Have you experienced your post deleted by the admin?

For a writer, being rejected is a dent on the ego. When you create a discussion and later on the admin would delete it for reasons that it is not related to the niche then that will make you think. Naturally you will review the topic that you created if your post was indeed out of tune. But if it is related to the niche then the admin may not like you as a member of the community. By the way, the culprit can be the admin or the moderator.

I've been a member of this forum for only a few months so I have not experienced that. The only experience that I have is submitting a topic but did not see it posted. I guess it was not approved for some reason. If it happened only once maybe we can just say that it is an accidental deletion or a glitch? I don't know. I would just try not to think negatively about it. I will just think that it is not a personal attack against me since we don't really know each other for them not to like me.

I am new also to this forum. I don't have an experience like that. I hope I don't get deleted in my posts. Its so nice to see posts not getting deleted. If it is deleted I believe the admin has the right not to post it. It might have violated their rules and regulation.

If ever I get my posts deleted. I will just take it into consideration. I will take it as a constructive criticism. If its constructive criticism it is also be good for the writer. The writer must find out what posts he needs not to post. So as no to experience it again and again.

I've never had a post deleted, but just like you, I wasn't approved to post a new topic in the beginning. I guess you have to show your potential by doing comments, and later on, you will qualify for creating topics. However, any inquiry, you can ask to support, and they will help you out. At least, that has worked for me.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mdayrit
Got some topics that I submitted approved and posted but not all of them. Although I make sure that topics are relevant to each forum where I post them, I think there are still various criteria that each admin or moderator is looking for. Support is really a great help whenever you have clarifications.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
When I started, I couldn't post any of my new topics, and it was like that for a while, I would say maybe 4 to 6 months. Suddenly, just one day, I took a new chance, and posted a topic and it went through. That's why I think, that at least in my case, they were giving some kind of trial period, instead of a criteria issues.

I'm not sure if I have become numb as a writer, but I don't consider the deletion of a discussion as a rejection. If the admin or moderator doesn't like me or my writing style, they'll probably just kick me out of the site. A paid writer is working at the pleasure of the site owner who has full control over the content of his/her site.

There are many possible reasons for removing a thread. If you post a discussion that contradicts or undermines the company's principles, the admin may have to take it down to protect the site. If you post a thread topic that has been discussed in an older thread, that is likely to be deleted because it doesn't add value to the site. The admin can also delete a discussion to save on precious space and give way to new discussions. Whatever it is, I don't think we should take it personally.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mdayrit
Don't worry, you are not alone in being a numb writer. I can say that I am also one. If my post gets deleted, I will surely wonder why but not to the extent of feeling bad or getting hurt. I guess we can compare that to a job interview. You know you are qualified and you have all the skills needed for the job but at the end, you still did not get the job. If the interviewer doesn't like you, and then fine. Move on and find another job. Just like in postings, if the admin or moderator doesn't like your post then I move on and just do another post. Have you experienced your post deleted by the admin?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Wenkx03
I agree, at first you'll feel the frustration. But at second thought you know that you have qualified and can give idea in the site. But at the last moment when.the admin really don't like you, its their last say that count. So better deal with it and find another. Life goes on.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
Yep in a health forum the admin keeps on deleting my posts. Whenever I post something it would be deleted in a couple of days. The reason their giving is that my posts are irrelevant but in reality my posts are very relevant. Well they're loss not mine.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
Have you tried having a word with the admin? I am looking at it as a sign that they are trying to keep the site clean and when they delete your discussion, try and have a chat with them on the things that they feel that you are going to change on it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
It happened to me also in health forum. I have no idea what are the basis is but for me I feel like it should not be like that. I think they did that because many people in the forum do posted a lot until the balance of the site becomes negative.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Same as me, even when my posts were relevant, on topic, and what I would deem to be long enough. I just unsubscribed. I don't have time to be commenting on a site to try and earn a small amount of money just for the owners of the site to retract what I wrote. I think it's honestly more a case of the site owner probably running out of money and trying to get some of it back. Shady!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
Yeah it is for the site owner. They are running out of balance that is why they are verifying the writers comments. There are also some forum site that they are not paying you. I posted a lot in this site and single points they are not giving me so ended I unsubscribed them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

superlicca
I can relate to your experience. There are forums that don't give points even if I posted a lot. I am not really sure what their criteria are but what I did was unsubscribe from the forum. There is also a forum where I posted 7 comments and only got 2.66 points.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
You are not the only one. Many of us experiencing that. But the lesson here is that do not give up posting your comments. Try harder until they see your effort and the content of what you are writing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jayjaydimson
Well, I haven't experienced this scenario yet, but I guess if it happens to me, well maybe something is not right in someone's post. Or maybe he/she violated some of the website rules.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
I think that it is going to be far more better for such an admin to have a word with the people that are making such mistakes on the best that they can improve the work. Seriously, to a creative writer involves being able to have a means of getting some words into the system and it is sad when the admin or moderator do not have a talk with the writer on the best way to handle things.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mdayrit
You are correct with that. The admin or moderator should inform the writer what are the reason for deletion. This is to further calibrate what the site really wants for writers to post so they do not keep on doing the same mistake.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

superlicca
I agree with you. If the admin deletes a post then there should be a valid reason. Admin is also responsible for informing the writer of the reasons why the post is deleted. So that the writer can avoid this from happening again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Youngshark
Exactly. Killing creativity swiftly in such a manner is so heartbreaking. There are some admins who have a god-complex thinking that everything should be done their own way. When a creative person puts out something great but different they take it down which is bad.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
The moderator should give a warning first to those people who posted irrelevant topic so that the people should have an idea just incase their posted are deleted by admin.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
What if the deleting issue, is related to some kind of breaking the rules? I think your idea is very valid. I mean, if something like that happens to me, I would like the admin tells me what I did wrong, or as you say to have some warning, so I can pay attention next time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
Yeah that is what exactly I was saying. I have been experienced that before and what I did is that instead of commenting in the certain post, I make my own topic and it works. We as a writer sometimes have the same ideas and opinions posted in the site and the moderator did not like it that is why they deleted it which is not good because without warning to us we feel sometimes that what is really wrong.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
And that answers a lot of personal questions. I've been thinking about it a lot, and I'm always concerned about if moderator/admin would agree or disagree, on any of my topics. I think is kind of frustrating and unfair, to be deleted, just because it doesn't fit on what they want to read. I think that if a post or comment, doesn't break the forum's rules, then it is valid to be posted.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
Yeah that was the bad effects from what they doing for the writers. Writers are hesitant now to post or make comments because they are thinking that their posted comments are invalid. Moderator should have at least a little sympathy to the writers and considerations as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

superlicca
Honestly, I can't tell if some of my posts were deleted. I don't really check all the posts that I made. But what I experience is that submitting a new discussion that is not being approved by the Admin. Possibly, my topic is not related to this forum or the topic was already posted before. Hopefully, I'll be able to start a new discussion and have a good conversation with everyone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

rlpzbeermoney
I've been a member of this forum for 1 month now. I've never experienced my post being deleted. Not that I'm aware of. The only thing I've experienced is submitting a bunch of new topics and having non of them being approved here. We've been running out of topics to write about and I wanted to create a discussion but it ended up like that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

CyrusWahome
I have not experienced such an issue so far, and I actually did not think it could happen. It sounds like you wrote something that did not meet the administrator's expectation or you compromised on quality. Either way, the administrator has full right over all the content that is published on the forum so he/she chooses what should stay and what should not. I have had posts accepted because I always maintain the highest quality possible, while also watching on the relevance of the topic that I need comments or answers on.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

romyter013
I haven't experienced that too. I guess we just need to follow the rules they have for us so your post will stay and wont be deleted. We are here to do post to encourage everyone, to help each other so we can a be better - newbie or not - we still need to respect each other's points of view and help one another to maintain our passion to write and learned from our experiences in life.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Youngshark
What is even more annoying is that you will get the notification not to modify your content but that it has been deleted. It has not happened to me on this platform but I have ever experienced such in on another site. Unfortunately, I do not think that there is much you can do other than creating another post. There are occasions nonetheless when it would be wise to contact the admin if they keep doing so to your posts.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Corzhens
May I clarify that this topic is not about this forum. It is my experience with another forum where the admin seems to be having a witch hunt on me that several of my posts were deleted for reasons that they are not relevant to the niche. I have many rebuttals to that reason but I don't think it is necessary to explain it here. No, I did not communicate with the admin. I just stopped going to that forum for my peace of mind.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I know exactly how you feel my friend and I know the forum you are talking about because this issue started recently and I have equally been a victim of this witch hunt as well. I would have mentioned the forum's name but for privacy reasons, I'm not going to do do so. So, I'm telling you that you aren't the only one who has been on the cold end of the moderator's unjustified wrath.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
Me too I have been victim also of that site. I think they are now more strict when it comes to the comments. The are taking care as well the points that they might loss for the unrelated comments.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Seriously, it got me thinking if I wasn't reasoning well enough anymore because after looking at what I have written and posted which I'm absolutely sure made sense and it is well related to the forum niche but it still gets deleted for not relevant, I was stoned and decided to stay away for a while.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EfficientNinja
I don't know if it is the same site that I'm thinking but I might have also experienced getting the same treatment in that website. Lots of writers feel the same and I think it is better to stay away from that site since the mods and admins there are too strict and it isn't worth the time to write there if there's a very high chance of our posts to get removed.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
We know which forum where are talking here lol. I would rather not mention it here. But yeah it just a waste of time posting there.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Chinet23
It's not worth the time and the trouble wondering what you did wrong, inappropriate or inadequate. I did try a few more times before I decided to let go. But just when I thought my posts made it, I will suddenly see the reduction from the points. It's great to have this forum where we have the freedom to express our thoughts and this was brought out to the open.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
Me too. It is not good to see that our comments there were just like a garbage deleting without knowing the real reasons were. We both know that what we posted there was related to the topic and yet they keep on deleting it. They are saying that was off topic and so on but I dont think that is fair. I did not post on that forum anymore.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Chinet23
I understand where you're coming from. I received feedbacks or reason why my posts got deleted. The comments made almost cross the line of being rude which I think is not appropriate. The choice of words is somehow offensive but I will take it at face value. I have read some of the comments posted as responses to members posts also but these were for everyone to see instead of sending the person a personal message or on the alert tabs.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
I know, this forum is amazing and better far from others. Some writers might think that the forum you are referring to is this forum so good for you to clarify as early as now about that. It might have some complications and misunderstanding between you and the owner of this site.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
For the TS, have you experienced it yourself? I highly doubt that because it appears to me that you are a well-versed writer. As for myself, I have never experienced it before. However, I have encountered rejections on a few freelance writing positions I applied to in the past. Does that count?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mitan143
I haven't experienced any deletion of my post or comment yet to any forum and I really appreciate that. But I can relate the hurt in our ego when our post or comment suddenly being deleted without any valid reason especially that you did not violate any rule. Why I can relate with you is sometimes when I try to make a clarification to the people involve in the matter we are discussing, the admin of the page deleted my entire comment. I even commented in a nice way, I just want to tell them a clarification but they deleted it. When it happens, I just ignore it and let them be. It's from social media sites, not in a forum like this.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

beerthooyah
I have not yet experience that kind of situatuion. But in case, I will not take it to heart and will understand that the admin has the right or reject or article. Dont lose confidence because all of us will experience rejection at some point. Just take it as a challenge to improve your skills and being rejected does not mean your a bad writer.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaymish3
I also know which forum you are talking about. I also went through the same thing and I considered quitting. As much as some people say it does not affect you, it does. It affects your morale. The admin is entitled to do this but why wait for a couple of days to pass. Why not delete the posts immediately or not credit them and tell people why you are doing it so that they don't make the same mistakes again. We are all human and we need to treat each other fairly. I'm very sad about this and I'm trying my best to just get on with things.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

EfficientNinja
Yup, I have experienced getting my post deleted on some super strict websites and forums. I abide by their rules and my posts are related to the niche but they still kept getting removed. I do not take it hard even if they do this, though. I treat it as a normal part of being a freelance writer. As they say, the customer is always right. If he/she doesn't want your service or aren't satisfied with it, you can just move on and find another client.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
True, there is absolutely nothing we can do about it and if we try to poke the bear, we will end up getting hurt in the process, so it's better let the sleeping dog stay sleeping and move on with our lives. When 99% of writers walk away from the site, it's going to be bad business for them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
The only thing to do is to post relevant to the topic and not just a copycat comments. The admin on that site once the best comments and related topic from the subject.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Chinet23
I have experienced that my comments are being deleted just recently in a certain forum. The moderator cites different reasons and lately I am no longer hearing any explanation. They just delete the comments and take back points. I'm thinking about unsubscribing I don't want to create too much fuss over some points. It's their discretion and I can't do anything much about it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly, there is nothing the forum members can do about it other than stop posting or leaving the forum completely because if things gets out of hand, I'm sure that it's the forum members that will suffer it the most because it's obvious that forum owners have better treatment in the system than ordinary posters. If I get go aggregated by the problem, I will simply unsubscribe from the site and have my peace.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Chinet23
I've already unsubscribed actually. I think they wanted more comments from an expert or at least post a well researched comment. This will be very tedious on my end just to earn some points. I felt that my comments are not valid or good enough even if they come from experience and even if I read it somewhere. I decided to let it be and leave.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly! I think that your assertion about them needing contents from an expert is actually the reason why they kept deleting comments left, right and center because I have had some contents that I know to be well related to the forum niche but it still gets deleted. So, why put myself through such hell for few points just like you mentioned. It's better to take a breather.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
It's the moderator of the site that is doing that, what her reason is for taking it on the guest posters on the site is what I don't seem to know. I'm sure that most of the people posting on the site have experienced this issues of getting their posts deleted because I have had a few inbox conversations with some of the friends I have on the site asking me if I'm experiencing such problems with my posts.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Chinet23
The good thing about it is I've learned that it's not only myself who experienced this. I'm not overreacting or too sensitive at all if it happens to other members too. I feel now that my reaction is valid but I've mentioned I won't create too much fuss and just leave if it's making me uncomfortable.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly! Actually I didn't get to know about this issue until a friend I made from the site called me on my phone asking me if I was experiencing my posts being deleted on the site. So, I had to go and check and saw about 5 posts of mine was deleted and it only took 2 more days and I saw this thread about the issue. So, it proves we are all in the same boat.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ajahcuizon
I have not experienced this before but I will understand if ever the admin will delete my post. I am sure that they have reasons to consider to delete your post. I believe they do those things to keep their contents aligned with the topic, and I understand. You should not get too much affected by that and just learn from it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Gilgamesh
I don't experienced it yet because I seldomly made a post. Regarding into your post the reason it may be deleted is lack of content, sensitive content, not idealistic, out of time etc. If you think that something is inappropriate in your post expect that it will be deleted.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

esteban123
I am also new to this forum and I had never experienced such incident wherein my post on this site was deleted for some reasons. Honestly it is just very rare that I would make a post in here since I am having a hard time in making the great articles that can I post. I just make sure that my post should be relatively in the discussion so that there will no reason that my post could be deleted.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think the OP meant another forum and not this forum. I don't think it happens here at WordClerks because our admins here are understanding. It's best if we all abide by the rules of any forum we join to avoid these things from happening.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I know that this topic is for comments that were deleted. But may I know if anybody here experienced that the forum that you were subscribed to have disappeared without getting any notifications? I have subscribed to a few forums but they disappeared after 24 hours.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
If the particular forum which you subscribed to have points in negative, it's going to disappear and you will likely get a mail notification that the forum is offline. So, kindly check your mail anytime you noticed that such forums have disappeared and you will see the notification there in your inbox. It will tell you that so forum has been disabled.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Chinet23
Martinsx1 is correct. You should receive email notification that the website was disabled. There had been forums which only last for a day or 2. What I experienced in some of the forums is I when I placed comments, it's not showing in my User ID but instead it was posted as a guest although I am still subscribed and hence, I am not earning points although my comments posted.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Thanks for the response. I check my email every day and I received a notification about the forum that has been disabled. However, I did not receive from the other forums that just disappeared. I wonder if they removed me from the subscription.

Deletion has been there since time immemorial. I have really got many of mine deleted. Once it is gone, I would not know where I went wrong. I fo not keep a track record of all posts I make. Error is to man.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Not really, because I think I know it to myself that I'm not violating any rules to this site, so so far no, and I don't even want to experience it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Good for you. I think we have the same circumstances about our post. We suddenly receives negative messages like our articles has been deleted. It was so sad knowing our thoughts are not likeable by the others.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

As for now, all my post are accepted and I hope that it will stay that way. I am trying to avoid that kind of circumstances that's why I don't leave comment for those articles that I'm not familiar with just to be safe lol. I don't wan't to be banned from this site because I have already experienced being banned from Other site without giving me the information why I am being banned.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I wonder if the points will be removed too if your post was deleted. If yes, then I think none of my posts has been deleted since my points have never been deducted. I always record the points that I earn so I can monitor if I lose a point.

Not yet, well, I guess maybe the content of your post is harsh or something bad that's why itsbdeleted.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

So far I am not experienced such an issue up until this point, and I really did not figure it could occur in the future. It sounds like you composed something that did not meet the director's desire or you traded off on quality. In any case, the head has full directly over all the substance that is distributed on the gathering so they picks what should remain and what ought not.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Not yet so far because I don't think I voiolated some rules in this forum, and I also read terms and policies before I post something.

Since this post is under the topic "Forum Posting" I just recently had an experience where one of my posts in a forum was deleted. It wasn't that traumatic. It's a new forum and I'm not that knowledgeable about the topics being discussed anyway. For the most part, my forum posts have not been deleted though. But I've only been actively posting in forums for about a year and a half.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

If I may ask, did you receive any email or notification when your post was deleted? Because I don't really know if some of my posts were deleted since I don't record them.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

cmoneyspinner
No I did not. But since I was new there I let it go. Because how I see it, I could have received an eMail telling me my account was deleted. I've had that happen at other sites (writing/blogging communities, not forums). It was not a pleasant experience.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

superlicca
Okay, since we don't receive a notification when our post is deleted, The best thing to do to monitor our posts is just by taking note of the number of posts that we make. Honestly, I am not aware if my some of my posts are deleted since I don't record my post.

I haven't experienced having a post being deleted by an admin. However, I have an experience about a comment that is still awaiting for moderation. I posted it like weeks ago, but it is still not approved. I don't know if it was being ignored or the moderator is just busy. Anyway, I'm still thankful that I was able to release and write what was on my mind, or else, it will remain forever in my head.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have had several deleted but in most cases I think it is just saving on revenue. Some of the deleted posts are factual yet the admin or moderator thinks in the contrary. Mostly am not bothered but move on.

There is one site I was completely banned. I do not know how it happened but I concentrated on just one forum in the site. I was new and just dealt with the introductory section

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, I think that it does happen with a lot of writers, their posts are deleted without giving any notice by the admin for a completely flimsy reason. Although this has never happened with me till now, I can understand how disturbing must it be for any writer. After all, the writer invests lots of his or her time and effort in creating that post and it can be very disappointing to see it get deleted due to a difference of opinion with someone.

I don't think you should take it to heart when a post or comment gets deleted because sometimes there are good reasons, other times it maybe a mistake. The point is, whatever forum, or website you are on it's at their discretion and they decide.

I have several Facebook groups and I do delete comments and posts that I don't feel are suitable, or that they are there to stir things up rather than discuss. One must accept the admin has control and does things for whatever reason whether it's logical or not.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaymish3
I agree@Gandalf. The Admin is in control and they can do anything that they want to do. I think that the problem most people have is that no reason is given. It's true that man is to error and anyone can make a mistake. You can write something and its not up to standard or its controversial, irrelevant and inappropriate. People would understand if you delete comments made in any of these three categories. The problem comes when you don't say anything. The person then has no room to improve.Just give the person a reason.

Having your post deleted is really a blow. I haven't have my post deleted in this site. But I did have my post rejected the first time and the second on hold but that was understandable since I was new to this forum and I was merely testing the watrs so to speak. but I had my posts deleted in other sites. It wasnot a nice a experience. First off, since it was already published, then I would assume that I have already met the standards required for it to go to the forums and start a quality discussion. But after some time, I found that my post deleted. And worse, I don't even know why. So now, I tend to pick my topics more on posting on forums sticking strickly to topics as I don't want to have my posts get deleted again.

I'm a member of a politics forum. They regularly delete posts and threads. I guess the admins/moderators don't want anything they don't like or agree with being seeing by anyone (on the site). Out there I've had numerous posts deleted but I like interacting with other forum members so it doesn't really matter that much. You can always discuss something off the boards even if the admin doesn't like it.

Yes, this has happened a lot to me. The thing is that a lot of people do not understand you or your writings, and thats why the admins ban your posts - they do not get what you have to say, they maybe thing that you are abusing or saying bad things.
