sign up? Or anyone can easily sign up on it and start writing? Do they give out topics or are you can write about anything? Sorry for the questions.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

TheArticulate
No requirements, just make an account, link your PayPal and start writing. They don't give you topics, so you can write about whatever you want. However, when you submit your articles, the staff will review them and determine if they should be published, featured, rewritten, or whatever. So keep that in mind!

I'd highly recommend signing up and giving it a shot.

I'm looking at the site now. It seems like a good place to start writing. Does it take a long time for them to review your work? I might start writing one soon, so I'm going to sign up now just in case I think of an interesting topic to write about.

They reviewed my articles within 48 hours. It doesn't take them long at all. You'll start earning more once you hit 5 published articles, because that's usually when you'll have enough content to enable Google Adsense on your articles.

That's great! The site I signed up to takes almost a week to review and they only give 12 hours for a revision. They usually send the notification around 3 AM so of course I'm sleeping soundly and my time for revision is already ticking without me knowing.

I have heard about Hubpages but I haven't tried it. I am still looking for sites where I can write and earn. I'll put this is my list. I also want to try those sites that are recommended by kakashi2020.

Those are great sites! Thank you for sharing. I think I'll go check them out and maybe even try my hand at writing a few articles. Are there more sites you can recommend?

Are these sites available in other countries? I have seen many legitimate paying survey sites before but unfortunately they aren't available in our country. I hope you can send more sites like these. Thanks for sharing.

I've heard of a site called Skyword. I don't know if you have to complete some test to be accepted as a writer on the site but it is something you can easily find out if you sign up.

Anyway, what I read about it which makes me recommend the site is that on lots of writers forums and blogs I see it recommended so since a number of writers seem to like the site, it is worth checking out for those who are interested.

Wow!, Thank you for this. Even if I'm not good in writing but somehow I am interested in this kind of field. I must try to review that one but does it require to take a test before you can be officially earn on that site. This must be interesting to do tho. I will try to convince someone or some of my friends who were interested in writing but I can also try this one.

Well, I believe that most of those sites will want to put you through a test before you are given any work. The reason is to ensure that you deliver great jobs for them as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Alymae
This is expected because this is the standard with these sites. They have to make sure that you deliver great, if not great, then, good content. It is to ensure the quality of written articles.

Barida
It will be nice working on some of those sites, but there is something that I would like to know and that is all about the need for us to pull through this kind of situation as well. Is it meant for only those that travel?

We all travel to some part of the world every now and then. I believe that it's probably something someone could write about when making use of such websites but that's not my point of concern.

What bothers me which I would like to know would be if these websites can be used anywhere in the world. There are some websites that limits its users to UK, US, Canada.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jeane
Most travel writing sites will accept writers from anywhere in the world. However what you need to keep in mind is the competition. Odds are there are a number of professional travel writers who also submit their articles to the site so in order to increase the chances of your articles being accepted, you need to learn how to write travel articles like the pros.

Thank you for sharing some links. I am interested in Transitions Abroad because I am a traveler of sorts. Last year I had been to 7 Asian places although I have no foreign trip for this year. I am excited to write about my travels especially when I had traveled recently that the memory is still fresh and I could remember candidly almost everything. What's enjoyable in writing about my travels is that I will be earning from it.

Seriously, traveling is so much fun when you love going around the world, exploring your favorite places and enjoying other people's culture and ways of life.

I have a plan to travel to Egypt next year just to look at some of their ancient history and traditions. It would be a good thing to earn money online writing about your travel experience.

Wow! These websites are paying a decent amount of money for articles. I don't think that I have ever seen any websites that pays such high amounts of money.

I have a question to ask you about whether the website is limited to specific countries?

Here's another one be a contributor for Alaska Airlines Magazine and get paid between $150-$750.

Here's the info...

Contributor GuidelinesAlaska Beyond Magazine is the monthly in-flight magazine for Alaska Airlines, reaching more than 3.8 million travelers each month in nearly 115 destinations, including Alaska, California, Washington, Oregon, Hawai‘i, Arizona, Nevada, Western Canada and Mexico. Additional cities added in recent years include Chicago, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, St. Louis and San Antonio. Our mission is to inform and entertain a well-educated, sophisticated and affluent audience. We produce a superior magazine with high-quality writing and striking photography. We look for writing with vivid visual images, anecdotes and a strong narrative flow. We are interested in writers who can cover business with insight and style; local writers who can lend inside perspective to our destination and travel columns; journalists who write with a sense of humor, though we do not publish a humor column.Alaska Beyond Magazine is 75 percent freelance written. The best way for writers to get started with the magazine is to send clips of previously published work and a well-written query that includes a sample lead that represents the direction, tone and style proposed for the story. The query should demonstrate advance research and original thought on the part of the writer. The Feed department is the best way to break into Alaska Beyond Magazine. The Feed is a collection of short pieces that range from business personality profiles to new museum exhibits in cities served by Alaska Airlines. Stories might examine business trends and contemporary corporate issues; notable artists or influential community leaders. The emphasis should be on subjects of broad appeal, presented in lively prose.Other departments and columns cover travel destinations, personalities, technology, sports, education, personal investing, architecture and a range of other topics. In most cases, we focus on subjects and sources within the Alaska Airlines route system. We look to localize stories to the West Coast. We are not interested in fiction, poetry or book reviews at this time.Features are on assignment only. We rarely work on spec, and we seldom buy unsolicited manuscripts. If you take your own photographs, please ask for our photography guidelines. We do not assign photo shoots.Writing assignments are acknowledged by written contract. Alaska Beyond Magazinepays within 30 days of publication, buying First North American Rights, with reprint rights. We pay a kill-fee of one-third the contracted price. Rates begin at $150 to $250 for short articles in the Journal section (200 to 600 words); $150 for business shorts (500 words); $500 for columns (1,600 words); and $700 for features (2,000 to 2,500 words). Expenses, if agreed to in advance, are paid on invoice. Expenses and rates vary in special circumstances. We prefer to receive article queries by email; we will not accept pitches over the telephone. I'd never heard of any of those sites before, but wow - Wanderlust pays exceptionally well! I know of travel sites that pay only $5 US for an article of at least 300 words, so 220 pounds for 1000 words sounds amazing to me.

As I search the internet there are many other "get paid to write online websites" that we could try if travelling is one of the passion you pursue. I have not tried this sites before but I'm just giving you a list so that its up to you to explore these sites.
Samples of sites are Transitions Abroad,World Nomads, Go Abroad,I know the Traveler, DesertUSA, Matador Network, etc. If you still need some resources try typing " paid to travel sites" on your Google search engines.

I've never tried any of these, but now I might. Sounds like a great opportunity, and something fun to do. Sadly, I have lately trust issues with many websites and platforms on the internet. Many websites force you to do trial tests, on which you spend a lot of time, and then eventually they wouldn't pay you or reply back.

I prefer to be realistic. Most high-paying writing sites prefer or only accept native English speakers from specific countries so I'm focusing on sites where I can be appreciated and compensated fairly as a writer.

If I find the time to focus on it, I'd like to try writing blog posts for Bitlanders where I can also generate decent side income. If one will just take the time to understand how things work at the site, a writer can earn $2 to $3 daily passive income out of a few lengthy articles. The leaderboard consists mostly of writers from my country and they are actively promoting their content for more buzz points. One can earn points by simply logging in and performing daily tasks like watching 5 videos and reading 5 blogs. You can also earn from your referrals. The earning system is not straightforward though. You can post your first three articles for free but you'll need to buy 10 gems out of your earnings to be able to publish a succeeding article. You can earn extra points by purchasing certain items like a tiara or costume on the site. It means you have to invest part of your existing points to earn more points.

That's an issue that cannot be resolved because it depends on the site owner for their own discrimination of the writers. I once have tried posting on a forum that required native English speakers. Since I am conversant in English so I thought it is best to try. After a while I got a message from the admin that my account will be deleted because my posts are not genuine American English.

This is a very helpful post. Writers are often looking for sites like these so they can earn some money. I do hope they're open to the international community. Most of these sites that pay well are often limited to writers within their national territory. It will be a shame if these ones are limited to their national territories too.

Thanks for the information. Travelling sites are getting really popular. I think its because most people have travelling on their bucket list. The rates look really good. However this always means that they expect the writing to be of a really high standard and they mostly take articles from native speakers. Despite this observation I will try out these sites, you never know this may work out.

Here another good magazine which pays writers for articles.

Vibrant Life - focuses on healthy living with a Christian Perspective. It's a Bi-Monthly Magazine that pays contributors $100-$300 per article.

Here are more writing opportunities.

The War Cry is a publication of the Salvation Army which has been existing for 135 years now. It pays from $0.15-$0.35 per word.

Guideposts, they accept content based on true stories. It must be about people who have achieved something great in their lives. You'll get paid $250 per article and what's good is that you'll get paid once your submission is accepted.

Thanks for the informative sharing. I will keep on following this forum to know more sites where I can earn extra. The sites were great but not suitable for me since I don't travel. However, I find this forum useful and helpful in a lot of ways. Keep the ball rolling.

I return to this topic with news, because I tried to apply on Wanderlust. For some reason, my article hasn't been approved yet. I waited for a few days then decided to write to support, and they didn't reply to me yet as well. How long does it take them to maintain such things?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
They usually reply in two weeks time. What you should do is to find several similar sites and submit your article to all of them. It's a numbers game thing. Sometimes it even takes a month to get an email.
