Are fake news degradation to true writers?

News Satire sites have been around for a long time. Though what they publish technically is fake news, in reality it isn't. The content published on these sites is mostly for entertainment. I respect the writers who create this content a lot.

The group I don't like is the one which creates fake news that is whose sole intent is drawing in traffic (to their sites). People can make life-altering decisions based on information which is false. It is something one should think about before they post or share fake news. What you do or write or share could cause someone else to suffer.

Yes indeed. That's why I'm glad, for example, for sites that share health news that they add an ADVISORY statement telling visitors that the information is general and to seek professional medical advice for specific health issues. That's what is frightening me these days. There are some sites out there intentionally spreading misleading health information.

Actually, some of the news satire reports I kind of like. They make me find the humor in a serious matter and then analyze it differently. At first, you go: That's funny! You laugh but then your next thought is: Hey wait a minute! That makes sense!

Fake News became a hot topic due to the emergence of social media. Anyone can post anything and this led to the degradation of legitimate writers who are using social media platforms. It seems that for every 10 fake news there's only 1 legitimate and verifiable news. I think social media platforms should take down fake news sites.

Many fake news are rampant in social media nowadays. We must be careful from what we believing for because at the end of the day we are the who is directly affecting of the fake news.

Fake is bad. It is not true. It is not the real one.

I agree with you. That's what I also think. Fake news has nothing to do with true writers.

As a writer, you are responsible to provide reliable and only true information to the readers. Spreading fake news will not just only affect the writer's credibility but you will lose readers' trust and interest to read your article. If you want to create a story, make sure that you are at the right site or company that is responsible to make a fantasy or fiction. And if you are not sure about the information you provide, you can just simply disclaim it and provide some resources where you get news.

I think writing has been my interest since I was studying. Although I never tried to join any writing competition or some activity, I still had the interest to write. I remember that every time I read a good article, I would always say that I also want to write and express my opinions in my own way. I like to read some content that has the amazing construction of sentences. I believe that I was not born to be a writer but my strong interest helped me develop my writing skills.

This is a sad story about a blogger who has the penchant of writing about fake news. One such fake news was her blog about the US not requiring a visa for Filipinos. You can imagine the people who got disappointed when they learned that the news was fake courtesy of that woman blogger. Unfortunately for us, that woman blogger was appointed by our country's president to the press department. Isn't that a great insult to us?

Stereotyping is a common trait of the masses. Fake news is definitely a shame for the body of writers as a whole. I feel that those who consciously write fake news do so just to earn lots. From where I come, politics play big roles in telecommunication and television companies . You could hardly get real news. It is hard to think of a way to stop this. Fake news is as old as those companies. The only thing to do is to weigh things an compare the news from reality.

Fake news will definitely affect how readers believe the content that they are reading. I'm not really sure if the spread of fake news is happening in other countries but in the Philippines, it is very rampant in social media. Example of fake news that I've encountered are as follows:

The most common fake news that you'll see is how an actor or actress died but the truth is that the person is still very much alive.
A huge storm or earthquake is going to hit certain parts of the country and people are warned to prepare when in fact, there are no records of it from the Weather Agency.
Even school cancellations and declaration of holidays, you would see announcements that are either not true or was announced last year but being circulated again to confuse the public.

This is why it is also important that we choose a credible source of news.

Not really. The one lose credibility is the one who released the news. I don't think that every writer gets degraded just because a single writer released fake news. It is only the firm, the organization, or the institution that the writer belongs to.

Not as bad for writers as it is for the general public. Writers are going to get paid to create rich, good and original content regardless. But for the general public, some of which are not too bright - they're being tricked into believing some of these outlandish headlines.

Fake news really, really bugs me. When I was growing up I really wanted to be a newspaper journalist, because I wanted to be able to report on events to people. I think journalists have a responsibility to tell the truth, and it's sad that some of them just want sensationalist headlines and drama rather than correct, factual reporting.

I guess it's the way of the world we live in these days, but I think that we have to remember that so much of what we consume in the media these days may not be 100% correct.

Why have people suddenly convinced themselves that “fake news is rampant” everywhere? There are people who print or speak lies and there are people who print or speak fair, balanced, objective, accurate and true reports. In most cases, both the truth teller and the liar are very good writers and/or very good at expressing themselves verbally. They are extremely persuasive and convincing.

But lies and reports that are “fake” never stand up to the light. Whereas the truth stands on its own. It's always been that way.

People have always had to figure out for themselves, which is which.

Fake or false reports have always a part of the fabric of our lives and so has the truth. It's always been that way.

It's pointless to point the finger at social media which was never set up to be a news reporting agency. Social media is no different from the television or the radio or the newspaper. It's just a "vehicle" we can use to access news reports.

Don't we all have a mind of our own? Is it expecting too much for a person to be able to think for themselves and to discern the difference between right and wrong? Only a fool follows blindly anything and everything that they're told.

Of course, there's a lot of garbage and trash talk being put out there for the public to consume. But not everything reported is garbage and trash talk. At least, it hasn't got to that point yet in America. Though there may be some who want to think that.

Precisely. If you just take the time to check the sources of an article or to even fact check the information provided, you can come to a conclusion of your own. I think there's also a problem with people mixing up the ideas of "biased news" and "fake news". The two are not interchangeable, and never have been, which I think is misleading a lot of people here into making hasty assumptions.

In Texas, I often hear follow up news reports on the radio. They're called “Fact Checks” and they measure statements made by public figures on a truth-o-meter or something like that. They take a statement that was boldly declared and then they do research to figure out if there is any other information and evidence to back up what was said. Sometimes they uncover quite a bit of untruth that way. They didn't have to gain access to top secret classified information to figure out if a statement was wholly inaccurate or just plain old false! I say, if others could dig up the truth and verify a statement, probably anybody can.

Writers who created fake news, they do it for a personal reason. They may be paid a big amount in equivalent of dragging their names in trash. They hide their real identity because they were protecting themselves or being shameful to what they do. Nowadays it is hard to believe to what is real and fake news. We must do our own research like read or watch in a credible and reliable magazine or station.

They do it mostly for fame. Fake news helps their blog rise through the search results. Traffic, profits from ads, etc. it all gets a boost from fake headlines. Look at the National Enquirer and other sites. Gossip sells, fake or not.

In a certain group of people, there will always be someone who will try to ruin the group. Fake news nowadays are almost everywhere and many people tend to believe this news because the person who created the news might seem to be believable. I cannot call those fake news makers as writers as they are making writing lose its own essence which is to deliver quality and honest content to people.

I can still consider them as writing but these writers are not being true to their selves. As of this day where technology is very advance, a person has the ability to write everything that he/she sees. The only thing that matters is whose who telling the truth? And those who are writing fake news are helping the people to find the real problem and how to stop/prevent the problem to get worst. These writers are just toying the innocent people. And they have to stop doing it.

Fake news these days are really a big issue and a problem in the entire world, it must be given an adequate solution for it to be stop from circulating anymore. I think that our law makers should make a law in which punishing those people who are circulating fake news which is sometimes very unfair. It would be a good deterrent to refrain people for doing such unlawful acts or wrong doings.

Yes, it does. I myself am very wearying of what I read on the internet now. I take everything with a grain of salt. Though most of the news I read don't really matter in my life so I have no use in complaining or even fact checking them on my own time. It's just not worth it.

Of course it is. Fake news is something to be done with where we should get rid of those writers who do not deserve to write such stuff. Being able to write fake news would cause confusion and dislike to believing what is true and what is real. I do not support those who do these kinds of news because it puts a bad name to all of the writers out there. Some people would start to think and reconsider some writers just because of this.

Heres the deal, if your really a true writer then you dont need to worry. Why? Because if your writting facts only then you have a "supporting documents" like pictures or its better if video, and really depends of how you deliberate your story facts.
