Most profitable freelancing job?

Hi there!

With the rise of the freelancing job popularity, have you given any thought about which freelancing job is the most profitable one?

Personally, I've been doing a lot of data entry, not to mention article writing, translation and transcription. So far, I have noticed that trasncription brings the most profit for me, but it's also very time consuming and hard.

I am also looking for some freelancing jobs where I could spare some of my free time aside from having a full time job but I am only using my phone and I don't have much time or access through my laptop. I also have seen some some transcription jobs or surveys that could also pays good but they are more likely require the use of laptop or desktop. I only have access to my phone and I use it most of the time of the day.

There are surveys sites you can still access with just your phone like toluna, yougov, citizenme etc. You don't need a laptop for these but you should have a verified PayPal for some to get paid.

I'd suggest you to open a YouTube channel and upload something you're good at. But make sure to analyze the market properly prior to that. I used to upload gaming, even though it's popular I barely managed to accumulate views. So I had to change the main subject of my channel to politics.

With survey sites I really cannot offer concrete advice as per the experience that I have had. There are numerous survey sites out there who promise to pay but do not.

I have tried survey sites just to see if they would really pay up. So far, I have had positive experiences from two sites. The one I can recommend would be GlobalTestMarket. You have to treat survey sites as just an gig that you do only if you have free time on hand, prioritize other work that you have because the amount of surveys that will be given to you will vary, it can sometimes go two days without receiving one.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Alymae
True. In my opinion, survey sites are not worth it. I experienced a lot of them. The time you have to give is more than the money they will pay you. There are also times that they will ask you to do a survey, then, say that you are not qualified while you are answering. Frustrating! If you ever managed to reach a payout, they you a few weeks later. You actually forgot about it.

Yes it takes time to earn money from survey sites. There some times that they will screen you out and it annoying actually.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JBeleren
I only take them on my phone while I am on my commute or when I am waiting in line. It passes the time and eventually earns you money down the line. It is definitely not something that you can rely on for consistent extra cash. It is more like something you do in a background and be surprised that you have already earned enough to redeem or turn into cash.

Survey sites are good only when being done during spare time and the payment rate are too low so making this your primary source of income is not a good idea. However, if done during your spare time and if you're disciplined enough not to withdraw your earnings. It will accumulate over time and become substantial enough to buy you a nice pair of shoes.

I found most of these survey websites to be scams, rather than something profitable. Usually I register there and end up having 3 to none surveys permanently. Can you suggest a good survey website? I'd like to check it out.

The most profitable and highest paid freelancing job is programming. Programmers are paid higher because people who know how to code very well are hard to come by.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Jelineex
Yes, it's one of the best job on earth. There are lots of programmer but not everyone are good at it. Programming is difficult and not everything works properly as what you expect it to be. It needs a lot of modification before it becomes usable. It takes a lot of time to come up with a perfect software that fully functions. This is probably the reason why mostly of the programmers lose their hair. They're over stress. Just kidding! ^_^

You're right my cousin that introduced me to online jobs is a programmer and he does this full time and he is making so much money from it. Programmers are really needed on freelancing sites and they are paid well too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
I envy your cousin a lot LOL. How long has he been doing it? I'm sure he's good as you mentioned he's making tons of money from it. Is he paid per hour or per project?

I agree but how about people who doesn't have a technical skill set? I've seen people on Fiverr doing unique gigs and it only takes them like a few minutes to do 1 gig. Like seriously a gig I saw was just them speaking normally on the mic and that's an easy $5 for them. A dozen gigs a day is a good enough pay compared to learning a new skill.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
You're right. I saw one also that asks for $5 to sing you a birthday song while hanging upside down. Though these gigs may sound great at first, still it doesn't compare in regards to earning potential if you have technical skills such as programming, graphic design or digital marketing.

Yeah, but programming is hard (myself an expert in Notepad programming and Visual C++ (2008/12). Most people prefer something simple, like data entry. The most immediate problem is the fact that it's hard to find a decent company that pays for such, as they are extremely rare. For example there's a job paying you to fill out captchas. But you make 0.30 cents an hour, and that's an offensive joke.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
I agree with you that it's much better to have a simple data entry task compared to writing code. However, the odds of landing a job in that field is tough as you'll be up against a lot of people. It's still best to have a technical skill set. Pays higher too.

I guess I can agree with you? Programming really pays big. I have a friend who received 300,000 php for a program he made. But you have to be really good at this to make a name. There are lots of programmers but only a few of them is good.

I know someone who gets paid well from her programming skills. Her client pays her as high as $5,800 monthly and it's just wow and her husband too. She become a regular employee to her client and that's what made her become rich.

I agree, transcription is very easy to earn some money compared to data entry or in to writing. Virtual assistant can be one of those that can generate money easily I guess.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Transcription is also one better option for good earning especially the medical transcription job. It will be of great advantage if you have fast speed in typing and good listening skills. It is sometimes difficult to type words especially with accented video. It's a very exhausting job but it depends on a person. Others, are good at it.

I'm a newbie online and I'm trying to find a skill that I can be skilled in it. Good paying jobs are typing,SEO experts, programming, article writing etc. I'm trying to learn from tutorials on YouTube on how to be perfect with either article writing or tutoring.

Programming can pay pretty fine as long as we are ready to keep working for it. This is because it is the type of work that you have to put more than a hundred percent to achieve success.

There is a lot of freelancing job out there that would pay you a good amount of money but you should have a certain skill to offer like programming, graphic designing and many more. My suggestion is if you have a skill that you can monetize look for a great freelancing website and start taking freelancing jobs.

I think that once you get used to transcription you are good to go. The problem is that on most of the sites, you can get kicked off very fast they give you very little time to learn. I think that the most profitable is writing. However like with all freelancing it takes a while to get used to and learn.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Actually, transcription jobs are some kind of sensitive jobs. You can't mess up one's work all in the name of learning on the job and expect to still get paid and be still allowed to work on the site to have the opportunity to ruin another person's work?

This is actually the reason why freelancer aren't given much time to learn on the job with transcription.

I agree. Transcriptions is really hard deal with. It requires a lot of time and adjustments with different accents. One mistakes can affect the whole process. That is why it has a lot of rules to follow with.

I think Virtual Assistants earn a lot. I'm not sure because I haven't tried yet but the offers look really good for a VA. Someone mentioned transcription jobs, I have to disagree with that. They don't really pay much per audio minute. Plus it's really hard to listen to the audios, and you can spend a lot of time transcribing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

JBeleren
Virtual assistants are paid pretty well, I have a friend who is earning more than what she was getting on her previous office job.
I agree that transcription jobs don't pay well for the amount of time and effort you are exerting on one audio file. I have tried doing it for a week or two before moving on.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

knnon
If the pay was at least decent enough for a transcription job I wouldn't mind exerting all that effort and time on it. I think there's a lot of companies looking to hire VA's from all over. There's even Facebook groups and pages for hiring. The companies post their hiring on there and you can apply directly.

There are so many profitable freelancing jobs everywhere. However, when it comes to the most profitable freelancing job, the answer must depends on your ability and capacity. There maybe a high paying freelancing job offer but if you don't have the skills or talent then its useless. You must focus on your strength and capacity and that would be the most profitable freelancing job for you.

Skills is almost everything when we are talking about freelancing job. One thing that I have noticed about it is that you will always have to improve when you are pushing to earn higher.

The most profitable are the ones they call fixed time jobs. These jobs are like office jobs or BPO, Call Center jobs, in which the worker has to work online for a designated number if hours daily. Such jobs as Teaching English, Virtual Secretary, Customer Support are some of these. It's boring but the pay is great, the question is how long can you last?

I like to work as a ESL tutor or English Teacher for kids. I still have to sign up in Acadsoc. This is the only site I know when it comes in teaching and being a tutor. Upwork has a lot of job offers there. I can see a lot of clients and employers looking for freelancers to work for them.

I have never considered customer care service job in the past. I have actually gotten job offers for it in the past but I felt that it's going to be a boring job as you pointed out.

I wasn't aware it actually pays well, if I had known, I would have probably taken up the job.

My niece has been working as a medical transcriber for more than 10 years now and I'd say she is earning good money. The pay is high for medical transcription but I think it's not the same pay with other kinds of transcription job. It is time consuming and not an enjoyable work. For the money it would be affiliate marketing because there is the opportunity of making so many sales as long as you do the proper promotion of the products that you sell. But you need to have a website of your own for this purpose.

Transcription jobs pays well but it really requires lots of time and commitment to excel in the job.

It's very easy to earn money online from translation and transcription job if you have some language skills.

Well, I've tried transcribing, data entry and post writing but only with post writing I earned the most decent amount. So I sticked with post writing and now I am still working with it. I am off with transcribing because it is hard and mind blowing as you would have to deal with a lot of accents and a lot of time.

The most profitable would be data entry for me. I have been taking it for at least 3 months now and I must say the earnings I am receiving is quite good for a student like me. Almost there to buy a used motorcycle nearby me. It really helps and if you are looking forward to other jobs I would suggest taking surveys. They are not really accurate and don't really happen that much but they are also a good source of income.

I think for now I am just doing some post to paid forums in my freelancing activities since I am having a hard time in dealing in my offline work as it demands most of my time. I cannot work for now some other freelancing jobs as I am more focused now on my offline job.

Well, I've been there too, and is not easy. Trying to handle both schedules can be really hard. However, I try to get organized and stay to that order, and I've seen good results. Any good platform you can suggest? I've been searching around, and trying some that ended up being more a scam instead of a job.

I think freelancing jobs don't always pay everyone on a flat rate. How much you earn often depends on your ratings and how many good jobs you have to add credit to your name.

I think that means as a freelancer, you just have to pick one thing you are good at and stay the course. In good time, you will climb up the pay ladder and start earning much more as time passes.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaymish
I agree that as a freelancer you have to be patient and you start earning once your rating goes up. I know that you need to time to build your skills and the more skilled you are the more you will earn. However I don't think that you can stick to one skiill you need to diversify. When one channel of work dries up then you know that you have another and you can continue with life in this way.

I've given up on Transcription Jobs because if the time element. It takes an awful lot of time transcribing that I could earn it from other online sources easier. Translation jobs are more fun, just don't do religious works, because it's not easy mind you. I would suggest to start blogging, it pays to have a blog in the long run.

Hey Kakashi2020, I would like to do more digging into translation. Would it be ok if I ask you which platforms do you consider are good about it? I can handle 3 languages, and it would be highly appreciated if you can lead me into that kind of area. Thanks a lot.

Any kind of writing can be profitable depending on the writer's skills. Some publishers pay well for writing jobs.It is advisable to do enough research online before settling for a particular website.I once came across user testing websites where the jobs involve testing websites and apps.

I’ve heard of some article writers getting paid several hundred dollars for short pieces but I’m yet to get paid those kinds of figures myself for short pieces. I think you can find good money in just about any form of freelancing gig - it just all depends on the company.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Well, I've done posting, surveys, and call reviews. Would you be so kind to share your translation/transcription platforms? I've been looking for a good platform for those. Unfortunately, I haven't been that lucky, and a good advice from you will be really appreciated. Thanks for your attention.

@ballyhara You can try to join Digital Global community since the site is very nice and very interesting, I just don't know if they are accepting now some new members. I am also working at forum coin and mylot, maybe you can also try it if you have time. Although the earnings are not really high but good as an extra income only but I think it is already fine as long you are earning than nothing.
