How do you manage your time with forum posting?

One thing that I have always enjoyed is the ability to interact with other friends that I have made by being on some forums. I have come to learn a lot from the as well as we tend to share ideas on various topics.

However, I have found it taking some of time that I made for offline duties. So, I need tips on how you manage time with forum posting

The answer is that today, I have not. This site fascinates me and I should be doing other thing, but here I am. My plan was to go to a coffee bar and work on some actual wrting while drinking coffee, but it is lunchtime now.

I think that’s completely normal! I have days like that where sometimes forum posting just doesn’t fit into my schedule depending on other life commitments. Usually I sneak in a few posts here and there even on busy days, but sometimes I’m just too tired or have too many other things happening.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Same! When I am busy I just write a post or two, and when I have time I reach the limit and seek other sites to write on. I don't have time limit and that might be the issue because I am so late for school now!

I agree with you. Better understanding of your priorities help you manage your time. It is a good thing if you can put this on your schedule. But sometimes you really doesn't feel to do it.

I can certainly relate to that, there are really times where we don't feel like writing on forums or make discussions in forums, just a few posts here and there, but sometimes I just feel so motivated that I post a huge amount of posts or comments or discussions.

I would attend first to all my routines. I would finish everything first in our home. After it I can now post in forum sites.

Time management is a great thing to do. Our time is valuable. Time is one of God's greatest gift to us. All of us has the same time whether rich or poor. We all have the same seconds, minutes and hours.

I agree with you. Time is equal for all of us. We experience being pressured because of time. We also experienced being annoyed because of time. Time is a common thing and most constant.

I also find myself on this site while I should be doing other writings. Since I have realized so, I will try and come up with a schedule when I can post to avoid time wastage.

These things just happen. We have too muchbon our hands. I love this daily posting sites. You can plan for them.

For me, I have my time on the day on when I can write stuff so that I can finish it as soon as possible.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I managed my time by typing as fast as I can to finish the writing stuff online and at the same time, I can earn money.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

menchuuy58
I agree with you. I also do it. I also right as fast as I can. The faster I do, the faster I finish also.

Being able to type quickly is definitely a bonus when it comes to forum posting or other typed work. Accuracy as well as speed is highly important too. I’d be curious to know how fast some of you can type!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

theresajane
I actually give myself 1 hour everyday for forum posting. Actually, it's not enough for me, but I always make sure that I read and type as fast as I can so I can go to other threads. It's hard to manage your time especially when your too drawn to this and you just want to be away from your daily tasks and other jobs.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It’s good to dedicate a set amount of time if you have the ability to! I find that if I set myself a timed goal, I work harder and with more of a laser focus!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Wow, that is fast. It usually takes me 90-120 minutes.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I guess part of it depends on how many forums you're a member of and how quickly you can type. I can usually get through mine quickly if I'm at my laptop because my computer is easy to type on. If I'm working from my phone, however, I'm not so fast since I make more errors typing on my small phone keyboard!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

emiaj55
You are even faster than I am. My average time in forums sums up to 3 hours a day. I really need to learn to type faster. My internet connection is kinda slow as well.

The beauty of forum posting is that you can write and post any time, usually within a 24 hour time period. So I can write and post when I'm free or whenever I like to post. Unlike other online jobs and opportunities, which have a set timeframe for the writer to accomplish it.

Setting the time when to be on forums and offline duty is very important. This is one aspect that we need to have power on. My timings really go with evenings and early morning to comment on forums

I don't have a planned schedule for posting but I usually do it at night. There are a lot going on during the day so I don't have time to check the sites and comment.

I have this habit of setting up my alarm every two hours interval. This helps me to be always drawn back to continue with my work on forum posting if I have taken too much time off and gotten carried away.

Sometimes I might still be working and the alarm would ring and I will just smile knowing it's reminding me to get back to work.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I just do a little bit here and there. I do a few posts when I’m having my morning coffee - I like checking what’s been happening overnight on my forum sites. I also often check my sites and do a few posts before I go to bed.

Forum posting isn’t stressful for me, it’s something I enjoy - so I just do what I can, where I can.

I am a full time employee but I still have my forum posting everyday, whenever I cannot attend my forum sites in day time I just mainly work on it at night time since I am already done with my offline job. I used to recover those lost hours in working online, sometimes hard work and patience is the only key for us to be motivated to manage our forum postings sites everyday despite that we are having a busy schedule for our offline work.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
One needs to be persistent when we are talking about combining offline duties with online works as you can see that it is something that is not always easy for us to achieve no matter how we take a look at it as well.

Same thoughts. I also love to interact with other people on Forum sites because of how I can exchange opinions with them/you and be able to learn as well. And yes, I also have the same problem with time management. However, I am recently trying to start having a designated schedule for my forum posting/chatting and I set that schedule between 9:30 PM to 12 AM everyday. It's definitely a short time but I guess it's much better than being unproductive all day.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I always say "something is better than nothing", and even if I don't have enough time to get all the tasks done on my to-do list, even accomplishing a few things helps me to feel productive. If I set myself too many tasks I end up getting frustrated and overwhelmed if I can't do them all, so sometimes just doing as much as you can in an allocated time period is the best approach.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
Same and you're right, listing the things that you know you could definitely finish is much better than listing all of the things that you must do in one go because it is definitely frustrating to know that you are still undone with so many things. That is actually a bad habit of mine especially with my school tasks because I always tend to forget almost all the time and so I list them all in one go, however, I always end up not finishing anything because I get easily tired just by knowing how much work I need to do.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jeane
When planning your day, always start with the most difficult tasks or the high priority tasks that must be completed. With those out of the way, finishing everything else on your list will be relatively easier.

p.s By the way, sticking to a schedule is a habit that can be acquired. It can be hard at first but it gets easier.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
Thanks for the advice Ma'am Jeane. I will definitely start doing that especially that I will be starting my OJT tomorrow. I haven't thought about this before and I am really the type of person who prefers to do the easy tasks before the complicated ones, and that I guess hindered my productivity. And, hopefully I'll be able to acquire a habit of sticking to a schedule because I'm really bad with managing my time (although it's getting a bit better, but still). Thanks again Ma'am Jeane.

We all have our own priority and commitments in our everyday life that needs to be taken care of. We should never prioritize the less important things or else everything will be a mess. Forum posting is exciting however, it is not our priority. Maybe we should spend an hour or more everyday depends on your convinience. Forum posting are not always the same everyday because sometimes your in a mood, sometimes your not.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
There are always important stuffs to take care of first, so if one's forum posting should be more important, it should come first but if it's not that serious, then you can do other things before going to your forum posting.

I agree with you, there times that I wake up and wonder if there's another new interesting discussion where I can learn a lot.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

List down your priorities and make a daily schedule. It really depends on your activities, I mean if you have a 9-5 job then you can post afterwards. For freelancers like me, I do my forum postings anytime I feel like doing it, and that's what I like about forum posting, there's no time pressure.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Making a schedule and sticking with it is the best way to deal with your forum posting. If you stick to your day's schedules, you can definitely meet up every posting you need to do.

Meeting up forum posting is even harder when there are lots of forums to post on. Now, it's just few forums you see lately, so meeting up is very easy.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree it's all about the things you want to do and the things you need to do. So I guess it's Wants vs Needs. Sometimes I do my wants first, that's when I feel I'm getting burnt by my needs.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

allyn2017
I agree with you, it is easy to follow if you make a schedule.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I am also a freelance and there is no time pressure, but I have found myself doing the posting or reading various blogs when I am supposed to be writing.
I will borrow that strategy of listing my priorities and making a daily schedule. Sounds to be an effective way.

When I worked full time at an office, I often did forum posts and online surveys in my lunch break. I find them to be a good way to unwind, and when I have an hour long lunch break I don't need all that time to eat!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Managing my life activities with my forum posting is not easy but I always try to get everything done without leaving anything unturned.

I just map out my priorities like in a scale of preference and I try as much as possible to meet up.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

allyn2017
That's really great strategy. Easy to follow since it is already map out.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I like mapping out ideas like that too. If I put the critical items at the top, and anything else lower down the priority scale, it helps me focus on what's urgent. If I can attend to the non-critical items too that's always nice, but prioritizing the most important things takes some of the stress away.

I am a part time freelancer because I have a full time job in the office so it is understandable that I only go to forums during my spare time. But there are days that I couldn't go to forums especially when I am on vacation or I attended a gathering because I don't have the habit of using my phone or tablet when I am in the company of people. But I admit that sometimes I sacrifice the time for my family in doing my freelancing work.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you, sometimes I just skip posting when I am around my family or there's a family gathering because I don't want to be rude and use the phone in front of them.

I like to mix what I'm doing, so I'll post for an hour or two then stop and do my other work and when I'm tired of my work, I go back and do some forum posting, which is a lot of fun for me.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

allyn2017
that's a really good strategy, I might do the same thing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I do forum posting right after my kids are gone for school. Before I do all my work, I start my day with forum posting because it is the easiest and fastest to finish. There are days that I cannot really fit in my schedule sitting in front of my laptop to post. What I do is take advantage of my smartphone whenever I have time to sit while waiting for something.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

nrnlss
that is really a great strategy, sometimes I miss a day or two because I can squeeze it with my schedule.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

allyn2017
We do the same thing, it is not easy to fit this forum posting but if you want to fit it, you will find a way.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
That's one of the reasons I love forum posting - because it's fun and easy to do when you're waiting for something. I used to get super frustrated if I was in a waiting room for an appointment for a while, but now that I can optimize my time there it doesn't bother me so much.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mdayrit
Yes. It really helps in keeping you entertained and busy while waiting. It can be really annoying if you are just sitting there doing nothing. The interaction inside the forum makes the waiting time feel shorter.

I post in thw forums if I don't have things to do.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you to an extent that our posting should also happen when we don't really have any much thing to do. This is something that is necessary for us to balance our online activities with what we do offline.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

allyn2017
I usually post here before I go to work, it is hard to squeeze it to my schedule but I love it here.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think that working every morning is something that I would do as well since it is something that is nice and okay to do. What I believe that should be done is for us to plan the day better in the way that it is going to fit us as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I really enjoy posting on here too! There are a number of people that I like to engage with on here and I'm always happy when I see new topics to respond to. It's a good way to start my day over a cup of coffee.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jeane
Plan your day and you will find it easier to manage your time. When you get up, take fifteen minutes to do this. This way you'll have time alloted for everything you intend to do that day.It won't feel like you don't have time to do something you know needs to be done. Anyway since most people don't work at night, that would be the best time to be online.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
I will also prefer to work during the night, but I think that the thing that I should do is for us to focus on doing something that works fine for us. Doing my work at night is something that can be frustrating since network can be a big issue to me as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I've read a lot of books about successful people and the common denominator with most of them is that they do exactly what you said - plan out their day so that they can truly get as much out of their 24 hours as possible. Sometimes I think we all feel like we don't have enough hours in the day, but sometimes it's just about planning our hours right.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaymish3
With forum posting you need to be super organized. You need to do it all at once or you need to divide it into bits. You also need to learn to type quite fast so that you can manage your time more efficiently. You can do it in the morning, at lunch time and in the evening. It needs to be on your schedule and you need to plan for it. Personally I prefer to do it all at once in the mornings and get it done, so that I can think about doing other things.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I definitely think that forum posting has helped the speed of my typing immensely. It's like it forced me to learn how to quickly express myself so that I could do several posts in a small space of time. If I only have a small window in the morning or evening to get my posts done then I've really got to optimize that - and typing fast is one way to do it!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

astraherondale
Like with other tasks, the best way to be efficient is to limit the time you spend on the site every day. Setting limitations are important because you have to always be in control of your own time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have my time on the day where I can start posting stuff online, and I limit time to 1hour to finish everything.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I do everything I have to do before posting in forums. I prioritize doing other things that needs more attention. Posting in forums is my past time and I do it for leisure. Sometimes, if I need a break in things I need my attention, I stick into posting in forums first then go back to other things later. There are also times that I lose time for sleep just to have for this activity.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
Posting on forums during leisure time is always better as you get to feel less pressure doing so. This is one of the ways that you can get to learn one or two things as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think that the best solution for your problem would be to assign a fixed amount of time every day for your online activities including Forum postings. I usually try to follow a fixed timing and schedule for my online activities. After I complete the time dedicated to it, I usually try to stop my work and then concentrate on doing other things that are also very important to me. On weekends I increase the timing due to the free time available with me to do more work online.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
I think it is always easier for me during the weekends to organize my time for forum posting. The struggle has always been how to do it when it is not working for me during the week and I think that planning it well can go a long way in that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
It depends on the kind of work I'm doing. As a freelancer, I sometimes get a lot of tasks, when this happens I work 18 hour a day. I do my best to divide my time to the various tasks I need to finish including forum posting.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
That's great. I am working offline at a school where I teach and it has always not being easy for me to balance things easily when we talk of getting the actual time. I just try to work where it is necessary for me to do so.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I work from home that is why making posts is not that hard. I always make sure to do first all the household chores and another online job. After that, I will start to make posts. Sometimes, I will try to do this in the afternoon for one hour and then start again in the evening.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
I don't put presure on myself while posting on forums. I always look at ways that I can make things work which may include posting while I am a bit free to do so as well. It is all about trying to find a balance in all that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

You have a great point. Forum posting should not be stressful. It loses the fun and the natural order of exchanging ideas among users.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Before I thought that forum posting is something that I could do in just one sitting, while taking a break or a quick type before I go to sleep. But lately, I realized that it is not the case. Since I enjoy the topics, and the accumulation of knowledge as writers post their experiences I found that one sitting is not enough. Now I allot At least an hour or two every day for forums.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
This so the same way that I work. I always see posting on forums as one of the ways that I can learn new things and for that reason, I hate always taken time to learn at least one new thing everyday.

I treat forum posting as a hobby and in some way a task as well. I stick to a schedule to make them (not religiously), usually during times that I feel like I'll be idle though the time varies every once in a while.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It has become a hobby for me as well. I always feel sad when I am unable to work on the sites as I always see logging in as one of the ways that I can get to feel nice and great as well which is pretty okay for me.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That sounds great, and I just want to say you write so good. I just want to put it out there. How I wish I can also construct sentences and thoughts the same manner you do.

Well I sign in almost every day to each of the forums or sites where I can earn money. Some of the sites are on a clock and the clock resets at a certain time. Whereas some of the other sites, once you sign in, you can stay signed in until you sign in. I usually go to the sites that are on the clock so I can do my work there before the clock resets. After that I go to the other sites. If the sites have a posting limit, I complete the limit. Wake up the next day and do it again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
Such a good plan! I think that the sites having a time that they reset is something which is pretty cool as well. This is one way that you are able to know how you can plan your ways for the day.

That's easy. If you post enough anywhere at some point you'll need a break. Then when you return again you'll enjoy it more because the conversations and discussions feel fresh and new again. So you don't really need to manage your time, sometimes it'll all work itself out organically.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
This singular attitude of taking a break always make me feel like I am being weak, but I think that it is always nice for me to stay off for some time and work things out at the end of the day when I wish to.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

@Barida Has nothing to do with weakness. Everyone gets or comes down with fatigue. Even when it comes to their favorite things. Favorite people, food, locations or music. There are plenty of people who've been to France so many times they don't intend to return for many years. While others, haven't been that much or ever, and want to go really badly. That's the difference between refreshing yourself from a familiar experience, versus people who are not all that familiar with a certain experience.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
And you make a good point by saying that forum posting also lets you interact with like-minded individuals. I like that aspect of it. Being a member of a forum about a particular niche that you are passionate about somehow allows you to network yourself with people who possibly can be your business partners in the future too.

I make it a point to read all my forums group to be visited every night before I sleep. Some times I do it the morning I wake up. And some time I really don't have the time. Just when I have free time I get that chance for my forum posting.

I also like you too, doing posting in forum when im free from the main duties. It is ok to be like this, youve already manage your time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It is essential that you create some free time for forum posting as that is the only way that you are going to create a balance between your offline duties and your aim as a freelancer.

You just have to make a schedule or a time limit for you to finish a task. I know that it is very tempting to post and post all day long because somehow it's kind of addicting and entertaining for you but you need to set your mind that there are still other things to be done aside from this. I am also thinking of this because I want to make the most of my time. Sometimes I feel like I can do this and that faster than what I should be doing. But I think you'll get the hang of it once you've made it a habit.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Making use of a nice schedule will definitely make things work pretty fine. This is something that I always look at when we are talking about creating time for forum posting. One has got to focus on doing things that work better for them.

I enjoy forum posting but it's not something that I do regularly because I need to focus on my main freelancing activities. I usually participate in forums during lulls in my primary earning sites and this strategy has worked well for me. I agree that it can be addicting and that's probably why I haven't given it up. I would hate to take the pleasure out of forum writing by forcing myself to follow a rigid schedule.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

First of all, it is nice that you find ways to manage the ways that you post as this is one way for you to improve with time. I would like to know some of the main sites where you work on as well.

How do you manage your time with forum posting: I love to interact with people specially I am a home person now because i am caring a blessing of our family. I can easily get tired so i prefer to stay at home that continue going to work.So for now i can go to this forum postimg after I did my work loads here in our home like helping cleaning, cooking and do some stuffs with the family if they are also free.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It is not always easy for one to fix things with cooking, and doing some other chores at home while trying to get in line with forum posting. While it is tiring, I believe that getting to read some posts and commenting help me learn more about the things of life as well.

The only tip I can give you is to manage your time wisely. I usually do my forum postings and interactions online at night when all the tasks I need to do for the day are all done. Doing everything you need to do during mornings or afternoons and focusing on them will yield better results, and if you can finish everything faster then you can start mingling online earlier. Think of it as your reward after a long busy day of doing your work.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Doing it every morning and becoming consistent with it is one sure way that we can keep pushing it and getting a better result. One thing that I know about that is the need for us to get it right when these kind of things is being put into perspective as well.

I am a college student, and I tend to have problems with balancing my time schedules. What I usually do is that, I'll go to school in the morning and dive into forum posting at night. Sometimes I find it hard to balance my time as there are also things that I have to comply with. But I am still lucky to still have time to spare for forum posting.

As far as I love sharing ideas and hearing other ideas from a forum. I always log off after an hour for other chores. I really love knowing new ideas but I think I should always take my mind out it tine after time. I not only helps me relax and clear my mind but it also help me think of new ideas.

You just have to manage your time wisely. As much as possible, do not waste your time on unnecessary things. If you think you don't have enough time, probably lessen your time spent on leisure and spend more of your time on productive things. Like me, I love watching videos on youtube because I feel relaxed when I watch videos of my interest but I am trying to discipline myself now. Instead of watching videos, I spend my time to be a more productive person. But I still watch if I have a real spare time or if it's time to give myself a break.

In my case I post in forum sites when I feel motivated to do so, sometimes I just don't feel it by I do it anyways which results to poor results. So listen to my body my mood and if I feel like it I do it, I don't really do it every time.
