How do you earn from Press Releases?

Earning thru Press Releasesis not what it used to be.  In the past I would be invited as a blogger to press conferences of brands, movies and record launchings, even by politicians.  I would then get a token for my attendance and I would then write and post a press release on my site. WhIle in some occassions they would send or give me a press release and all I have to do is to post it.  Nowadays it's attending the press conference, getting the press release, posting it and making an email request with links to the posted press release or screen shot photos to get my token.

I had also experienced one time to be invited in an event as a blogger. It was nice to feel that I was part of the media who will cover the event. I got paid and it was big money not to mention the giveaway items from the advertisers. If you are a popular blogger then I guess you can make press releases a livelihood because you will be getting invitations from time to time for an event that is related to the niche of your blog.

That's right, sometimes I get a lot of invitations and in some weeks I get none. So I think of it as a seasonal thing. And multinational corporations are the ones giving the best tokens inclusive of money, gifts and food.

I've never gone down this route either myself. Well, one of my jobs involves managing the social media for an organization and often I post about their events, but not in "press release" format as such. It's an interesting option to try and earn from, for sure.

This must be a good job that you have at hand. I am looking at getting employed by some organizations to be doing this kind of job for them. This is one of the ways that one can get to earn some funds at the end of the day.

It is an enjoyable job but it’s only 25 hours per month so I have to supplement it with other options. I also don’t get paid all that much for it per hour unfortunately! It is a job I enjoy though so that’s a nice perk.

Someday press releases wouldn't be that popular. What celebrities would do to get press people to write about them is sending them an email and then paying them. I'm sure that's what's happening now. Public press releases are only for formality. To answer the question as to how to earn from them, seriously, I don't know.

You just gave me a great idea on one more way to earn some extra bucks. This part of making money is not quite hot here. I will try and be the one who makes it so. Does not seem like it will be easy, but I'll take the challenge and see how it goes.

It starts by creating a blogsite and becoming a blogger. If you want to make headway use YouTube as your platform and be a vlogger food reviewer / critique. Get a lot of subscribers and do your pitches to all the restaurants.

It's nice to know that you have come that far in your field of career. You have a good rewards for everything you do. It's a good motivation to work harder and enjoy the work you love to do. I haven't experience that since I am not a blogger or a writer. It's nice to know the possible means of earning.

I have no experience with this personally, but I do know someone who has. I'm not sure if he sells off the items he gets from those press releases or what. I have seen him do a give away once. This does sound interesting and fun to do.

I think that this is not a good way to earn anymore. Social media is making the press sort of irrelevant. The only way to earn from your press release in my humble opinion is indirectly. E.g because of the press release you may get more visitors to your site and because of this you may able to get some to buy your products(assuming you have some) or to click on any affiliate links you may have on your website.

Press releases have been rather overshadowed by social media. That tends to be the way that most companies get the word out about events that have happened or are upcoming. I think social media management is a really growing industry and if you can get a freelance gig doing that it can be lucrative.

I haven't tried that path before. I also believe that competition in that area is very tight. You need to be an excellent writer with good vocabulary to become one of the most outstanding in that field. It was hard task but truly rewarding.

That’s often one of the biggest hurdles to overcome - the competition from others in the field. It’s a good incentive for me though to constantly be trying to improve my skills!

I never heard of this one yet, only now but base on your description, I think this is a good opportunity and platform for those who are interested in blogging. This will help a lot of bloggers and writers. I think you will really have to work hard for this as this site has a competitive phase.

I have always wondered how this kind of stuff works. I guess for you to be invited and considered in the first place, you should already have built up your views, subscriber count and other metric that they need as proof that you can influence many people. How did you go about landing your first ever press release gig? Did you seek an invite like contacting prospective clients or did they contact you first?

I haven't have any experience with this as well but from what I see and heard from my friends is you earn by simply getting your name out there. People and contractors will come to you and will ask about the things you have written. If you are able to sign at least 3 people or even 2 people you are bound to get a good amount of money.

What's good with press releases and press release events is you'll get to meet a lot of writers and bloggers and if your sociable enough they might even invite you to join their network.

Being able to network with others in the same field is always helpful. Building those connections often leads to more work, so I’m always open to connecting with people!
