Ways you can conducts and post your interview.

There are many ways you can hold and post your interview. Whatever way you do it, you'll need to be able to record their responses to your questions obviously (which you'll also have to put together in a list first).

Some ways to conduct your interview

  • By Telephone by just calling them and recording the call.
  • By Whatsapp instant messaging on their mobile device.
  • By Skype instant messaging or even a Skype voice call.
  • By Email by just emailing the questions to them to answer.
  • By scheduling an appointment during office hours or on a lunch break!
  • Recording on a dictaphone or voice recording tool on your phone.
  • Even recording it as a video and conducting a video interview "chat show" style.
Some ways to post your interview include

  • By just text on your blog as an article putting what you asked and what they said.
  • By converting it into a Podcast and posting as a Podcost or even on SoundCloud.
  • Also converting it into a sharable PDF and or slides for SlideShare etc.
  • Making a video out of it (requires taking a video when interviewing them).
And some other ways I am sure! But these are most of the basic things you can do to conduct and then post about your interview after. And you should do at least one of each but the more the better. Interviews are great especially if you can manage to interview someone that is extremely popular or has developed their very own website, forum or blog that is doing well. People will want to read/listen to the interview as they will want to get some tips for themselves from these successful people. I would go for a text based interview format because I think people just like to read things at their own pace. A podcast may not do as well because some people won't have time to listen to the whole thing but with text you can just pick and choose what sections to read.

This is the reason those that owns blogs don't joke with interviews concerning popular figures for they know they can use that to draw traffics to their blogs at the end.

Carrying out interviews to people can be a good way for blogs owners to generate content and it is made better considering the way people do it in a professional way. That's the reason I don't think such move is a bad idea.

We had a business before but that was during the dark times when there was no internet yet. But now, if I have a business then for sure I would have an accompanying blog for that purpose. I can imagine the appreciation of a client if he would be featured in my blog. And most of our clients in our business were companies so that would give my blogs more traffic. Isn’t it like shooting 2 birds at the same time?

A written interview posted can have tremendous positive effect on your site. it greatly boosts your authority in your niche. Visitors and your readers would see this and your trust rating would be boosted more so if the one you interviewed is an authority figure or someone famous.
